47- The only hope

"Don't worry Nick, everything is going to be fine," Helena whispered to her brother-in-law. While both were escorted by two men from Grupo Sol into the mansion where their enemy was waiting.

The young woman felt a strong tug on her arm. "Shut up, traitor," the man growled.

Helena held back the urge to tell him to fuck off and opted to breathe deeply through her nose to maintain her composure. On the other hand, Nick didn't say anything, he didn't want to provoke a fight from which he wouldn't know if he would come out alive. His sister-in-law had told him that his father would not be able to hurt his own blood. But he really wasn't sure if that was true.

Until he saw his older brother in front of him, he wasn't sure if he was still alive.

They reached the closed door of Mr. White's office.

"Sir, we have them," one of the men indicated.

"Send them in," he ordered, his voice emotionless.

Suddenly Helena and Nick were thrown carelessly into the room, falling face down on the floor. The young woman closed her eyes tightly and swallowed the pain that arose in the points of her belly. She bit her lower lip hard and wished she had taken more painkillers.

"Finally we meet again, daughter-in-law," the man murmured.

Helena could see the man's perfectly polished black shoes walking towards her.

With what little dignity she still maintained, the young she raised her hate-filled honey-colored gaze upward, finding her worst nightmare smiling at her in amusement.

Disgust and contempt were some of the feelings she felt when she saw that man who had ruined everything.

The man's emotionless black eyes trailed to the body next to her.

"By the way, thank you for bringing me my son," she exclaimed. "Get up," she ordered.

Nick looked at Helena before obeying her father. The young woman nodded and Nick stood up in front of her father.

-Father…-he said, hating how those words came out of his mouth-I only came so that you could free Ivan. It's me you want, not him.

"Ohhh, how thoughtful of your brother," he said falsely. "He's fine, and he'll continue to be fine if you stay by my side."

Nick clenched his fists so tightly that they shook, he knew that his brother would be his mother's guarantee to keep him in that prison that was supposedly a home.

-Why do you keep doing this? You already won, we already understood that you are the strongest. Why continue? -He exclaimed, feeling a lump in his throat.

"Oh no, son, I haven't won yet, there's still a piece of the game that's getting in my way," he said, looking at Helena, who was watching him with a murderous look. "As long as that child is still out there hiding somewhere, he's going to be a rock in my face." shoe all life. Best to get it out of the way now.

"He's just a baby, father!" Nick screeched.

"Now he is, then he will be a threat," he said with contempt. "He is going to become a man who is going to want revenge and take away my entire kingdom," he exclaimed, forcefully taking the young woman's arm and lifting her off the ground in one go. jerk.
At the surprise of her movement, Helena released a cry of surprise and pain from the points that moved on her belly.

-Let her go! "You're hurting her!" Nick shouted, grabbing his father's arm.

"Not until you tell me where you're hiding that bastard." He tightened his grip.

Helena clenched her jaw and took a second to calm her pain.

-You will never find my son, he is safe from all your plans.

The man smiled amused and licked his lips grotesquely - We'll see about that girl, let's see how long you can last before confessing - The man looked at one of his bodyguards - Bring Erik. Let's see if he can stand seeing his little brother suffer.

---

Erik was leaning against one of the cold walls trying to stay calm and ignore the excruciating pain in his thumb after Ivan broke it and freed it from his restraints.

-Did you hear that? "They are approaching," the young jet-black man warned.
Erik knew what that meant, they had to start with their plan. It wasn't something very elaborate, but it was his only option to get out of there in one piece.

Ivan sat in the corner of him with his arms behind him and his eyes downcast. Erik did the same in his corner.

As he heard the footsteps from the hallway get closer and closer, he felt beads of sweat fall down his face.

What if everything went wrong?

She was the only hope to save his sister and his nephew. He couldn't screw it up. Not this time.

The metal door opened, but neither of them looked up, pretending to be unconscious.

"Only Back," one voice ordered another.

Erik heard the man's footsteps walk towards him and forcefully grab him by his clothes, pulling him up mercilessly.

"Wake up idiot, you have visitors," the man exclaimed with contempt.

Erik looked up and his brown eyes went directly to Ivan, who had looked up and nodded his head, starting the plan.

In the carelessness of the other man who was turning his back to Ivan, the young man suddenly stood up and grabbed him from behind him, wrapping his arm around his neck, making his movements impossible.

"What the hell?" the other man exclaimed, turning around to see the struggle.

Erik took advantage of this distraction and took the gun that was on the bodyguard's belt and pointed it at him.

"In the corner and with your mouth closed," he ordered.

The man stepped back with his eyes full of hatred, obeying Erik.

"On your back," he ordered without stopping pointing.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw how Ivan managed to put the other person to sleep and put him face down on the floor. Without wasting any time he tied his wrists and also took away his gun.

-They are going to regret doing this, they are signing their death warrant.

"Shut up if you don't want to be unconscious too," Ivan exclaimed, tying her arms behind her back.

"We should shut him up, don't you think?" Erik asked. "Otherwise he's going to be screaming like a little girl."

"Yes, I think so," Ivan said smiling, approaching the man.

-They're going to be dead! "Mr. White is not going to forgive you for this, Ivan," the man exclaimed as he tried to back away in vain. From one second to the next, Ivan's arm went around the man's neck and began to squeeze him while the other struggled.

Erik peeked out the door, finding the hallway empty.

-Hurry up, they're probably waiting for us and they're going to get suspicious if we take too long.

"Yes... one more second," he exclaimed as he noticed that the man's body was loosening in his grip. "Ready, let's go."

Erik nodded nervously, holding onto the gun tightly.

---

The minutes while they waited for his brother to be brought to Mr. White's office felt endless. Helena's nervousness and sweat increased more and more. It wasn't a perfect plan, it wasn't really a plan, more like it was her only hope of having a chance to save her brother somehow.

But what if Erik was hurt?

Then it would be her against everyone.

She swallowed heavily, feeling that perhaps her death would come soon. The only thing that calmed her was knowing that if she was killed, at least the location of her child would go with her to her grave and would be safe for the rest of her life.

Suddenly the door rang and so did her heart.

"Go ahead," Mr. White ordered.
