Chapter 41 Pandamonium

Looks like they have lingered too much. This investigation shouldn't have taken him beyond 24 hours to apprehend the killer.
He had wasted too much time and now, they are now robbing dirt on him. He will set out to action immediately.
" I really don't know why you are delaying the arrest of the suspect. If I were you, I would have arrested the suspect, latest this morning.." Tina complained.
Jordan chuckled aloud. He had done one last thing that none of them knows and the result of it proves that the suspect indeed was 99% Kitty's killer.
"I know I wasted time. But I think finally, we are getting there" Jordan declared as he grinned with excitement.
He started the ignition and drove off. How did that suitcase get in his back seat? It can only be from one place, from the office.
He had taken his laptop from the bedroom and brought it into his car that morning. If there had been the suitcase there he would have known.
And after placing his laptop on the passenger's seat, he got into his car and drove to the office. He took off from the office with Tina until the miscreant called.
So it's only logical for him to agree that the suitcase got into his car right from the force headquarters.
He didn't expect that anyone could have access to his car. That means, keeping evidence of any crime he was investigating in his car could easily be stolen away.
He must get to the root of it. The people or person working against them and making them frustrated will go down this time. He is sure of it.
As he drove towards the hospital, he called Kunle, " Anything unusual on the surveillance camera?" He asked, as he watched the speedometer going faster from his dashboard.
"It showed Kelvin smoking a cigarette in front of our office," Kunle reported. Jordan smiled. Smoking in front of someone else's office.
Isn't there a restroom in his office where he could do it? Besides, it is against the etiquettes of the profession.
He's abused the profession and the reason why he was smoking in front of his office has given him enough evidence to nail him.
"Thanks. Keep a close watch on him and don't allow him to know a thing about us again" Jordan instructed.
Kelvin, Kelvin. The eagle that eats the intestine of another eagle. This is abnormal but sometimes there's always a Judas in every twelve.
He is a bad egg and such shouldn't be found among the police. He would confirm whatever he wanted and then apprehend him.
" I knew that fellow doesn't have a good conscience from the way I saw him. I despised him the very first time I set my eyes on him.
But allow him to play around a little. When the suspect is arrested, he would follow and he would know that his every move was seen" Tina requested.
Jordan chuckled aloud. He would make him feel he has succeeded and at the time of his triumph, he would have him handcuffed.
By the time Jordan and Tina arrived at the hospital, they were met with pandamonium...
"...abduct the female detective and threaten Jordan with her. If he still proves to be stubborn, shoot him and end it once and for all.."the caller was instructing his hired men.
" Ok" the gangster answered. The call ended and he looked at two of his men " there's work to do.
Some people are just too stubborn. Jordan didn't accept the offer but rather insulted our client. He called him a coward.
After the ongoing mission, our men would arrive and the next thing would be to go into action.
Information reaching me is that it's only Jordan and the female detective that are together. It's better we strike them when they are just two than leave them to get a backup first" the leader suggested.
He smirked and looked at his men. More money was coming their way and this time,he is more than certain that they will not miss the target.
"We all know that Jordan's strength equals ten men. And that female detective you are talking about, you know what we encountered when we attacked her.
We have deaths and a few casualties. We couldn't even go to a hospital for proper treatment in order not to be suspected.
And now you are saying the same client wants us to do another job? Boss,do think twice before we go anywhere because many of us are yet to recover" one of the gang members spoke.
What kind of client wants to see them dead simply because he promised to pay handsomely? They finished off a gang member already and now, they can't afford to waste their lives for the sole purpose of money.
" This is the last operation. After this, we hung up. We can't quit now, we have gone too far with this client than to slip back now.
Besides, he promised to pay double of what he usually pays us. Isn't that enough motivation for us to do this last job?" The gang leader declared.
After much persuasion from their boss, the men reluctantly agreed and decided to go ahead. They got ready and strategized how to get either Jordan or Tina.
As they got closer they perceived the smell of something burning. But they soon saw what was happening.
Jordan saw people running from the hospital ward. There had been a fire outbreak.
People were running. Outbreak of fire in a hospital? That is very rare. Jordan and Tina got into action and started moving patients out of the ward.
With quick intervention, the fire was soon put out and they saw the ward where the fire started from, that it was the ward where Jordan said the dead suspect was kept.
He chuckled. Those people were proving to be always a step ahead of them. They wanted to get rid of the hidden camera and the best way to achieve that was to set that ward on fire.
Whereas in the real sense, there was no camera anywhere. Tina and Jordan exchanged glances and smiled, fools.
"Detective Jordan, the patient you brought here must have attracted bad luck to this hospital.."
