Chapter Fifty-Three (Sin)

“We need to get back to the castle. I don’t want to leave Hellebore up to her tricks for too long. How fast can you pack?” Sin asked Magma.

He left the room and came back with a backpack. “Packed.” He smiled.

We climbed back into the boat, and Magnus and Sin rowed us across. After getting out, we headed to the nightmares.

“We are short a nightmare.” Sin frowned.

“Magnus can ride with me.” Abigail smiled and winked at him.

Magnus chuckled, “Thank you.”

We mounted and headed back to the castle. Amaya rode beside me while Abagail and Magma trailed slowly behind, lost in conversation.

“Those two seem to have hit it off.” Amaya laughed.

“So, it would seem.” I chuckled.

Amaya was lost in thought and looked puzzled.

“What’s wrong, my little flame?”

Her cheeks turned red as she asked, “Would his hair burn her?”

I laughed, “I honestly have no idea.”

A while later, we reached the village surrounding the castle, people looked at us and whispers and gasps broke out among the people when they spotted Magma.

“I will have to make an announcement when we get back.”

Ignoring the stares, we all headed to the stables, dismounted and headed in, going straight to the throne room.

Hellebore was by the gate in the throne room when we entered. She sees Magma and her face contorted into one of fury.

“He was exiled. Why is that criminal here?” she screeched.

I looked around and smiled, “Thank you for grabbing everyone’s attention. I, King Dezudon Sin hereby revoke Magma’s exile.” I told the gathering crowd.

“You can’t do that; he was found guilty.” Hellbore argued.

“He was falsely charged by you, and everyone knows you can use mind control and that is the only reason he was found guilty.”

She looked like she was about to argue when Merula walked over. “Your King has spoken. Do you dare challenge him?”

She bit her lip and stormed from the room.

A few of the crowd walked over. “Welcome back Magma, you were missed.” Merula smiled, turning to him.

“Merula, find Magma a room, please.” Sin stated.

Merula nodded and turned and headed out of the room.

“Thank you, King Sin.” Magma bowed.

“I am just doing what should’ve been done years ago.”

“Dezudon?” Amaya asked me as she eyed me curiously.

I signed, “It is my first name and I hate it, that is why I go by Sin. I had to use my full name to pardon Magma.”

“I happen to like your name. Both of them.” She smiled.

Two small dragons flew into the room. One landed on Abigail’s shoulder and a black one landed on Amaya’s shoulder.

“Hi Cana.” Amaya smiled at the small dragon.

People in the throne room looked at her in shock as the small dragon watched them from her shoulder.

Akuji looked at Amaya with a sneer she didn’t think I saw before walking over to me.

“How is she controlling the dragon?” She asked

“Do you share your abilities with her?” I asked with a smirk, and she frowned.

“No.”

“Then why should she share her secrets with you?” I retorted. “Are you upset because the dragons didn’t eat her the other day?”

“No… I was just curious.” She said quickly before she left.

She’s no better than Hellebore, I thought to myself.

Looking outside, the sky was darkening, I looked at Amaya, “Shall we?” I asked her, holding out my arm.

She smiled and took it, we were heading from the throne room when Merula returned, “I have set up the room beside Abigail’s for Magma.”

“Thank you Merula.” He nodded and bowed before leaving.

Abigail and Magma followed behind as we headed to our area of the castle. Abigail went to her room and Magnus to his. I followed Amaya as she opened the door and entered her room, Cana nodded at her and flew out the window.

Amaya took her arm from mine and moved across the room. “Are you planning on staying?”

I nodded. “Yes, I want to make sure you are safe. Lazarus told me about Hellebore’s visit.” I informed her, frowning as I took a seat on the couch.

She grabbed a glass of water and sat down beside me.

“Do you think that Satan will get loose?”

“I think that Hellebore is a stubborn woman who will not give up on her ambitions easily. I think that since Lazarus has refused to help her that she is now going to extremes to get the throne. She knows that Lazarus will not be a puppet King and does as she asks. Or at least he will fight her hold on him.” I told her honestly.

“There is a vial of blood she carries around with her, Cana believes it controls someone or something, we should take it in case she is using it to manipulate someone into doing her bidding.”

“I will see what I can do, little flame.”

“Thank you Dezudon.” She giggled.

I frowned, “Please just call me Sin.”

“Okay, I’m sorry. I was just teasing.” She smiled, taking a drink of water. “Want to play a game?”

I frowned, remembering the last time. “No board games are evil. I want to know why they would even create such horrible things.”

“Really?” Amaya laughed. “There are worse things than board games.”

“Like what?” I frowned.

“Weapons for one. They are designed to kill people.”

“But they also protect people.” I pointed out.

“People wouldn’t need protection if there were no weapons to hurt them.”

“What about for food then, humans need meat to survive?”

“Not really. There are vegan options available.”

“I’m never going to win with you, will I?” I laughed as I pulled her to me.

“Nope, never.” She chuckled.

“You look tired. Are you okay?”

Amaya yawned, nodding, “Yeah, just need sleep. I’ll be right back. I am going to shower.” She stood up and grabbed some clothes from her dresser and headed into the bathroom.

I followed and spoke to her from the door. “Mind if I join you?” I smiled as I walked into the bathroom and took off my shirt.
