Chapter 7 A Contract

Edward forced a smile, and his voice trembled unconsciously.
"I just... heard about it."
"If someone hadn't planned to hurt my wife, those four people wouldn't have broken into your house without alarming the security guards and just happened to break into the attic just after my wife came home."
Edmund, who was as noble as a king, still gave others a condescending manner, even though he was shorter than Edward because he was sitting in a wheelchair.
"The person who ordered them to hurt my wife is in your family."
Victoria immediately admired Edmund.
The moment those men broke into the attic, Victoria thought that someone in this family must be trying to harm her again.
She didn't expect Edmund, an outsider, to see everything through with just a glance!
"Um..."
Edward was intimidated by Edmund's aura. His lips trembled violently. His fat face had long turned pale, and he couldn't even utter a complete sentence.
"It happened in your house. As a man of the house, you have to take the responsibility. I'll give you 24 hours to find out who is behind the scenes. Otherwise, I will let you end up like those four men."
Edmund's voice was still calm.
But Edward seemed to hear a thunderclap and squatted onto the ground with a "bang".
"It had nothing to do with me, Edmund! I knew nothing about this matter, Edmund..."
"Shut up!"
Edmund interrupted Edward in a cold voice.
"You and Lacey don't deserve to call me Edmund. From now on, if either of you dare to call me that again, I will cut off your tongues."
Edward stared blankly at Edmund, not daring to say any word.
Lacey, who had been petrified long ago, felt her legs go limp at this moment, and she fell onto the ground.
Edmund never looked at Edward and Lacey again.
In the business world, Edmund had met all kinds of people, and inevitably, there were treacherous villains among them. However, this was the first time he had seen someone as shameless as Edward and Lacey.
If it wasn't for the girl's life-saving grace, he wouldn't have let these two be his parents-in-law...
"Are you going or not?"
Edmund's eyes swept across Victoria's face.
Victoria hurriedly shifted her mocking eyes away from the faces of Edward and Lacey.
"I'll go right away."
At this moment, Xenia was quietly standing in the corner upstairs.
She saw the scene of Edmund dealing with Edward and Lacey.
Edmund's aura was so strong that Xenia didn't dare to appear. She could only watch as Victoria pushed Edmund towards the door.
Victoria did not wrong her!
Xenia was the mastermind behind those four people.
She wanted that bitch Victoria to be violated and unable to turn over.
But Xenia was not worried. She thought she had made a perfect plan, without leaving any evidence. Even Edmund couldn't do anything to her.
Thinking of Edmund, she didn't expect him to still be so powerful even if he was disabled...
Xenia snorted!
No matter how strong Edmund was, he was still an ugly disabled person. Compared to the one who repaid her, Xenia thought Edmund was an insignificant, frivolous little beast!
In the eyes of Xenia, the person who repaid her was as noble and perfect as Prince Charming.
Two days ago, the man took the initiative to find Xenia, and Xenia fell in love with him the first time she saw him...
...
Edmund's extended Bugatti was parked in the yard.
When Victoria pushed Edmund to the front of the car, Jack hurried over.
"Mr. Haines, I have finished those four people according to your order. The police will come and take them away later."
Victoria never sympathized with bad guys.
But thinking about the scene of those four men having their hands chopped off, she couldn't help feeling horrified.
Edmund replied coldly, "I see."
"Mrs. Haines, I found this suitcase in the attic. I thought you might need it, so I brought it here for you." A suitcase was placed at Victoria's feet by Jack.
Victoria smiled at him politely.
"Thanks."
Not long ago, she packed all the things she wanted to take away in this suitcase in the attic. But unexpectedly, something happened.
Later, she had to push the wheelchair with both hands and was unable to free up one hand to carry the suitcase, so she had to temporarily leave the suitcase in the attic.
She had planned to go back and get it again.
Victoria didn't expect Edmund's butler to be so thoughtful.
This Bugatti had been specially modified, so the interior space could completely accommodate a wheelchair without being crowded.
Victoria pushed Edmund into the car and sat down at his right hand. Taking a peek at his ugly face, she spoke.
"If you hadn't arrived in time, I might have died. And you helped me teach Edward and Lacey a lesson. Thank you."
"It's unnecessary."
Edmund turned his head towards the window as if he didn't bother to look at her.
"Offending my wife is tantamount to offending my dignity. I do it purely for myself."
Hearing this, Victoria was instantly dumbfounded.
Even so, she still thanked Edmund from the bottom of her heart.
During these fourteen years, every time she was bullied by the Collins family, she could only hide in the corner silently and embrace her shadow. No one had ever helped her or stood up for her.
Edmund was the first person to support her.
At this moment, Edmund put his hands on his face.
Wearing such a high-fidelity mask for a long time would be very uncomfortable. Edmund couldn't wear the mask all the time, so he was taking it off now.
A few seconds later, Edmund took off his mask and turned his head to face Victoria with his real face.
"I know you are smart. So, you will keep some secrets without being reminded, right?"
Victoria mechanically spoke.
"Ye... yes..."
In fact, she had no idea what Edmund was talking about.
She was shocked when she saw Edmund's real face for the first time last night.
She originally thought that she was shocked at his stunning face because the blurred light in the room added a bit of hazy beauty to him.
It turned out that Edmund was even more handsome in the bright light. His facial features were more clearly defined as if carved with care, and his flawless skin seemed to be glowing...
Staring blankly at him, Victoria found her heart beating uncontrollably again, even more violently than when his lips approached her last night.
She had never felt this way before.
"There is a contract. Sign it."
Accompanied by this dull voice, a contract and a signature pen landed on Victoria's lap.
"What... a contract?"
Victoria's thoughts flickered.
"To put it simply, you have to take the initiative to propose a divorce with me in a hundred days. At that time, I will give you a sum of money as compensation. Before the divorce, you must continue to coax my mother as you did today."
Edmund opened his thin lips, speaking as usual, politely and calmly.
But Victoria felt that a basin of ice water seemed to be pouring over her head.
