Chapter 47 Arrested

Jordan glared at him with hostility. He was the one who had masterminded the attack on him and his colleagues a while ago.
He then had the effrontery to come before the commissioner to make some unhealthy claim and request for him to be replaced.
He had never felt insulted in the profession like what the Wilson's did that day. He stared at him and his eyes were giving out cold vibes, capable enough to chill down the spine.
Kunle and the two female Detectives just watched at the height of stupidity that the chief came to display before the commissioner.
Anyways, there is no way for him to leave the force headquarters again. He was going to be jailed for the death of Kitty, he murdered her using someone else's hand.
He knew about the attack on Tina and the one they just narrowly escaped. Jordan would have died in that attack, hadn't it not been that Tina acted fast.
"Yes Commissioner. That was what I wanted when I walked through that door here. But seeing these detectives now, I regret making that request.
I am sorry for any inconveniences my visit might have caused" he clasps his hands together in apologise.
Felix Freeman just stared at him. He needs to investigate this man, something is fishy. He is a wealthy influential man in society and he doesn't expect such foul behaviour from him.
Jordan cleared his throat and said " I am glad chief Dare Wilson is here. Our work is much easier now" he stated looking in the direction of Dare Wilson and his wife.
Commissioner Felix glared at Jordan. He had suffered another attack again. He often suffers attacks at the cause of duty and such attacks always get him promoted.
Seeing the bandage arm and blood stain all over him,he knew the team had a story to tell him when the couple before him leaves.
" I see, well-done detectives' ' Felix Freeman gave them a thumbs up. He smiled at the detectives and waited for Jordan to conclude his speech.
" We have gotten our answers and all that remain is to arrest Kitty Wilson's murderer" Jordan announced.
" You did?" " Thank goodness! " Dare Wilson and his wife exclaimed at the same time and glanced at each other.
"Good job detectives. I know you will not fail me" Felix Freeman smiled. He looked around as if he was going to stand up when he added " what are you waiting for? Get the police van and the warrant to arrest the suspect"
Dare Wilson was smiling but underneath, one could see how agitating he was feeling. He started sweating again and his wife held his hand, smiling and happy that finally their daughter was on the path of getting the justice that she deserved.
" We will not need the police van anymore. Everything has been made simpler here. But with your permission, shall I proceed with the arrest?" Jordan asked.
Felix Freeman grunted underneath his breath. Why is Jordan asking him such questions that don't need an answer? He already knows that he is 100% in support of his work.
"Just go ahead Jordan and make the arrest. Why are you asking me again?" He waved his hand that Jordan should go.
Jordan carefully turned towards Dare Wilson who now had beads of sweat on his foreheads. He couldn't hide his agitation anymore.
"Chief Dare Wilson, you are under arrest for the murder of Kitty Wilson!" Jordan stated with an expressionless face.
"What! This is preposterous! How dare you..." Dare Wilson jumped up on his seat and was going to keep talking when Jordan shut him up.
" Dare Wilson, you are advised to remain silent for whatever you say will be used against you in the court of law" Jordan declared.
Felix Freeman was shocked. Dare Wilson murdered his own daughter and dispose of her body so casually?
How can a father do that to his own daughter and Walk about on the street without remorse? Such a cruel world.
Had he already known that the detectives had discovered his stinking ass and hence developed a cold feet when he saw them?
"You are mistaken detectives, my husband cannot do that, he can't possibly have murdered our daughter.." Kate Wilson stood in defence of her husband.
He may not have been Kitty's biological father, but he couldn't have loved her less. She knew how important their daughter was to him.
Tina glared at Kate Wilson with hostility. What kind of a mother is this woman before her? Her carelessness had led her daughter to her end prematurely.
Now she stood in defence of the man who had caused her to lose an only child? Why are some women so dumb?
"You mean he can't possibly have murdered his step daughter? Is that what you meant?" Tina asked, acting innocent.
There was a needle dropping silence. Neither Dare nor his wife Kate spoke. They were rendered momentarily speechless.
They knew Kitty wasn't Dare's daughter? How did they know? That secret was between them three, the couple and Kitty herself.
How did they find out? Dare Wilson exchanged glances with his wife and they both looked away.
Kunle had handcuffed Dare's wrist and was going to lead him away when Kate held him and glared at Tina.
" Kitty was Dare's daughter. How dare you say something so preposterous? Are you trying to heap crime on my husband simply because he came here to request that another team handle his daughter's case?"
"Doesn't it send a signal to your brain that your husband's bodyguard Raymond Dee popularly known as Pascal Parker died just as your daughter?
All thanks to your hubby who ordered Pascal Parker to strangulate Kitty and then shot a bullet into his heart, concealing every evidence to tracking him.
He possibly can't do that right, after sleeping with your daughter that autopsy report proved that the semen found on her V*gi*a was your husband's"Tina snapped at her.
Kate Wilson stood fixed at a point. She has not been able to process the huge information she just heard.
She gently turned to glare at her husband and the fellow shook his head " this is a set up. They want to ruin my reputation and destroy our happy marriage.
You can imagine, they claim Kitty is not my daughter. Who will believe such nonsense they sprouted. Don't let them have their way darling.
Contact my lawyer and let him come at once. We are going to come out strong, I promise..." Dare Wilson was blabbing.
Kate just stared at him. When Kitty died, Dare Wilson was not in town, he travelled out. How can this be true?
" Did you really travel abroad at the time Kitty was found dead?" Kate Wilson asked, raising her hand and demonstrating how confused she is.
"That is it, you see what I am saying. I travelled out of the country and I didn't know our daughter died. I don't know how much these detectives were paid to blackmail me" Dare Wilson explained.
Jordan became furious. He dares to think dirty of them? What nonsense! Does he think everyone is filthy like himself?
" I won't give you a chance to think unhealthy of us. The duplicate of the invoice for the hotel Bill you paid on the night before Kitty's body was found, is in my custody.
You had lodged in that hotel on the evening before the day your step daughter died. She was seen entering your hotel room that evening but no one knew when she came out.
In the early hours of the day her corpse was found, you were caught by the surveillance camera, carrying a big bag out, accompanied by two of your men.
You returned and stayed in the room until the next day after the news of her death spread everywhere in the city.
Do you now see the reason why we blackmailed you or try to destroy your happy marriage with the deceased mother?" Jordan asked.
If what Kate experienced before was shock, then her present experience was far more than being shocked. Did her husband really lie about travelling abroad?
If he really lied, then she would never believe any of the claims he might be putting up. Was he really sleeping with Kitty as well?
"Liars,you only want to come between my wife and I. You have no evidence to support your claim. You are trying to paint me black and tarnish my image, ruin my reputation.
My lawyer will contend with you in court. I will see that you pay for your false claims. You are nothing but frustrated men and women who want to take out your frustrations on innocent citizens and men of integrity like myself..." Dare Wilson bellowed.
He was angry and Furious. He has to put up a defence. It is better to die a warrior than to be numbered among the cowards.
His men definitely must be in possession of the evidence. If they don't have evidence to back their claim, he would easily walk away unscratched.
Jordan glanced at Tina and Kunle and the two detectives walked out. They were going to bring the evidence that Dare Wilson claimed they don't have.
"You want to see the evidence that pointed out to you? Then wait, you will get one soon" Jordan declared.
Dare Wilson's breathing increased. What did he just say? Do they still have any evidence in their possession?
