Jacinta's Pov

What's wrong with everyone?

Why do they keep mistaking us for a couple?

"We ain't a couple!" I tell the attendant firmly.

"I'm so sorry ma'am. This way please" he says and leads us to a table by the window side.

Wow, there is a cool breeze here.

It's an expensive hotel with lavish texture.

I've never been here before but my dad used to mention it as the best couple place.

Wait, why did he bring me to a couple's hotel?

"Why did you bring me here?" I ask

"To have lunch. I like the food you. Stop thinking about silly things and make an order" he says and it's irritating me.

We are making orders and he orders a plate of moqueca, a Brazilian seafood stew.

It's really delicious and my mouth waters just be the mention of it.

It's actually pronounced as moo-ke-ka.

The way Swahili people call a mat.

"I'll have the same too" I say excitedly and the waiter takes our order.

"You like moqueca?" Damian is asking.

"Who wouldn't like such a delicious dish? It's a famous dish here in Brazil and it's very delicious. I can just imagine the taste in my mouth" I say and close my eyes just to imagine of the moqueca right infront of me.

So hot and delicious with alitte pepper.

Just how I like it.

Damian's Pov

She seems to have a very big appetite.

Just look at how she is imagining of moqueca.

It's so funny.

She is drawing attention to our table but for the first time in my life, I don't feel bad about it.

Infact I like it.

The waiter has just brought the two plates of moqueca.

"Sir, ma'am, you are the first customers today to order two plates of moqueca stew. Therefore, you have won yourselves a free ticket to our tonight's lovers show. Please do attend and the meal is free for you today" he says smiling.

"A show? Tonight? What is it all about?" Asks Jacinta excitedly.

She looks so much interested about it.

I've heard of these shows severally but have never attended.

It's all about lovers proving their love to each other on stage and the winning couple gets a free ticket to some country for enjoyment, 1 million dollars and a teddy bear for the girl.

It's such a silly show just to waste money.

"We won't come" I say as the waiter has finished explaining things to Jacinta.

"Nooo! I want to come. Please!" Begs Jacinta pouting her lips.

"I thought you said we ain't a couple" I mock her and smile secretly.

"I'll let you guys decide on your own but it will be fun if you come" says the waiter and leaves.

"But it's true we ain't a couple. We are boss and employee" she says and I don't know why I don't like it when she says that.

Thought it's true but I don't like it.

"Then we ain't coming" I say firmly and start to sip my soup silently.

"But...the teddy bear and the one million dollars. I want it!" She says and her eyes are sparkling in excitement.

"Since when did employees and their bosses participate in such games together?" I ask and she is silent.

"You can as well have your lunch alone!" She says and turns her chair towards the window.

Now people are looking at us.

"Is there a problem with the food ma'am?" Asks an attendant who just comes over and I've dropped my spoon.

I've never been embarrassed this much before.

"He is the problem, not the food" she says without even looking at me.

"What did I do?" I ask astonished.

"No, you dint nothing. Just have your food!" She says and keeps looking away.

"Sir, did you guys fight?" Asks the attendant.

"Leave us!" I say and he goes away.

"Stop acting like a small kid Jacinta. Turn back and have your meal" I say and I've picked up my spoon.

I'm having my soup but she is seriously looking away.

It's her own problem anyway, I can't starve because of her childish behaviour and I keep eating.

It's been three minutes and she is still not looking at me.

"What type of man is that who can eat when the girlfriend is not eating? Such a cruel man" says a voice of a woman behind me.

"He can't even sooth his own girlfriend and make her happy" says another

"They look perfect together but this man is so cruel" says another and I can hear them clearly.

Now this is irritating me.

"Jacinta stop this! Turn and eat right now! I command you!" I say and Jacinta turns to face me angrily.

"You can force a cow to the river but you can't force it to drink water!" She says angrily in a high tone and turns to the window again.

"Get up and pamper your girl man" says a man at the middle table loudly and everyone is agreeing with him.

You will pay for this Jacinta.

"Drop your ego and sooth your girl. She is such a lovely girl and shouldn't look gloomy like that" says another man and I can't take it anymore.

Can you believe that I'm on my knees infront of Jacinta?

"If I get you fired after this, will you blame me? If I ask you to pay my money right now, will you be able to do that? Stop this game and turn over to eat. Else, you are fired and you pay up my money before I leave from here" I say all these in her left ear with a smile on my face.

"No, don't fire me" she says in my ear.

"Very well darling, you have forgiven me right?" I say that out loudly as I stand up and clean my trousers as I'm looking at Jacinta.

"Y-yes" she says hesitantly.

"Then turn over and let's eat. The food will get cold and it's not good for a girl like you to stay hungry" I say once again loudly.

"You keep running up and down the office stairs, you need to eat" I say that in her ears and peck her left cheek softly.

With that, the people around are clapping and Jacinta turns her chair with a surprised look.

I'm sure she did not expect I'd kiss her cheeks.

I wouldn't do it too but I had to so that the people would be convinced.

I know these type of people so well.

Anyway, she's got soft cheeks.
