Chapter 26

Allison's pov
It was nice to spend the afternoon with Zander even if he was working. He didn't seem annoyed with me at all being there. And I could tell he was jealous of the attention I got from Sam. But it felt good that my mate was jealous over me. My wolf was so happy. I can't lie, it made me happy too. And thinking about earlier when Zander got so mad that Paul was talking to me and how he got so possessive. And thinking about how close he was to me earlier and the kiss. Even now when I think about it, it makes my skin tingle and feel warm all over. Zander took my first kiss and it was amazing the way his lips felt against mine. Ash kept sending me visuals in my mind of Zander. I tried to block those out because they were making me aware of the man next to me. His scent and his smile were all I could focus on. I desperately wanted his touch but I didn't want to make the first move. I don't want to push anything on him. As we were near the house I felt a shift in the air, what was once calm and peace was replaced with tension and anger? I look at Zander and he is clenching his teeth so much it must hurt. He looks visibly upset. Not wanting to make him more upset, I stayed quiet and did not say anything. Zander parked the car and got out, I got out too and I could see Connie waiting at the door. She looked nervous and unsure. As we near the front door I could tell Connie was thinking about what to say.
“Welcome home boss.” She said with a flat tone. It was so unusual since Connie is always happy and chipper. “Boss um you have a guest. I couldn't stop her.”
“Where is she?” Zander bit out interrupting Connie.
“She is in the living room waiting for you.” Connie says. She looks worried and I honestly wonder who this woman is. Is she an ex of Zander's? I follow Zander into the living room and there I see a girl. She is maybe 5’2 and petite. She is very pretty and I feel inferior to her in looks and feel out of place being so tall. She has bottle blonde hair and green eyes. And she is wearing a tight fitting short dress. If she bent down you could see more than you were betting on.
“Hi Zander baby. I missed you.” She says in a surgery voice that makes me gag. She gets up from the chair she was sitting on and satuters over to Zander and puts her hand on his chest and trails it down his chest. I almost growl but I stop myself in time. I can't stand there and watch this woman touch my mate. Before I can say anything Zander grabs her wrist and pushes her away.
“What are you doing here?” Zander says in almost a growl. The sound runs through me and I like the way it sounds coming from his lips.
“Oh what, no kiss for me? I thought you would miss me.” She says in that sweet voice again.
“No, I haven't missed you. We broke up two months ago. So I'll ask you again. What are you doing here?” Zander almost yells.
The woman doesn't bat an eye at being yelled at and she just smiles and turns toward me.
“I wanted to see if the rumors were true. That you got married and I see they were. Your wife isn't much to look at. You must be bored of her already. Why don't you come back to me and we can start anew.” She smiled at me with a sinister smile.
The gull of this woman to say that in front of me. Ash was growling inside and wasn't happy some woman said that to our mate. Mine Ash says in my mind.
“Oh don't take it the wrong way. By the way I'm Tory.”
I don't say anything and to prevent from clawing this girls eyes put I turn around and leave. I hear Zander call out to me but I don't acknowledge him. I walk out the door and head to the park. I need to run and to let Ash out before we do something. I go back to the trees I found before and strip and Ash takes over and soon we are in wolf form. It's dark and cold but we don't notice. Thank goddess there's nobody out this late and we start running.
Zander's pov
Tori was getting on my nerves and then she said those things in front of Allison. I wanted to strangle her because I restrained myself.
“Why would you say that to my wife!” I was angry and I wasn't going to let her get away with saying that.
“Oh please like you would really care. From what I heard it was an arranged marriage and you don't love her.” She says sitting back down.
“Tori, you will never come here again. And you will not insult my wife in front of her again or otherwise. Do I make myself clear?” I wanted to go find Allison and see if she was alright.
“You really want a woman who is fat when you could have me. By The way, does she know about the contracts you give to your girlfriends? Or haven't you told her yet?” She chuckles.
“That is twice you have insulted my wife and I won't stand for it. That is none of your business. Leave and don't come back here again.” I yell again. Thankfully she gets it this time and has a mock frown on her face.
“Fine but when you come to your senses and want a thin pretty girl. Call me.” with that she walks out.
I wanted to knock her teeth out but of course that would be bad. I have never felt this way with anyone, not even Amber. When Tori was saying those things I wanted to punch and I have never hit a woman in my life. To stay calm I sat down. I tried to call Allison but it went right to voice-mail. I'm worried that she is sad or upset. I was about to go look for her when she came back and I could hear her greet Connie. I saw her, she looked like she had been crying and her hair was all messed up.
“Are you ok Allison?” I ask her sincerely.
“Yes I'm fine, it's late and I'm tired I'm going to bed.” And then she walked up the stairs.
I don't believe her for a second that she is fine but I wanted to cool down before I spoke to her.I hope she doesn't believe anything Tory said about her. I also hope she doesn't think that I want to go back to her. I bid goodnight to Connie and went upstairs. I noticed Allison's door was shut so I left her alone and went to my room. I laid in bed thinking about Allison and how I miss having her in my bed next to me. I fall into troubled sleep for the next few hours until I wake up at 2 am. Knowing I wouldn't be back to sleep I got up and went to my office to look through my reports for a few hours. I kept thinking about Allison and our kiss we shared yesterday. That kiss awoke in me a fire for Allison that I can't explain. It makes me want to be near her and hold her. I look at the clock on the wall and it's 7am. I have to go to work soon. I hate the thought of leaving her to go to work but I have lots of meetings today I can't miss.
Unknown pov
So the boss was right, Zander's wife is a werewolf. And here I thought he was joking. I watched as she went behind a tree and out came a huge wolf. Much bigger than a normal one. I watched as she ran away into the brush. I waited for about thirty minutes for her to reappear. I was about to leave when I saw her come back and go behind the tree. A few minutes later she came out and started on her way home. The boss will be happy to know he was right.
