26 - I know what you did
An icy cold ran through the young woman's naked body covered in love marks. The sheets had fallen somewhere on the floor of her boss's room and she was now vulnerable to the cold temperature that had suddenly hit her.
Even with her eyes closed, she snuggled further into the mattress and felt the other side of the bed, still silently demanding that the body of her lover wrap her in her arms and share her warmth.
But when her hand probed the area, it was empty and not only that, but it was also cold, as if no one had been occupying that side of the bed for a while.
Still a little asleep and confused by her dream, she opened a single eye looking at the place of the white, wrinkle-free mattress. A deep anguish filled her as she opened both eyes and she sat up in bed looking for signs of Ivan somewhere in the room.
She wasn't there and from her spot she could see the open bathroom door indicating that she wasn't there either.
She sighed heavily and hugged her legs against her bare chest.
“I'm really deluded, it was obvious that this would happen” She thought to herself when she realized that all the physical and verbal love that Ivan had given her that night, when he had shown himself vulnerable with her and ecstatic with love, had been lost. vanished along with the moon.
She hugged herself tighter and buried her face in her knees, releasing a moan of pain that she felt was her heart breaking into a thousand pieces because of her loving betrayal.
“So this is what it feels like to have her heart broken,” she thought, feeling that she could never heal that open wound that had caused her to believe that Ivan would love her beyond dawn.
Suddenly the sound of the doorknob turning slowly brought her out of her masochistic thoughts, a hint of hope invaded her, thinking that perhaps it was her lover who was about to return to her arms and apologize for leaving. without warning.
She quickly grabbed the sheet from the floor and wrapped it around herself. Yes, Ivan had even seen the small mole she had on the inside of her thighs, but still the modesty returned to her body and to her cheeks.
But when she saw the door swing open revealing someone far away to the slender, wonderful figure of her boss, she squealed and pulled the covers even tighter over her in embarrassment.
"Good morning, miss," the sweet voice of that older woman she had seen the first day she arrived at that house disconcerted her and she felt disappointed.
"Good morning," she responded just out of kindness, but without much encouragement.
The woman smiled fondly and walked slowly to the nightstand next to the young woman where she placed a silver tray with an appetizing breakfast and some yellow flowers that filled the room with her sweet aroma.
"You better have breakfast before you start your day, miss," the woman exclaimed with a motherly tone that would have warmed your heart if she had one.
Reluctantly, Helena turned her face towards the table, finding not only the food and the beautiful flowers, but also the red envelope that she placed against the glass vase and seemed to shine on its own.
"What is all this?" She asked with more curiosity than she had before without stopping to observe the crimson paper.
"Mr. White asked me to make sure you had breakfast before starting your day, Miss," she exclaimed as she flung open the curtains and let the new day into the room.
Helena didn't flinch when the sun's rays hit her face hard, she couldn't look away from that mysterious envelope.
"Did he really ask you?" she asked with a lump in her throat and excitement etched in her eyes that trembled with emotion.
The woman smiled understandingly and walked towards the door.
-Of course, miss, he himself came to the kitchen and told me to prepare a hearty breakfast for you and he left me that letter for you- The woman grabbed the doorknob and looked at the young woman one last time before leaving- I'll leave you alone. , but please eat first before reading it-
As soon as the woman left the room, Helena did not pay attention to her order and she rushed towards her envelope, taking it in her hands. She smelled like her boss, like her pine perfume mixed with the coffee she drank every morning. She buried her little nose against the paper and breathed, feeling her heart pounding back to life.
Without being able to wait any longer, she opened the envelope and took out a white paper folded in half that she opened and found a writing in the hands of her lover:
“I had to leave early because of an important family matter, but I didn't want you to think that what happened last night wasn't special to me. Eat all your breakfast. That's an order. Yours, Ivan”
Helena couldn't help but laugh, scream, throw herself back on the bed hugging the envelope and kicking with happiness like a little girl.
Not only had she melted over the letter, she could imagine her boss's brow furrowing as she wrote on the paper, embarrassed to show her feelings and yet somehow maintaining her composure. But that last “Yours, Ivan” had been all she needed to believe that love existed again.
And if that man couldn't be more perfect, there was her beautiful handwriting, so perfect, tight and thick with black ink and at the same time so elegant and sensual that it melted her.
She carefully put the paper back into the envelope and set it aside while she obeyed and ate everything on the tray.
That letter would be the first memory of her in a long list of romantic moments that would be added to her personal box of memories. Maybe she was overreacting again, getting too ahead of herself and acting like a girl in love. But she couldn't help it, that man drove her crazy and it was still fresh in her mind and in her body how she had made love to him savagely and at the same time with so much love that she believed she would die if it was all alone. a dream.
---
When the maid left her room, she almost collided with one of her boss's father's bodyguards. She backed away scared, they had never liked her, they always had that dark look in their eyes and their jaw clenched as if they didn't know what a smile was.
"Excuse me," the woman exclaimed, surrounding the man to disappear down the hallway. But the young man was faster and he grabbed her arm with more force than necessary.
"What were you doing in young White's room?" She asked without further ado.
The woman became nervous, but she swallowed her fear and exclaimed:
"I was cleaning the gentleman's room..." she answered without hesitation.
The man looked at her with a gaze so dark and penetrating that she felt like he was reading her mind.
-I wanted to give you a chance to tell me the truth yourself, but I see that you didn't pass the test- She answered without further ado- I saw her enter with a nice breakfast tray, with some flowers and something else…. You could even say that it was something romantic, and as far as I know, young White is outside the house at the moment.
The woman was left breathless, Ivan had asked her not to say anything to anyone, that no one could know about Helena. She had somehow raised him and although they didn't talk much, she had always been her confidant, but now she had ruined everything, by not being more discreet.
The woman began to babble and the bodyguard carelessly released his grip on her.
"Don't worry, you don't need to say more, I know very well who is there, her expression already told me," he said, leaving her alone in the hallway.
---
"Good morning, Mr. White," the same bodyguard exclaimed, bowing slightly in front of Ivan's father who was sitting in his wheelchair having breakfast on his private balcony.
"Is there news about anything?" He said without further ado, knowing that he hated being interrupted at his breakfast if it wasn't something important.
-I'm sorry to be inopportune, but I thought I should know this before anyone else.
-Say it once and for all.
-Yes sir, his eldest son, Ivan, spent the night with his bodyguard, Helena Herrera.
The father was silent for a moment, but he was only the eye of the storm about to break out.
He let out a piercing scream and threw his coffee cup to the ground, smashing it to pieces. His man did not flinch and stood his ground.
"I knew this was going to happen!" He screamed and coughed hard, clutching his chest. "That child is weak," he exclaimed with contempt.
"Sir, what should I do?" The young man asked, it was what he always said, he was willing to do anything for his boss, even getting rid of that woman if he asked him to.
Ivan's father knew what he meant by that question, he took several deep breaths and leaned back in the chair to calm himself before the stress and his son killed him.
"You don't need to do that," he exclaimed calmly. "Leave it to me this time, the only thing I have to prevent is for that woman to get close to Erik Black again, that would be a serious problem." Let my son win this time, but when he knows the truth, he himself will have to take responsibility for his mistakes. Tell Helena to come see me urgently.
-Yes sir- answered the young man leaving there.
---
What the young woman in love least expected was that whoever was supposed to now be her father-in-law would call her to talk.
“Had she already found out about my wild adventure with her precious son? She's probably going to get rid of my body before Ivan gets back to the house” She thought, feeling like he was entering hell itself when he walked through the door of the man's private room, feeling his blood run cold.
"Good morning, Mr. White," he responded as kindly as he could and tried to keep his voice from shaking. "Were you looking for me?"
"Sit down, dear," she exclaimed, pointing to the empty seat in front of him.
Helena would have liked to stay standing, that way she could flee more easily if they tried to annihilate her, but it was not the time to refuse, she did not want to anger the man even more. She knew that she had made a serious mistake, he himself had warned her not to try anything with her son.
The young woman waited what she felt like an eternity for her boss's boss to speak, feeling like he would faint right then and there from the tension and suspense.
"I'm not going to lie to you, dear, I know what happened last night, I find out about everything that happens in my home," she exclaimed without changing her expression.
Helena jumped in her seat terrified, she knew that her life was over, she was dead.
