A Conversation At Night

POV: Alexandra

I don’t quite know what compelled me to come to see Lucien after having the dream that I did but I really didn’t want to talk to Jess about this. Something within me told me that Lucien was the right person to talk to about my dream. We were sitting by a large window that was overlooking the lake and he had handed me a drink which was so thoughtful since my throat was bit dry. I took a large drink of the water which felt so nice going down. I looked at him and told him what I saw in my dream. He sat there for a little while just staring at me, he leaned forward after a while, “How do you know it was him?” I looked down at glass in my hands, “I knew because he made me feel things I never felt before. My heart was beating and there was heat in my cheeks. He called me his love and to remember that I belonged to him. I woke up shortly after that.” He rubbed his face, “You don’t happen to know which one it was. Do you?” I shook my head, “I had never met him before but I wonder if I can ask Aphrodite.” He got up out of his seat and he strode over to the window and stared out of it. As he stood there with his hair loose, shirtless I realized that most girls in this situation would be flustered at the site. He was a gorgeous man and he had all the qualities that women are looking for in both a husband and perspective father. He was kind, considerate, and was protective yet not overbearing.

He turned to look at me, “And you said that Mordred would help you find out who it was? Perhaps you could just ask Aphrodite about it then. Do you know how to contact her?” I remembered that I was able to call for her and she brought me to Eden at that time. I nodded, “I think I should try that right now.” He looked a little startled, “Right now? Does that mean that you will disappear or will she come here?” He looked as if he wasn’t dressed properly for the occasion of meeting a Goddess. He walked quickly over to his wardrobe and pulled out a grey t-shirt. He pulled it onto his body and then nodded at me that he was not having an issue with me doing it now. I looked up, “Aphrodite? Can you hear me?” The room went bright and suddenly both Lucien and I were in Eden. He looked around confused and then looked at me, “Where are we?” I smiled looking around for Aphrodite, “We are in Eden in the Heavenly realm.” His eyes widened as Aphrodite walked into view and she looked over at Lucien and smiled, “I figured I should look upon the man himself.” She walked around Lucien looking him up and down, “Yes, I can see what she means. You have greatness in you, Lucien.” He looked at me and she laughed, “Not her. I can’t tell you who it is but you have another Goddess keeping an eye on you and your actions. She’s very impressed.”

Aphrodite summoned some chairs and table for us to sit at, “Please sit and we can have a chat about what it is that you summoned me for.” We both took our seats and she smiled at me, “So you wanted to chat?” I nodded and took a deep breath, “I don’t know if you are aware that I am cursed by a God.” She frowned and then nodded, “I was told, yes. I suppose you would like to know who it is huh?” I folded my hands in my lap and squeezed, “Yes, I would like to know who it is that is preventing me from falling in love with someone other than him.” She shrugged, “I really don’t know. I was not told because as you are aware that we are not allowed to interfere with other Gods or Goddess’ plans.” I remembered her telling me that when we were needing to talk to Brigit. I started to sink into a small depression with the realization that the easiest answer to my question wasn’t really so easy. Lucien cleared his throat, “Could not know who it is if Alexandra were to tell you his description?” She looked at me, “Child, did you see him?” I looked at her in her eyes, “Yes, I saw him in one of my prophetic dreams.” She waved her hand, “You can provide me with his description and I can tell you who it might be.” I breathed quickly in the excitement that I would finally have answers, “He was about Lucien’s height, maybe just an inch or two smaller. His hair was long and green with green eyes.” Aphrodite looked up and was deep in thought, likely using my description to run through all the Gods in the Heavenly realm. She sighed and shook her head, “I think he might have disguised himself. He absolutely can be the height that you describe and that would be a physical trait he really can’t change. The length of his hair too but the hair and eye color may have been masked to keep you from going to me to find out who it is.” Lucien grunted, “That’s frustrating. Can you narrow it down at the very least?” She nodded, “I know of, at least, six Gods that match the height and hair description. I can immediately eliminate Apollo but just to be sure I can ask him to come here.” She rose from her seat and disappeared. I drew a sharp breath and Lucien grabbed my hands which were ringing in my lap, “Are you okay?” I shrugged, “I think I’m anxious because he helped to make my soul. In essence, he’s my soul father.”

Aphrodite reappeared smiling, “He will be here shortly. I warn you though that he might be a bit grumpy.” A golden orb appeared behind her and with a flash of light, a tall man with long black hair appeared. He glared down at Aphrodite, “Why did you summon me? I’m a busy man as it is day time in Terre.” She waved her hand at me, “Apollo, meet Alexandra our child.” He looked over at me and the scowl on his face immediately softened, “You could have mentioned that when you summoned me. Alexandra, stand up child. Let me see you.” I rose to my feet smiling and he walked briskly over to me and threw his arms around me and spun me about. He set me on my feet and smiled down at me, “How are you, child?” I looked up at him, “I am well but I am here to find out who cursed me.” His eyebrows furrowed and he looked over at Aphrodite, “Who cursed our child?” Aphrodite shrugged, “It was a God so we don’t know who. He appeared to her in a prophetic dream so she had a basic description. He was tall with long hair.” He rolled his eyes, “So that’s why you summoned me? You suspected me? Why would I ever want to curse my own child.” She shook her head, “It was an excuse for you to meet her and fall in love with her beauty and personality. You’re so hands off with your children. I figure if you at least met one, you’d care a little bit more. At least about one of them.” He smiled down at me and shrugged, “I guess you finally got me. I need to find the ass who decided it was a good idea to curse my child and give him a piece of my mind. What kind of curse is it?” She clenched her jaw, “Love.” His eyes widened, “How is it that a God is interfering with your work?” She shrugged, “I really have no idea but I wonder if the All Mighty knows about it.” He patted me on the head and walked off, “I’m going to go talk to him.” With that he disappeared and I turned to Aphrodite, “Shouldn’t you have stopped him? Won’t he get in trouble with the All Mighty?” She shook her head, “He’s actually a favorite of the All Mighty so he won’t get in trouble.” I sat down and relaxed back in my seat, “I’m still anxious that he will get in trouble. I don’t want anyone fretting about me.” She giggled, “He should fret, he doesn’t help his children so let him. It’s the first time I’ve seen him fired up about something in a while. It was so very amusing, let me have this dear.”

Lucien leaned forward, “Will he be able to find out who did this to her?” She bit her lip, “It depends on if the All Mighty ordered the God to curse you. If he didn’t, Apollo won’t be able to find out anything and will effectively put the big man on the war path to find out who it was that acted out of turn.” Lucien leaned back in his chair, “So then by going to All Mighty Himself, he effectively gets someone to find out for him. Would He tell him who He ordered to curse her if that was the case?” She shook her head, “Likely no, it would be for him to know and likely for a reason.” The golden orb showed up again after he said that and Apollo appeared with a furrowed brow. Aphrodite looked at him, “What did he say?” He clenched his jaw, “He doesn’t know but now that He’s aware He simply said that was not His plans for our child and that He would seek out the culprit and punish him to the fullest extent.”
