Chapter 61: Love in the Labyrinth of death!
Selena raised an eyebrow cockily at him, determined to attack him vigorously until he makes a move back but he refused to bulge from the spot and took all her vicious beatings without a word which further infuriated her and Selena wasn’t a very forgiving or a patient woman.
She narrowed her eyes at him, wondering if he was mocking her capabilities and powers by not striking back. She flushed embarrassed, felling both offended as well as humiliated and increased the force of her attacks. Even though she increased her force, she was still holding back and never truly using her full potential as a part of her was afraid of hurting him for real and was worried about him despite his supposed betrayal. A part of her wondered why she was still showing him mercy as she wasn’t a woman who was big on forgiveness and second chances, yet deep inside, she found herself hoping that there was a justifiable reason for it and that he would assure her that everything was for a reason.
Dominic wavered, unable to take the burnt force of it all and Selena found herself hesitating to attack with the final blow, that would undoubtedly end the duel in favor of her. She however bit her under lip uncertainly, not wanting to win over an opponent who wasn’t even fighting her back.
Him not fighting her back rubbed her the wrong way and she couldn’t move on with her attacks because of a rather, heavy and guilty heart. She lowered her stance, realizing that it was quite not an honorable battle and refused to attack any further, now being seriously worried for him despite her initial beliefs, she was starting to waver much to her own dismay. She dropped her hands and stared him down, pissed off and he finally made eye contact with her after regaining his foothold.
What Selena saw in those eyes took her breath away and created an ache in her otherwise ice cold heart. Dominic’s eyes had a raw anguish and intense pain passing through it and Selena frowned, wondering if she had really hurt him that bad? After all, she had pulled back her punches unconsciously, not being able to hurt him even after all he had done.
A part of her desperately wanted to hear him out while the other part of her firmly shut that very notion out. Her stubborn pride was getting in the way.
She slumped out her shoulders resignedly and Dominic stepped forward and took hold of her hands in his and made eye contact with her intensely. She eyed him warily, but didn’t take her hands away from his and that was all the encouragement he had needed that she had finally calmed down and was willing to hear him out.
“Stop confusing me. You clearly don’t like me and merely intended to use me as a stepping stone for taking over the throne of Valyria. Stop making excuses. I already know your plan and I assure you that it will never work with me.”, Selena snapped at him, still hurt and furious by the revelation she had heard from his father.
Dominic cursed his father internally as that old man did him a lot of troubles rather than good and he was getting tired off his father’s know it all attitude and his pompous and arrogant behavior. Now, this very behavior of his father had put him in a tight spot in front of the woman he loved and adored. He was tired of his father’s unwanted interferences in his life and was determined to put him in his place after he exited this place.
Dominic let go of her hands and shood her shoulders vividly and muttered, “Selena, you are the love of my life and I constantly worry that I am not a man who is worthy of you. Yes, I am not trying to justify my actions. I had merely led on my father to believe in that unnecessary premises because I didn’t want him to make any unnecessary troubles for us when he realizes that I was truly and so hopelessly in love with you. Believe me, my darling, I didn’t have any wrong intentions.”
Selena hesitated and try to contemplate over his words with a calm and logical mind and it kind of made sense, judging his father’s prudish character for him to hide his true intentions from his father.
Selena however wasn’t fully convinced and murmured, “Even if we do get married in the future, you will never gain control of Valyria.”
He nodded at her and sighed, “What can I do to make you believe me that Valyria had never been my dream or end goal…..you are.”
Selena eyes softened at the vulnerable man standing in front of her.
“Besides, a part of me still believed in me and our love otherwise you wouldn’t have come back for me and saved me from that fog.”, he declared confidently and Selena rolled her eyes at him and snapped at him, “I would have done the same for anybody.”
Dominic scoffed at her disbelievingly, clearly not believing a word out of the nonsense she was spewing and murmured teasingly, “Liar!”
A small smile broke out of her face despite her intentions and she giggled at him, at having been caught red handed.
Dominic took the cue and kissed her ferociously on her lips, desperate to prove his true feelings to her in order to avoid any further misunderstandings.
He was kissing her so ardently and so desperately like a man who had been starved of water had finally stumbled upon a river. She moaned in pleasure and found herself responding back to his ardent kissed and he felt a shiver rolling through his back.
His finger tips got rid of the hair on her shoulder and his right hand caressed her neck softly.
Reading his intentions, she broke the kiss and murmured teasingly, “that was the exact same spot your grand uncle took me”
He immediately let go of her neck and Selena bit back her laugh as she titled her neck and offered the other side of her neck.
His eyes gleamed with desire as he eyed her bare neck and without hesitation sucked on the skin, slowly caressing it and spiling it before biting into it and drawing the blood form her.
Selena moaned out on pleasure and his desire started getting out of hands. Before long they were completely naked and lying in each other’s arm. Selena scoffed, still in disbelief that they had made passionate love in a place which is none other than the Labyrinth of death.
Dominic seemed to be thinking along her same lines and he laughed out louds too at the incredulousness of the situation. They were supposed to be battling it out till one of them was too worn out to continue. Well, he was worn out but not because of the supposed duel. He tickled her belly and buried himself in her as he smiled contentedly, hoping that this moment right there stays forever.
“This place definitely makes our first time together rather memorable”, she said sarcastically as she lay on the ground and Dominic titled his head and laughed out loud.
