45 - Run for your life
The first thing Erik felt when he woke up was the cold against his body and the hardness of the surface where he was lying. He let out a pained groan as he blinked heavily and opened and closed his mouth as he felt a stabbing pain in his jaw as if he had been hit hard in that area.
"Mmmm," he complained.
When his eyelids finally paid attention and opened completely. He could make out shapes and colors around him that began to make sense. Everything was gray, the ceiling and the walls, if it weren't for some damp stains, everything would be monochromatic. He noticed that there was no furniture, nor anything except an iron door and on the opposite side of the room a small window very high up.
"What..." He could barely say, feeling dizzy and nauseous. "Where am I?" He asked himself.
-If I had known that my punishment would be having to be in the same room as you, I would have preferred to die.
The voice of another person in the room made his skin crawl and made his heart flutter. With his excited brown eyes he looked for the person who owned the hoarse and tired voice, finding his enemy sitting on the floor in a corner, with his arms back and his face bruised from so many blows.
At that moment Erik knew that he was no less lucky, surely his condition was similar to Ivan's. Unfortunately for him he was not wrong, his hands were also tied behind his back so tightly that he could not feel his fingers.
"You…" he growled, trying to get out of her grip, hurting his wrists in the process.
"I recommend that you don't do that, I already tried and it was in vain," Ivan asked, looking at him with such calmness that it worried the young man.
The flame of what had been young White seemed to no longer exist.
-What are you doing here? Where we are? Where is Helena? And Nick? AND…?
Erik began to hyperventilate as he remembered that the last memory he had in his memory was sitting in the waiting room with Nick waiting for Helena to come out of the operating room.
At that moment the skin on the back of his neck prickled and an idea struck his mind.
"Nick... that damn thing," he growled, shaking his wrists harder.
"If you hadn't been so naive, you wouldn't be here now," the raven man mocked.
-And you? I see you also fell into the trap, we are in the same boat, friend.
Ivan's mocking smile faded from his face, showing his suppressed anger.
"Come on, help me untie myself, we have to get out of here," Erik ordered, trying to get up, but his legs gave out and he fell face down on the ground. The drug Nick had given him still hindered his movements.
"Don't even try, we won't be able to escape from here, not alive," Ivan exclaimed, looking at the window with disinterest.
-Have you already given up? You are pathetic…
-I tried! -He shouted with his face full of anger- More than once! But time and time again you took her away from me, both of us! "To Helena and my son!" He exclaimed, jumping up from the ground.
-And what did you expect me to do?! Leave my sister served on a platter so that the monster you have as her father can get rid of her like he did with her mother and our father? Don't think I trust you just because you're here with me, you're just as shitty as him.
"I would never..." Ivan took a deep breath, swallowing the urge to cry bitterly. "I would never hurt them, never..."
-I can't believe you, nor your father, nor anyone in your family, I was a fool to trust that Nick was different...
-He had his reasons-His brother defended him.
-Of course!- he laughed sarcastically -Since your father also has his own to kill your son...
Ivan turned pale.
-That?
-What did you think? Did this end me? I'm just fucking human bait! It's so obvious that I can't understand how you can't see it...
-He goes to…?
-To kill Helena? Yes... To kill your newborn son? "God, of course yes!" He exclaimed, realizing that tears were falling down his face.
He threw himself forward, hitting his forehead against the ground as he cried bitterly, not caring that his enemy saw him this vulnerable.
"And I gave them to them, I let them take them..." the young brown-haired man said guiltily.
Ivan began pacing nervously around the room, trying to find a way to escape. Since he had been thrown into that cell where his father used to throw his enemies, he had remained motionless and hopeless, sinking into misery and guilt. But now a desire for revenge and fear overcame him. He had to kill his father, but above all recover Helena and her son.
"I'm going to make an exception," he exclaimed with annoyance. "Let's join forces to get out of here." But when all this is over you will be my enemy again.
Erik raised his face from the ground and looked at his opponent standing in front of him with a serious expression and flames in his eyes.
That was the Ivan he remembered.
-Made.

As soon as the men from the Sol group received the signal that Nick had sent them by text message, and which he had later regretted, they attacked the men from the Luna Group who were guarding the entrance to the clinic with firearms. There were casualties on both sides, but Group Sol outnumbered Group Moon, winning the battle and entering the clinic without problems.
The innocent people hid and ran away from the men in black who came in with weapons in their hands. They had no intention of harming anyone but their enemies. They arrived at the maternity ward and there they found Erik lying on the bench. One of the robust men carried the unconscious young man on his shoulder and carried him away. The others made silent signs with their hands to force their way into the room where Helena was.
When they entered, they found the bed with the sheets rumpled and the crib empty.
"They escaped," one of them warned over the intercom. "Close the entire perimeter."
Nick ran with all his strength, dragging the wheelchair through corridors that seemed like an endless maze.
He felt his lungs burning in flames and his heart pounding in his throat. He had heard the shots in the distance that gave notice that Grupo Sol had managed to enter. They would find them at any moment if they couldn't get out of there as soon as possible.
-There! - Helena shouted, pointing to an ambulance parked at the exit.
Her idea would have seemed crazy to him if the lives of the three of them were not in danger.
Without further ado, he opened the doors of the ambulance box and loaded Helena and her baby into the car. He ran to the front and opened the door.
"They're running away!" one of the men shouted, pointing at Nick who was entering the vehicle with his body trembling with fear.
"Speed up Nick!" the young woman shouted.
Nick started the engine and prayed that driving an ambulance was like driving a car and accelerated, making his tires screech against the asphalt of the emergency entrance.
The men ran after the truck, but to no avail, it quickly picked up speed and left the clinic.
But Nick knew that he couldn't claim victory yet, they could catch up with them in two seconds. The problem now was, where were they going to go? Did they have a chance to start a new life? Would they be left alone if they left the country?
"Nick, let's go to my brother's cabin, I'll guide you," the brunette exclaimed from behind.
-But…
-You are going to do what I tell you, you do not have the right to decide anything.
Nick swallowed heavily and nodded.
-Yes Helena.
