Chapter 22 They Are Together
Yvette, who was in the driver's seat, looked at Victoria with concern.
When Victoria called out "Edmund", Yvette was worried about Victoria.
Few people dared to call Edmund by his first name, and those were who Edmund cared about.
However, after Victoria did that, Edmund didn't get angry.
Then, Victoria, the ignorant woman, shouted that she wanted to divorce Edmund.
Victoria had married Edmund for two days. Didn't she know how cold and ruthless he was?
Yvette closed her eyes regretfully.
She didn't want to see Edmund strangle Victoria.
Unexpectedly, Edmund didn't do that to Victoria.
Nor did he become cold.
On the contrary, he asked expressionlessly.
"Why?"
"You love Xenia. I don't want to be a stumbling block between you and her. You married me to make your mother happy. After we divorce, you can marry Xenia. Your mother will still be happy, and we don't have to torture each other. Isn't it better?"
Victoria said so many words in one breath, which made her cheeks flush.
"Do you think we're torturing each other?"
Edmund was no longer angry but smiled meaningfully.
It was the first time Victoria saw Edmund smile.
She thought Edmund, who was cold, arrogant, and bad-tempered, did not know how to smile. She didn't expect Edmund to be handsome when he smiled.
He looked like a flower bloomed enchantingly in the radiance, which made people remember it as long as they took a look at it.
Victoria looked at Edmund in a daze. For a moment, she forgot that she was arguing with him.
Suddenly, she felt warmth on her cheeks.
When Edmund came to her senses, Edmund held her face, making it impossible for her to lower her head to avoid his gaze.
His thin lips with perfect curves moved slightly.
"I will let you go after we torture each other for one hundred days. If you dare to mention divorce before the deadline, you will bear the consequences."
With that, Edmund turned around and left.
Boom.
The car door was slammed shut by Edmund.
Victoria watched him go away through the car window. The scene of him and Xenia walking out of the same room floated into her mind.
Her eyes ached.
The next second, she proudly looked away from Edmund.
Victoria wouldn't care about that anymore.
Edmund was just a passerby in her life.
After one hundred days, Victoria and Edmund would take their separate ways, and he would marry Xenia as he wished.
Victoria decided not to take one more look at Edmund.
"Mrs. Haines, you may have misunderstood Lord Hahn," Yvette Ollie, who was in the driver's seat, said respectfully.
Yvette was the one who found Xenia for Edmund eight days before. She and Jack were Edmund's confidants.
Victoria didn't know why Yvette called Edmund "Lord Hahn".
She didn't want to ask about that and just said indifferently.
"How did I misunderstand him?"
"Lord Hahn is different from most other rich people. He is strict with himself and never drinks too much. Lord Hahn is traditional and attaches great importance to his reputation. He won't have sex with a girl before marriage unless he has to."
"Really?"
Victoria thought it was ridiculous,
"Do you mean he had to sleep with Xenia? Did Xenia force him?" Who could force Edmund?
"I am talking about what happened last week instead of today."
Yvette looked at Edmund's tall figure.
"Xenia is lucky. That was Lord Hahn's first time.
"However, Mrs. Haines, Lord Hahn is a man of principle. I dare to assure you with my life that he will never cheat in marriage, even if he has no choice but to marry you. It is impossible for him and Xenia to do anything tonight. You must have misunderstood him."
Victoria couldn't believe that.
As long as there was the first time, there would be a second time.
However...
Edmund was cold and abstinent. How could he do that for the first time with Xenia?
Victoria thought it was incredible.
...
Edmund walked into the lobby of the hotel.
The attendant at the front desk peeked at him and reminded him shyly.
"Sir, your mouth is bleeding."
Edmund didn't care.
The wound on his lip was bitten by himself not long before to resist Victoria's temptation.
Thinking of his lips, Edmund remembered Victoria's lips and the scene in which she took the initiative to kiss him in full view.
Edmund felt that Victoria was somewhat cute.
In contrast, he felt that Xenia was annoying.
Edmund decided not to go back to see Xenia and turned around to leave the hotel.
...
Xenia was still standing in front of the door of room 1125. Her eyes were fixed on the elevator.
Vernon didn't like Xenia, who always put on airs.
Xenia was Victoria's younger sister and would be his sister-in-law, so Vernon talked to her gently.
"Your boyfriend is handsome. You are so lucky."
Xenia raised her chin dismissively.
"Of course."
"Your boyfriend is good-looking and considerate. He cares so much for Victoria, let alone you," Vernon said inadvertently.
However, Xenia was irritated by his words, and her hands trembled.
To attract Edwin's attention, Xenia deliberately fell in front of him. Although Edwin helped her up, he was not as worried and anxious as when Victoria was injured. It was strange.
At that moment, Xenia's phone rang.
The call was from Edwin. Seeing that, she picked the phone up and said in a mild voice.
"Edwin, I've been waiting for you on the 22nd floor. When will you come back?"
"I'm not going back. Can you take a taxi and go home by yourself?" Edmund's voice was cold without a trace of warmth.
With that, Edmund hung up the phone.
Xenia remained in the posture of talking to Edmund for a long time and couldn't come to her senses.
"Isn't he coming back? He must send Victoria home like last time." There came Vernon's gentle voice.
Realizing something was wrong, Xenia shivered.
"Last time? When is the last time?"
