Chapter 51: Pure Chaos and mayhem and the eternal goodbye!

Selena eyed her half sister and her fiancé warily as they both entered with harried breaths. Selena, being already on a tight spot couldn’t handle any more bad news.

Vanessa bowed deeply to the council, then stated flimsily, without even bothering to beat around the bush, “Now that she is certified as a fake, the marriage agreement between her and Caro Silva holds void.”

Selena raised an eyebrow at her half sister dangerously, warning her to be careful and not to overstep her boundaries while Caro flinched harshly from behind her.
He however was quick to jump in Selena’s defense and said tactically, “I knew that she wasn’t Mia. I knew everything and I still choose her as my wife. She didn’t hide anything from me and we are in love with each other.”
Vanessa glared down at Caro and spat at him venomously, “You fell in love with a fake princess?”
Caro scowled at her and replied venomously, “She is her twin, Vanessa, she isn’t a fake. She is a royal too and even if she wasn’t, it still wouldn’t have changed my mind.”
Vanessa ignored Caro’s comment and addressed the council directly, “Sire, my father’s decree stated that Caro Silva be wedded with the first princess. He didn’t state her name but stated the first princess and as the first princess is no more, this decree stands void. It would be an insult to my father’s memory if this wedding with that fake was to happen.”
The council members nodded along with her, clearly agreeing to her rather rude and impudent words.

The council head declared out loud in a formal and final tone, “I hereby declare that the marriage agreement with Caro Silva is void because of the hidden identity crisis.”
The Queen narrowed her eyes at Vanessa and tutted at her disappointedly as she said, “How shameless and vile of a woman you must be to court your own sister’s fiancé. You slept with him last night, didn’t you? Don’t try to sugar coat anything, after all, I can read your mind, remember?”
Vanessa flushed in anger and embarrassment and Selena shot a look of utter disbelief at Caro. Her eyes were silently begging him to jump and assure her that was not the truth but Selena winced sharply as she saw Caro bend his head downward shamefully. Selena felt her whole world collapsing right in front of her eyes. She felt deflated and helpless at her circumstances. Today was clearly a bad day for her and to make matters worse, her fiancé was cheating on her with her half sister. She never once took Caro for that kind of a man, given how much of a conservative and gentleman he was and he had showed absolutely no interest in Vanessa before, then what had changed in a single night.

The council head, having enough of the melodrama that was going on in the royal palace, decided to concentrate on the more important matter at hand.
“Selena, the daughter of the Queen of Valyria, what is your final choice? Do you agree to voluntarily give up your claim to the throne or do you accept your punishment for betraying the throne and the citizens of Valyria.”
Selena eyed the council haughtily and remarked stubbornly, “Neither”
With that she walked out of the palace and into the training grounds. The council watched in stunned silence as she walked haughtily out of the palace. Never before had anyone dared to oppose the council’s orders and lived to boast the tale and the council clearly didn’t intend to let it happen today either.

As she walked past Caro, she stopped for a second and spat at him in fury, “I should have listened to my mother’s advice. She had warned me to not give my heart to any man. You disappointed me, Caro Silva.”

With that, without even waiting to hear his justification, she walked out with her head held high in the air. The council head snapped his fingers and the royal guards immediately flurried after Selena, clearly not intending to let her walk out of the palace so idly. Out of anxiety as to what’s going to happen next, the Queen and Caro too rushed after them with everyone else right at their heels.

The royal guards had completely surrounded Selena and was holding their spears pointed at her throat but she looked the least bit affected or bothered by the spears aimed at her throat, instead she merely looked bored and nonpulssed.
The concubine sneered at her, “Your time is done, my dear. How dare you try to fool the throne?”
The council head sighed at the arrogant female vampire who refused to bow her head even after being poked by several spears, form left and right.
He asked her one last time, “Selena, my child, do you admit your wrong doings? Are you willing to give up your claim to the royal throne of Valyria?”

Selena scoffed at the council head in indignation, the veins on her forehead bulging furiously while the Queen watched everything helplessly from the sidelines, unable to do something to protect her own blood and hope.

“Then you leave us with no other choice”, the council head stated firmly and nodded at the head guard and ordered out loud, “Off with the rebel’s head. Let it be a lesson for every Valyrian to not oppose the throne of Valyria.”
Selena scoffed at him in defiance just as the head guard raised his spear in the air.
“Don’t underestimate my power, Sire. You posses neither the power nor the ability to slay me. You are merely kidding yourself into a delusion. Be careful so as not to overstep your boundaries cause you may not have the guts to handle the severity of the outcomes.”
“Are you threatening me?”, the council head asked, seething with anger at her spitefulness.
She raised an eyebrow challengingly at the council head and spat at him with venom in her voice, “Yes, I am. Do you really think you have the capability in you to defeat me?”
The council head narrowed his eyes at her and Selena smirked at him and snapped her fingers. The guards surrounding her were soon surrounded by small typhoons and tossed into the air helplessly.

“You will never be my equal neither will you ever be able to defeat me. You just lost your biggest asset today and gained your worst enemy.”, Selena spat at him manically, losing her temper at the lot of them.

She whistled in to the air and within seconds, they could hear giant flapping of wings in the air. They looked up dazed to see the Falak dragon landing safely next to Selena, and she without hesitation climbed on top of the dragon as if she was just mounting a horse.
“Mark my words, there will come a time when you will need my assistance. You will be on your knees, begging me to save you. Adios, so long, losers.”
With that she slightly nudged the dragon in the neck and the dragon let out a roar of fire in response and leapt into the sky towards the unknown.
