Chapter 38

Athena was shocked when she saw him, "Leo," she called, "wow, I wasn t expecting to see you here," she gulped, wondering when he got there and what he would be doing in front of the door of the lady s room.
Leo with his black eyes sparkling with intelligence, smiled, "oh, I have been around for a while. Sean called me and said he was going at the new club Emperor opened and wanted me to meet him there. I was about leaving when I saw you and I was surprised, Sean never leaves you alone and that left me wondering, what s going on? And then Esperanza came in and made everything more interesting," he laughed, "and just when I thought I have seen enough and off to meet my friend, I saw her follow you and I knew the show wasn t over yet so I came over to watch the rest of it or in this case, listen to the rest of it."
Athena didn t know what to say after his explanation and just then she remembered something, the dark shadow that have been watching her all through the time she was in the room, was that him? She looked up in shock and saw him smile.
"I can see you have put two and two together," he grinned, "come on, I would love to see the look on Sean s face when he sees me coming in with you. Join me to Emperor; believe me when I say that the party there would be more fun than the one here. Only amateurs are here, I can t believe I wasted my time for no good reason," he rolled his eyes but chuckled as well.
Athena was surprised, this would be the third time she was meeting him and all he ever talks about was fun and things that would interest him, it was almost like he lives for nothing again. "I m sorry but I don t think I m in the mood for another party, I will like to go home."
"And be alone in that big house? Darling, the house might be fascinating but trust me, you don t want to be in it alone."
Athena smiled, "I won t be alone, Rodger and Blake are always home."
"Yeah, and how many times have you ever had a good conversation with them?" He raised an eyebrow and Athena didn t answer, she has never had a conversation with them, all they do is take orders. Smith is more conversing than them in his little words but he is always with Sean so whenever he was at home, Sean would be at home. "Come on, you don t need to worry about anything, Sean and TB are there, they won t let anything happen to you."
Athena thought about it, if Sean is there, she would be more relaxed and TB would try everything to make her laugh, honestly, where they would be would be more fun than here. "Plus, you don t need to think on whatever nonsense Esperanza said, trust on Sean to tell you the story himself, you will find out you made wrong assumption if you don t wait for him and trust me, you will regret any action you took then. I have been with Sean for seventeen years and I will tell you that it has not been easy for him and whatever he did was out of frustration, so don t judge him till you know the full story," Leo added, surprising her. She looked at him and he was smiling at her fondly, it was the most sincere smile she had ever seen on his face.
"Let me talk to Gloria," she said and he grinned, his grinning reminded her that Gloria is his ex. Damn.
They walked back to the room and she signaled Gloria away, she briefly searched for Esperanza with her eyes but she was no longer in the room and she noticed that a few other people had left. Gloria approached her with worry, "gracious, what took you so long? I have been looking for you, come, we have to go," she grabbed her hand and started pulling her out.
"Wait, where are we going?" Athena asked, she was surprised that she didn t have to give reasons for leaving.
"I just got a call, the reason that the big shots aren t here tonight is because they are in a club called Emperor, we have to go," she giggled.
Athena opened her mouth and closed it, what was she to say?
"What is it?" Gloria asked, noticing the differences in her.
"Gloria," Leo called behind her and she looked at him, "looking as beautiful as always."
"And what is he doing here?" She asked.
"Come on sugarplum; don t be like that with me. Athena and I were just about to leave for Emperor; you can join us if you want."
Gloria turned to Athena sharply, "you were going to ditch me?" Even though she tried to hide it, Athena could still sense the hurt in her voice and she felt bad.
"I wasn t, I came here to tell you, Sean and TB are there and I don t want to be alone at home. I wanted to leave the invite of joining us open if you want."
"Okay, fine, let s go but we are leaving in my car," she said.
"Come on, Gloria, don t spoil the fun," Leo said.
"It s always fun with you, Leo, tell me, what fun are you hoping to catch tonight?"
"I want to go in with her," he smiled, pointing at Athena with his chin.
Gloria, having spent time with him knew what he want and she rolled her eyes, "you want to see Sean s reaction."
"That s why I love you," he grinned.
"Fine, who s going to drive my car?" She asked.
"Don t worry, Flynn would drive it," he answered and with that settled, they left the place.

Sean sat in his seat and watch everything that was happening around him like he always does, he doesn t know how the party got out but their private room ended up being more crowded than they expected, but as it s a party, there was nothing to be done and just go with the flow, plus, it was more fun when it was full.
He watched the model performing a belly dance at the centre of the room which every other person in the room was drawn to. He checked his wrist watch, wondering when Leo would get there, this is the kind of parties he loves, where he would observe and have his fun. A man stood up and walked to the dancer, he recognized him as Hillary Queen, the best actor award winner. Hillary with his platinum blonde hair and dazzling blue eyes made him exceptional and very good with the ladies, which are most of his millions of fans. He danced with the model who gingerly accepts to rock him. In a party like this where Sean is present as well as other business tycoons, celebrities let themselves loose and act as they want, knowing that no paparazzo would dare to enter there.
Celebrities squealed and cheered them now, their voices louder than the music. Sean sipped his drink and glanced at TB who was busy catching fun and chatting with friends, he is always like that when his boyfriend is around and Sean hardly disturbs him when he is like that. More celebrities stood up and started dancing as well, the ladies were mostly rocking the men and the more ambitious types tried to get closer to the tycoons, dancing close to them or in front of them or on their laps.
While Sean usually goes with the flow before, today, he doesn t feel like it and constantly shook his head at any lady that approached him. He asked himself why he was doing that and there was only one possible answer, he would only agree to be given a lap dance if the lady is a certain brunette with beautiful chocolate eyes. Thinking about her, he wondered how she was faring in the party she went to, he was regretting a little why he agreed Gloria to take her away, if he had known tonight would be like this, he would have invited them to join him instead. Thrice he had picked up his phone to order Smith to go get her but he always stops himself, he is getting too attached to her and he doesn t know if he likes that yet, not when he knows her heart beats for another.
