Mr Merkian's Pov

My wife and I are ready to leave for work since Damian is not around.

I sent so many of my bodyguards to look for him all over Africa.

He is such a stubborn boy!

I have just 5 bodyguards left with me since I've always noticed a black van always after me.

My wife and I are now out of our Mansion and....

Where are my guards!

Why is the gate open?

Some men which are not my men, are coming towards us.

I turn and see others coming from inside my house.

Who are they?

How did they get in?

They are all pointing guns towards us.

"Hello, Dad?" Says a voice and the men infront of us make way for their leader.

"Who are you? What do you want from us?" I ask.

It's not my first time in such a situation so I ain't scared but my wife.

She has never been in such a state before.

"Wow dad, you forgot you had another son? Since you adopted another one from nowhere?" Asks the man who is putting on a mask but is now pulling it off.

He has a scar on his left cheek and with that, I know who he is.

"James!" I say in so much shock in my voice.

"You finally realised who I am, or is it the scar that reminded you? I also can't forget this scar dad! " he says arrogantly.

"Is he Delilah's son?" Asks my wife since she knows about Delilah but had never met James before.

"Shut up you barren husband snatcher!" Yells James and his words cut deep into my heart.

"I won't let you stand here and insult my wife like that! Say what you want and leave!" I yell but he laughs arrogantly.

"When you used to insult my mother everyday, I never talked back but today I just said a truth to your mistress, and you yell. Wow dad!" He says

"What do you want James?" I ask firmly

"I want what belongs to me!" He answers firmly.

"I have nothing that belongs to you James! Your mother took all her shares from the company we had started and the house. She left me penniless. I became bankrupt for years James! I started from scratch, with the help of Selina by my side! Tell your mother to give you what she took from me!" I yell back at him.

Actually James is my biological son from my first wife Delilah.

Delilah is a woman I had loved so much from deep down my heart.

I loved her with all I had.

When I started Merkian group of companies, I gave her 50% shares of the company.

We had our first son, James, a year after the company stood firmly.

I dint know Delilah was like the Delilah in the bible.

She was just after the money since she already saw the success of my company.

She had another man with a different company in Kenya.

I found out and confronted her about it.

She asked for forgiveness and I forgave her because I loved her.

When James was 5 years old, our fights in the house about the men she had were becoming more.

We argued everyday but I never gave up since I knew I had a son who needed both of us.

Delilah fed lies into James and he began to hate me.

I no longer had a bond with my son.

She kept telling James that I was having an affair with my Secretary so James Hated me.

Actually Selina was my Secretary then.

She used to ask me to hold on for my family because of James.

Selina was my greatest comfort but I never had any affair with her.

Delilah kept accusing me of sleeping with Selina but it was never true.

She was just a secretary and a friend.

I still fought for them but then... Delilah got pregnant.

I inquired about it because we had not made love for over a year.

Yes, a year!

And in that one year, I also never had any other woman.

Not even a prostitute.

I was loyal to her.

I found out that it was for the same Kenyan business man.

They were still together.

We had a fight that day and James got in between.

With anger, I pushed him to the wall and his face got banged on a sharp wall making him get the scar on his face.

James hated me even more.

I was so heartbroken and decided to divorce Delilah.

I was going to raise James on my own but Delilah was ready to sleep with the judge to win the case.

She took James with him along with the 50% shares of the company.

She also added so many expenses saying that i used to beat her and that's why she went out with other men.

The judge who was in her favour drew more money from me and I went bankrupt.

I had debts all over and I had to pay up with the little I had saved up for James's studies.

After that, she travelled to Kenya with her new husband.

She later sent me pictures of her wedding.

She looked so happy but I was broken deep down.

The workers in my company left.

Everyone mocked me and called me a loser.

I became a drunkard and I almost committed suicide until Selina came to me as I was about to drink poison.

"It's not the end of life. There is still hope for a tree that has been cut down. It can start out as a small stem but later grow into a huge beautiful tree" that's what she said to me and I left the glass of poisoned wine and followed her.

Since that day when she took my hand in hers, she never let go of my hand.

She has been there for me.

With her life savings, she helped me to revive Merkian group of companies.

With her help, I met my childhood friend Clegg.

Actually he was an orphan who was helped to study by my parents.

None of his family friends was ready to help me so I took him as my own brother.

When I met Clegg, he was opening up another branch of his company in Rio.

He had to stop his project to revive my company.

Even if he is dead now, I will never forget his good deeds.

He helped me and Selina alot.

Selina was like an angel sent to me.

I had nothing in my pockets but she never gave up on me.

When Merkian group of companies was back to its feet, I could not think of any other woman to spend the rest of my life with.

I proposed to Selina.

She wasn't ready to marry me at first since she considered me as her boss but later, she willingly agreed.

I never gave up on her nor will I cheat on her.

She is the woman of my life, my lover and my bestfriend.
