Chapter 18 -She's dead
"How have I disgraced you?"
It was the first time that Simon blame her in this tone. Diana looked at Simon incredulously and could no longer pretend to be considerate and generous, and a bunch of small tempers erupted.
"You don't love me anymore, do you? how can you be like this, you told me you would always guard me and be responsible for me, but now, you are obviously impatient with me......"
He wrinkled his eyebrows. He had the impression that Diana was always unconcerned with the world, gentle and kind and didn't need him to worry about, but now she was like a different person.
Simon finally couldn't stand her, so he grabbed his coat and left the door, walking alone the road until he reached the riverside.
It was late at night and not many people were wandering around like he was. Simon looked at the river that was turning up and retreating, but all that came to his mind was the voice and face of Jennifer.
He even saw river and thought of her.
Simon bought a few beer and, not caring at all about his clothes, sat down directly on the cobblestones by the shore.
After drinking a few bottles of beer, he was already in a teary-eyed state.
The thoughts swept over him like an uncontrollable tide, but he couldn't find an outlet to talk about them, so he had to run desperately and empty himself.
But against his will, he saw those memories again, dwelling in a bubble, passing before him little by little.
When he saw Jennifer Louise, who had been woken up by a teacher that year, with sleepy eyes and a bewildered look on her face, he stood up straight away and said, despite everyone's laughter, "Sir, my daughter-in-law don't have the answer."
The result was, of course, that the old-fashioned professor sent them out for punishment, and he got to see Jennifer's shy face, as he had hoped.
" Do you think we will turn against each other one day?" Jennifer asked on a whim as she leaned against the wall and looked at the sky.
At that time, Simon reached out and pinched the tip of her nose, laughing at her sadness: "When we get married, you'll be guaranteed to cry all day."
But before he could give her a home, he would never see that face again.
Memories consumed much of his energy, and Simon closed his eyes to drift off to sleep, but with a sweep of his eyes he saw a slightly familiar figure in the distance, and with a jolt he sat up and went straight after it, ignoring the fact that his body was soaked in water.
"Jennifer!" Simon couldn't help but shout, the figure in the distance froze for a moment, then walked straight towards the car parked on the side of the road.
Simon continued to chase after her, the woman eventually stopped by the car, turned to look at Simon after opening the door, and gave him a smile.
Only then did Simon see that the woman was not Jennifer Louise, the person in the distance was much more flamboyant and confident enough in her charm that she was just treating herself like a drunken man who was casually seducing her.
As the car drove away, Simon was frustrated, but he didn't want to die. He picked up the phone and called his assistant, asking him to find out who owned the Ferrari in this area and who had passed by here tonight.
With such a difficult job, the assistant was a bit baffled, and when he can recognized his boss' drunkenness, he knew he was thinking about Miss Louise, a dead woman.
With answer, the assistant still couldn't help but remind him, "Boss, take care of yourself, health is more important."
After hanging up the phone, Simon picked up a stone and smashed it into the river. He didn't want to but had to admit that Jennifer was really dead.
As the day was about to dawn, Simon patted the corner of his coat, got up and went to the flower shop that was still open to hold a bouquet of daisies, and walked with his feet following his heart to Jennifer's simple tombstone.
"I've come to keep you company." Simon put the bouquet down and sat down against the tombstone, where he fell into a deep sleep.
......
......
Diana waited for a long time at Simon's home but did not see him return. When she was bored, she put on a makeup and ran to the usual haute couture venue, which she used to come to before she met Simon. In order to catch up with Simon, she hid her nature and pretended to be a famous lady all the time.
Now that Simon was no longer there, Diana breathed a sigh of relief instead. Walking in and smelling the familiar smell of rotten pleasure, she couldn't help but get all excited and couldn't wait to fly off to heaven.
"Diana, why haven't I seen you here for a long time? You've been busy being a star lately." As soon as the manager saw that it was her, she immediately came over and greeted her politely, who didn't know now that she, Diana, had become the Simon's fiancée.
After a few brief pleasantries with old acquaintances, Diana went off on his own, shaking his glass of wine and looking for prey. The high-class venue with all the lights and wine, and those who could enter were not ordinary people, but they all had one thing in common, loneliness.
Diana twisted and turned to the music, she never knew she had a good face, enough to attract those average men, she looked around and soon there were several men around her, coming over to try to get a kiss.
"Step aside, she's got an appointment."
