Chapter 49
Athena woke up to the sound of her phone s ringtone; she stretched on the bed and reached to pick the phone up on the bedside cabinet. She didn t bother to check who was calling and just picked the call and placed the phone on her ear while fighting back a yawn, "hello?"
"Hey girl," TB s voice sounded on the other side, "you did well last night," he laughed, "you and Sean really deserve to be together, you are two devils," he chuckled.
Athena sighed; of course what happened last night would already be in the papers, why not with all the reporters that were there. She smiled faintly and replied, "it was all Sean s idea."
"I know but the way you played along with it made it amazing, you should see how you were sexily calling out bids with only five dollars extra," he laughed, "honestly, I hate not being there to witness it myself but it s okay, I m glad I got to watch it and also read it. Some crazy people have put in Youtube and it s over a million views now," he laughed, "Frank should be so embarrassed of himself. Serves him right though, he would be broke after making that payment, honestly, I can t wait for him to lose the so called status he thought he had gotten, I can t wait for him to start feeding from hand to mouth."
Athena smiled, "you do remember that he is my boyfriend, right TB?"
"You mean ex, dear."
"No, have you forgotten the reason I got to meet you in the first place?"
TB remained silent, after a while, he heaved a deep breath, "you sound like you are already thinking of going back to him."
Athena closed her eyes, "yes, TB. I would be having lunch with him today, I called him last night."
"Oh, does Sean know?"
Athena felt her heart missed a beat at the mention of his name but that also brought annoyance, she was angry, she had stayed up all night wondering what it was with him, why he couldn t just be straight and tell her what he wants and she hates herself for seeing what might not actually be there. What if Sean wasn t attracted to her and she was the one that was wishing it? And then she had remembered what Gloria had said and knew what she really need right was distraction, someone to distract her from Sean and who better to do that than Frank? After all, she would be going back to him soon. So she had picked up her phone and called him early this morning, arranging for them to have lunch. "No, he doesn t," she answered.
"Why? You don t want him to know?"
"Not really, I already told him yesterday that I have decided to call Frank, so it shouldn t be a new thing to him again."
"Okay, let me get this straight, you told him that you have decided to meet with Frank, but did you tell him it was going to be today?" when she didn t answer, TB sighed, "come on, Athena, Sean doesn t deserve this, what s wrong in telling him that you are going to meet Frank today, its not like he is going to stop you, he was the one that agreed to train you so that you would win him back, why do you think he would stop you from doing what you want?"
Athena didn t know what to say, she didn t want to tell him that Sean was the reason she was meeting Frank, that his rejection to her offer pushed her to make the decision and his attitude towards her, giving her false hopes. She didn t want to admit that she was meeting Frank because she wants to stop wishing on Sean to make a move. "I will tell him tonight."
"After you have met Frank?"
"Yes."
TB sighed, "well, do what you want. I will be back today, I will like to talk about this topic while looking at you in the eyes and reading every emotion I see."
Athena chuckled at that, "I have missed you, this big house is not the same without you."
"Aw, don t worry, I will be there soon, got to go now. I have to make sure the models aren t forgetting anything, see you when I m back."
"Sure, bye," she replied and they hung up, she let the phone fall on the bed and closed her eyes, wondering if she was doing the right thing. But Gloria had said that once she leaves the house she would be over the crush, but she still has some weeks before she could leave and she wouldn t want to do anything stupid like throwing herself at him again before then. She heaved a sigh and got up, he should already leave for work, or not, she can t tell. It was Saturday and it wasn t all Saturdays that he goes to work, she just hopes he did today.
She climbed out of the bed and went to the window, she pulled the curtain and searched for his car and when she didn t find it, she felt mixed feeling, happiness and sadness. She closed the curtain and left her room, she needs to find something to eat before her date with Frank, even the thought alone had a bad taste in her mouth and she wondered why.

Athena arrived at the restaurant Frank had called her and said he was waiting in, she let out a deep breath through the mouth before pushing in the glass door and going in. She stood and searched around and then she saw him, he was dressed nicely in a green shirt and white pants, his sandy blonde haired was styled slicked back, a hairstyle she had come to love dearly. She was surprised at her annoyance that he had imitated Sean s hairstyle and had to remind herself that all men were free to have any hair style they want. He smiled and waved at her, his shirt matching his eyes and making him look alluring but unfortunately and surprising to her, she wasn t tripping for his beauty, not anymore.
She approached him and he stood up and pulled out a chair for her like a gentleman, she tried not to roll her eyes and took the seat, she couldn t understand herself, why the hate? She has loved him and knew she would love to marry him to fulfill her mother s wish, so why is she repulsing his closeness and his attempt to please her? She placed her hand bag on the floor beside her seat and reached to tuck a lock of her wavy brown hair behind her ear.
"You look beautiful," Frank complimented. She was dressed in a royal blue turtleneck with a white jacket over it and white pants. She had let her hair down because she felt like it and had applied a simple makeover. TB had been teaching her how to give herself a makeover whenever she wants to go out and it wasn t a problem anymore.
"Thank you," she replied curtly.
Frank smiled, "to be honest, I was surprised when I got your call that you want us to meet, you know, after everything that happened last night," he sighed, "honestly, I didn t expect that you would even want to see me, I thought you hate me."
