CHAPTER 13: DINNER DATE
continued:
"It's been about 5 years I guess. It hasn't been easy I will say that."
"So, why are you an assistant? Haven't you wanted to do anything else?"
"Yes, but it's way easier to understand the people you work with if you work closer to them, you know?"
"Yep, totally understand. I studied under my grandfather for a while and didn't really have to do much. I took up accounting and it was smooth sailing from there."
"Sounds like you had quite a nice up-bringing."
"Not really, that's a different conversation."
"Yes ma'am." He said as he threw his hand up. "We are here".
He parked and got out the car and when I went to open my door, he waved a finger and pointed at me saying "Ladies usually let the gentleman do the work. That's how it's supposed to be right?"
We walked in the restaurant hand in hand and he had reserved the most discrete table, I had guessed for converstion wise.
I didn't care, I was starving and ready to pass out if I didn't get any food in my stomach soon.
He pulled out my chair for me to sit down as he took his seat opposite from me across the table.
After about ten minutes of being seated, our waiter came and asked for our drinks, of course which I ordered water for starters. The waiter brought our drinks and some bread while he took our orders for our food.
The lasgna looked really good and so did the sau·téd steak.
After some time, we had conversations about music, paintings, and his car, which I couldn't give up the topic. After we finished eating, he kept looking at me for some reason, and I couldn't figure out what it was.
"You look, absolutely beautiful tonight boss lady." He said smiling, and it took my breath away.
"Well, thank you Fred, you look very handsome yourself tonight.", offering a smile to him in return.
I had to go to the 'Ladies-Room' so I excused myself for a while. I went into one of the stalls, did my business, cleaned up and stared into the mirror for a short minute.
I couldn't stop thinking about Aiden, what we did that night and how much time I had left. I had too much to do and it wasn't going to get done in one month..unfortunately.
As much as I didn't want to admit it, I was going to have to defy him. Hell, it wasn't like he owned me or anything, despite what he thought he believed.
I was looking in the mirror and damn, I looked hot. I went back to our table to see that he was drinking bourbon. Again, I didn't know why? I didn't really look into it, because maybe he just wanted one? Didn't really care either.
As I sat back down, I caught him looking at me again, but this time, there was something in his eyes, something that seemed like lust towards me. I had made up my mind way before this date that we would only be friends. I couldn't lie, I felt something towards Fred, maybe it was just the alcoholic drinks, or maybe I wanted him as a substitute for Aiden.
"Hmm, do you figure boss lady? The way you look at me.... you have a thing for me?"
"Huh? What did you say?" I asked him while clearing my throat.
He leaned closer as to speak his words to me clearly.
"You.have.a.thing.for.me. don't you?"
He stared at me looking me up and down through lust-filled eyes.
"I..I don't Fred. Why is that even a question at the moment?" I asked him as he looked at me, swirling his alcohol around in his glass.
"It was only a question. I think you're lying though, don't know why, don't really care", he said as he looked off at something in the distance.
"Anyways, are you ready to go my lady?" as he said calling over the waiter for the check, as he placed his card into the book and waited for his return.
"Yes, Fred, I am. Thank you so much for the dinner! It was great and very tasty!"
"You are very welcome Ma'am. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to do it again sometime?"
The waiter came back with his card and then bowed to him saying, "Sir, we appreciate everything you do for us here. Every time you stop by we always have a great night thanks to your very generous tipping! Thank you sir!", and walked away.
"So they know you here? Do you come here often?"
"Not very often, but the waiters are very good workers here. I tip where deserved." He said as we walked out together and led me back to the car.
"Great. That's very nice of you." I said while standing up on my tippy-toes to give him a peck on the cheek. "I had an awesome night, Fred. Thank you again. And yes, I would love to have dinner again sometimes."
He smiled his God-like smile and I almost melted on the inside. He drove me back to my home and led me to my door. I thought he was going to ask to come inside, but when he leaned down and gave me a peck on my cheek, I think something melted a little more inside of me than just my skin. He gave me a "See you later and have a goodnight" smile.
When I walked into my living room, I was a little tipsy, but I knew I wanted to go and fall out in my bed, but not before I took a very hot and relaxing bath.
