12. Naive
CHAPTER TWELVE
“You are being irrational about this, Adrian,” Trina followed him in a feeble attempt to stop the latter. But that was the thing about Adrian. He wasn’t someone that could be easily swayed and very much more stubborn than his sister. He had a mind of his own and once he was set to do something, he wouldn’t stop until he had seen it through.
“Stay out of this Trisha,” he grumbled, giving a nod of confirmation to Darius who instantly began preparing the were dragons for attack. They were first in line to attack, something that Adrian believed would wound the werewolves heavily, enough to cripple them when the remaining hunters, the Enchanted Coven witches and Vampires attacked.
“Its Trina and no, I’m not staying out of this. Innocent people would get hurt including my two best friends. Now, I know you can live with people getting hurt but I can’t. I could care less about everyone else but Sasha and Nadia are my family and I’d be damned if I let you hurt them in any way,” she snapped just as Adrian came to a sudden halt and in an instant, had her back pressed against a really old oak tree.
How had they gotten away from the camp without her noticing? Breath caught in her throat as she stared into Adrian’s gaze. His eyes dropped to her lips, running his thumb across its edge as he smirked. No, not the kind that chills you to the bone. The way his lips curved into a seductive smirk made her entire body aware of him so close to hers. This was worst possible timing but she couldn’t stop the hunger suddenly clawing through her.
“I’ve seen the way you look at me,” he whispered, enjoying the fact that he was making her restless.
“W-What are you talking about?” In her head, the response had sounded less mortified than how it slipped off her lips. Dammit! She hated him for making her this unsettled and very much fighting the urge to rip his shirt off him. They had only met a few hours ago but from the second, his gaze held hers, she knew she was damned. He was nothing like his ex-boyfriend Sean and maybe that is what set her whole body on fire.
“The longing stares,” he dragged the back of his fingers on the side of her face, “Like you want to rip the clothes off me,” he leaned forward, his warm breath teasing the tip of her nose, “And you want me deep inside you, wrecking your body in the most beautiful ways until you are unsalvageable,” His hands slid lower to her neck, gently squeezing,” You want me, Trina and I like that you do,”
“Then what are you waiting for?” she breathed.
He smirked,” For you to stop thinking we could ever be more after we fuck,”
“You are so fucking delusional! I would never expect anything more than just sex from a guy I only met a few hours ago,” she denied, wishing he would just close the damn distant and kiss her like hell was about to break lose, which in a way it was.
“Am I?”
She pushed his away from her neck, “Why did I think you were anything like Nadia? You are so egoistical and self-centered that you bring the worst jerks I’ve met to shame,”
She proceeded to walk away but he grabbed her wrist, whisking her around as he smashed his lips against hers hard, almost as though he was trying to destroy her mouth in the most beautiful way. Her coursed through her as she kissed him back, his hands finding the zip of her trouser. For the first time in her life, she didn’t care about anything else except for the heat taking control on her body, igniting her in a way she’d never felt before.
“Wait,” he suddenly stopped, breathing fast as he took a step back.
“What? Is something wrong?” she questioned. Was it her breath? Did she eat something earlier that perhaps-
“Stop overthinking, Trina,” he paused, “There is a nice spot by the lake. So if we are going to hook up, then that would be perfect. I just need to grab something from my tent and I’ll meet you by the lake in say two minutes,” he leaned in, placing a kiss on her supple lips, “I better find you naked,”
He winked as he walked away. When he was gone, she found herself zipping up her slacks before walking the a few paces to the Lake. Its waters were glimmering under the stars, a very much inviting spectacle. Taking off her clothes, she lay on her back after spreading her shirt under her. Closing her eyes, she found herself reminiscing about the hot make-out session she’d just shared with him. Biting her bottom lip, she trekked her fingers over the outline of her panties and she could feel the wetness under her fingers when she put ran the tips over her entrance. It was just a kiss, very hot one, enough to make her wet. She hadn’t felt like this, not in a really long while. She wondered if he was as big as his arrogance.
“Hot, naked and wet. Is this an invitation?” She let out a small scream, quickly covering up her breasts as she looked at Caleb.
“W-What are you doing here?” She hated the Vampire King more than she’d ever loathed anyone. He was an unforgiving womanizer, never watched what he said and in the worst ways reminded her of Sean.
Caleb leaned down to a squat, taking out his leather coat as he handed it to her, “That little human boy you are waiting for, isn’t coming. He just wanted you occupied and of course, being the naïve girl you are, you fell for it,”
“Like I’m supposed to believe a word you say,” she shook her head.
He stood up, “Adrian is already gone with the were dragons and they have launched an attack. Now, he may care so much about his sister’s life but trust me, he doesn’t give a shit about you or your other friend. Take it or leave it,”
He walked away and yet just as he claimed, her naivety made her stay, waiting and hoping that it was not a lie. Hot tears burned down her cheeks as she realized she’d been played; again.
