Chapter 55 Hired a detective

Jordan couldn't sleep. He kept rolling from one end of his bed to the other. He was restless as well. What was happening to him that night?
He had been unhappy after his words to Tina earlier in the day. But that shouldn't elude him from his sleep. His mind and heart were filled with the thoughts of Tina.
His bandaged arm wasn't causing him sleepless nights, rather it's the thoughts of Tina that has stolen sleep away from him. He stood up and felt a little fatigued, it's been a stressful day and a day of narrowly escaping death.
He got a sleeping pill and flushed it down his throat with water, perhaps that would help, he waited but he still didn't sleep. He knew then that he was done for.
Tina, he was too hard on her a while ago. Now his conscience kept judging him that he was wrong. He hadn't said such harsh words to anyone in a while, but now, he had talked to her with the main purpose of bruising her ego.
He shouldn't have said those words to her. What is wrong if she fell in love with him? Since he couldn't see and feel love , she did and it's only logical that she made him know it.
But rather than politely telling her that he would not be able to reciprocate her feelings, he did the worst and ruined her happy mood, and possibly made her feel dejected.
Jordan stood up and went downstairs. He got into the kitchen and brought out a bottle of water, poured himself a cold,chilled water and gulped it down.
There's need for a woman in that house. It is true that he has cooks and servants who do his bidding, but there is the place of a madam.
Rachel is no more. Is this how the house would remain without a woman? He left and went back to his room. It was approaching midnight and he still couldn't sleep.
He looked at Rachel's portrait and it appeared distant from her. He lay down. The memory of Rachel appeared a little distant because of his restlessness.
He laid on his bed, and it's only Tina he could think about. And the lady is good actually, she is smart, beautiful, intelligent and capable of defending herself in the face of danger. She is his type of woman but he was only committed to Rachel.
He finds it difficult to think about being with another woman. It makes him feel he is a cheat. He had loved her and made her believe that he would love her alone forever.
How can he still say those words to another woman? It's simply difficult for him, that's why he had lived these few years after her death still committed to her.
But Tina, he can't explain how he was feeling right now. He can't say he is in love with her but at the same time, he can't say she meant nothing to him, down in his heart.
Restless and worried, he picked up his phone and called Tina. It rang and she didn't answer her phone. Trying to call her again, she had blacklisted his number.
This is really serious. She's indeed upset with him, it wasn't just his imagination. Tina is unhappy with him. He would apologise to her about the sassy words he spoke to her earlier in the day.
That way, Jordan ended up staying awake until the dawn of the next day. His eyes had dark lines and he finally fell asleep at five am that morning.
While Jordan was being restless, Tina was making contact with a certain person. Now that the official assignment is over, she needs to find who the scorpion was.
That fellow crushed her mother with his car and that was what eventually took her mother away from her. He did it, and got away with it. She is going to make him pay for it.
If the law had punished him, she would have held her peace. But he got away with it, she was cheated, she lost her mother and the fellow that caused it escaped.
Her mother was also cheated. Justice wasn't done for her, she deserves the justice and that fellow must die, he must pay for it, for what he did to her mother,she won't let him get away with it again.
She had done her homework well and already gotten the contact of a private detective. She would hire him and work side by side with him.
It was late but she tried contacting him anyway. She took her phone and dialled a number. Soon it started ringing:
"Hello, is this Gred Darkwood?" Tina asked. She got his contact from a colleague back in New York as an international detective from her country.
" Yeah, this is detective Greg" the fellow answered from the other end. He has many contacts because of his kind of job but the one Tina just called is his international private contact.
Only those who needed him to do a job or investigate a case for them from his country had that contact. Hence he answered his name simply.
" Good. This is detective Tina. I would like us to meet briefly tomorrow if you are free" Tina requested. She wants to start as soon as possible.
Greg quickly thought about it and soon concluded in his mind. He has a few minutes to spare at lunch time. Maybe he would give her the time to meet him then.
"Busy but can spare you a few of my time during lunch. How about we make lunch together then?" He suggested.
Tina readily agreed and they decided to Meet for lunch together. When the call ended, she was happy. Is she could find this scorpion of a killer, she would skin him alive.
Her days in that country as a detective would not be long again. She would soon return and live the rest of her life in New York City.
While Tina was happy and eager about her meeting with Greg the next day, Isabella was lying on her bed and looking up at the ceiling.
Joy had finally returned to her depressed life and she was feeling excited like a teenager who just found love.
