Chapter 16 You Tried to Seduce Him
"What's the matter?"
After calming down for a while, Victoria finally found her voice.
"I heard from Leila that you married a useless man instead of Xenia." A magnetic voice echoed behind Victoria.
"What does it have to do with you who I marry?"
Victoria replied coldly without even turning her head.
But in front of her, Victoria could see Lance's reflection in the mirror.
Lance was Victoria's college classmate, tall, handsome, and domineering.
During Victoria's teenage years, she had no immunity to this type of man. So, after Lance actively pursued Victoria for a period of time, Victoria gave up her principle of not dating during school and established a romantic relationship with Lance.
As a beautiful and graceful young woman, Victoria had no shortage of suitors.
After Victoria and Lance started dating, Victoria became cold to the advances of other men, leaving only Lance as her male companion in her social circle.
Victoria really planned to spend her life with Lance.
Lance also promised Victoria that he would engage Victoria after Victoria graduated from college.
But on the day before their engagement, Leila climbed onto Lance's bed.
What Victoria found most unacceptable was that Lance was not drunk or drugged...
Lance was very sober and yet did such a shameful thing with Leila...
Since then, Victoria had severed all ties with Lance.
Victoria never thought that she would meet Lance again in such a situation today.
Lance gazed at Victoria's graceful figure.
"Victoria, you don't have to pretend anymore. I know you still love me. You came here today just to see me, and you married that useless man from the Haines family just to punish me."
Victoria didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Victoria moved her lips but suddenly realized that she didn't even want to waste strength to explain to Lance.
So, she turned off the tap, turned around, and was about to away.
"Victoria!"
Lance suddenly rushed over and tightly hugged Victoria from behind.
"I know you. When you don't speak, it means you agree with me. I am right. You still love me, isn't that true?"
Victoria didn't know if Lance had been influenced by Leila after spending too much time with Leila, or if she had been blinded by love before and didn't realize that Lance was this despicable.
Victoria's eyes were filled with sarcasm.
"You don't deserve to touch me. Let me go."
However, Lance held Victoria tighter, and his hot lips were pressed against Victoria's ear. "I want you to answer me truthfully. If you don't, I will never let you go."
Victoria had the urge to kill.
Victoria wanted to tear off Lance's mask and curse at Lance fiercely.
But Lance's strength was too great. Lance had Victoria in a tight grip, suffocating her and making it difficult for her to breathe, let alone speak.
At that moment, Edmund emerged from the neighboring restroom.
Seeing Victoria, he slowed down his steps.
Upon closer inspection, Edmund saw Lance tightly embracing Victoria. In an instant, a knife seemed to cut open a wound in his heart, and unprecedented anger and jealousy rushed out of this wound.
Edmund's dark eyes turned cold as ice, and a low roar emanated from his throat.
"Take your dirty hands off her!"
Victoria trembled in shock at the voice.
When Victoria looked up, she saw Edmund's face full of killing intent, and she was so frightened that she forgot to struggle.
Even the usually domineering Lance was intimidated by Edmund's chilling aura.
In the next moment, Lance raised his eyebrows coldly.
"Victoria and I have private matters to discuss, which have nothing to do with you."
Edmund's lips curled in disdain, but he said nothing more.
Instead, Edmund strode over to Victoria and punched Lance in the face.
"Ah!"
Edmund's strength was astonishing.
Lance fell to the ground, his eyes seeing stars, two bloody teeth falling to the ground, and blood flowing from his mouth.
"Ah, Mr. Hadley is injured! Take him to the hospital quickly!"
Immediately, two waiters came to carry Lance away.
Edmund didn't bother to look at Lance again, but instead, he stared coldly at Victoria, raised his hand, and struck Victoria in the face.
"No..."
Victoria was scared and quickly backed away.
However, before Victoria could take a step back, her leg hit the edge of the sink, causing her to lose her balance and fall backward.
Just as Victoria was about to hit her head on the faucet, Edmund's right arm had already caught her waist and lifted her up.
Xenia, who had come from the dining room to the restroom, was stunned like a nail in place when she saw this scene.
When Victoria regained her senses from the excessive shock, Edmund had already imprisoned Victoria in his arms. Edmund pinched Victoria's chin and forcibly raised Victoria's small face with his right hand.
"So scared of me?"
Victoria nodded in panic.
Victoria had every reason to be afraid of him!
Victoria knew that Edmund was ruthless, and she had witnessed the cruel methods of Edmund in dealing with the four scumbags who tried to invade her.
But even then, Edmund had never been as cold and terrifying as he was now.
Victoria felt that Edmund's icy gaze was enough to kill a person a million times over.
"Is it because you feel guilty?"
Edmund's voice grew even colder.
At this point, the image of Lance tightly embracing Victoria still lingered in his mind like a high-definition photo, making him feel suffocated and heartbroken...
Victoria was stunned.
Edmund's aura was too strong, making it difficult for her to speak normally.
"Wh... why should I feel guilty..."
"Because you promised me just yesterday that you would be faithful to me!"
"Oh..." Victoria immediately understood.
Victoria still couldn't bring herself to meet Edmund's gaze, and with a hint of reluctance, Victoria explained, her eyes brimming with tears.
"You should have seen that it was Lance who was holding onto me tightly. I only feel fear towards him. I can barely even see him before I start to hide. How could I possibly try to seduce him? You misunderstood me."
"Is that so?"
Edmund was surprised to find that he was no longer as upset as before.
It was not because of Victoria's explanation, but because Victoria had called Lance a scumbag.
Edmund's ink-like clear eyes softened slightly.
"Remember, even if it was a misunderstanding, you should try to avoid this kind of situation in the future. Otherwise, people might misunderstand that my wife is promiscuous."
After saying this, Edmund turned around and left.
Even though Edmund was cold to the bone, when he moved away from Victoria, Victoria felt a warmth missing, confused and lost.
Xenia was still standing in front of the restroom door, her clear and innocent eyes fixed on Edmund.
Xenia hadn't heard what Edmund said to Victoria, but she had seen them whispering to each other.
Edmund had noticed Xenia, but he ignored her and walked away coldly.
Xenia was even more resentful, and she walked up to Victoria angrily.
Staring at Victoria, Xenia lowered her voice and said, "Not long ago in the dining room, I felt like something was off between you and Edwin. You're a bitch. After seeing Edwin yesterday, you must be jealous that I have such a perfect boyfriend, so, you tried to seduce him, is that right?"
