CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Adonia walked into the press conference with her head up high on her shoulders, she was feeling on top of the world, no feeling could beat that. Knowing she was out of a toxic environment was one thing and knowing she had one of the best management now was another thing. She wanted to sue Quincy for libel and defamation so they agreed under the roof that he pays her a sum of thirty million dollars for damages and they have a red table discussion that would be made public. That way, Adonia's side of the story would be clear and nobody would be able to talk her down anymore. Her mom is no longer her manager, instead, she is being managed by the great Bella Diez, a ruthless manager.
She wondered how long her dad had been planning to switch management for him to get her a new management by Bella Diez and when she met the woman, she was at peace because she looked strict and was very nice. She was here for the red table event with Quincy and it was a live event so no one edits out a part for malicious intent. After the news of her changing management and suing Quincy, the troll ‘to all the cheating bitches' hasn't made any post in a while out of fear of being fished out and sued.
'Adonia, are you getting back with Quincy White?"
'Did Quincy cheat on you with Rose Meurs?"
'Did you file a billion dollar lawsuit against Quincy White?"
'Did Quincy lose his spot as the main lead because your dad is one of the major sponsors of the show?"
'Are you seeing anyone new?"
'Do you think there's a chance for you and Quincy to settle?"
Reporters were hounding her at the entrance of the hall, calling her name in different directions but she refused to deter, she was a new person now and heck, this new person felt a whole lot different from the old her. She left all of their questions unanswered and she made her way into the hall with Maxine and Bella. Maybe the new management brought her good luck and she was glad that it was happening to her.
She got to the makeup room and the makeup artist applied some talc on her face and she waited for the show to start in full force. Quincy was here already and surprisingly she wasn't expecting him to come to the venue this early considering he was the one who enjoyed coming late to shows and even interviews. She had a list of twenty questions she would ask him at the red table and the whole management worked hard to make sure it won't be something that would make her look malicious. This new personality of hers was one they wanted to work hard to keep and not let anyone walk over anymore. Maxine squeezed her hands in reassurance and Adonia flashed her a smile. She needed that reassurance so bad and she was glad that she was getting it.
She was handed the customized red table cards containing the list of questions her management had put up for her, Quincy flashed her a smile when she walked into the red room and she returned it back for the sake of the cameras. This would be the last time she would do anything for the cameras by the way. She sat on one end of the table and Quincy sat on the other end of the table. They both waited for the crew to start filming and Maxine gave her a thumbs up from backstage before muttering to her that she could do it. The directors already agreed that Quincy would start first, even though Adonia would have loved to start first, she still let Quincy go first.
'Adonia, do you hate me?" Quincy asked before they made eye contact and Adonia laughed. Did she hate Quincy? definitely. She wasn't going to answer outrightly like that though.
'Hate is such a strong word but it doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of you and I don't enjoy your company. If you were on fire and I had water, I would rather wash my feet with it." She replied with a smug smile. She loved her answer because it indicated her strong dislike for him but yet it doesn't answer the question of maybe she hates him or not. Quincy cleared his throat before nodding in acknowledgment.
'What made you get into a relationship with me?" She asked before she leaned back in her chair so she would be able to hear him properly. She had always been meaning to ask him the question and she couldn't wait for him to acknowledge her and, maybe give her the perfect response she has been waiting for. She really hoped this question didn't break her or do something worse for her. He cleared his throat before speaking and Adonia braced herself for what was to come.
'Since the red table is for us to be honest with each other, Meeting you I didn't want a relationship with you. Heck, I even found you boring at some point because I din't like a woman with no social media presence. I enjoy the thrills of the power of social media and you didn't have that. When I found out your parents status, I knew I wanted your connection. Being the boyfriend of the daughter of the greek tycoon, Adonis Konstantinos did get me a whole lot of gig and the media was wowed by our relationship. I'm sorry but that's the main reason I got into a relationship with you. To boost my online presence and get more bags." He ended his shirt speech and Adonia elt like removing her shoes and hitting his head with it till he had no life left in him. She wanted to scratch his face till he had nothing but bones and messy flesh. She had over a thousand and one ideas on how to kill him but instead she smiled. Like she ad taught herself these past few days. Smile till they look foolish like whatever lives in their head.
'Did you stalk me after our split?" He asked and Adonia smiled, he certainly knew the answer to that question but he chose to ask again. He wanted to be sure that she was stalking him and show some kind of leverage over her. Good thing that she didn't care at all and she would only say the truth here, nothing but the truth. She doesn't care if he holds it over her or his friends/trolls create a thousand and one headlines from her own side of the story.
'I just got dumped over a social media post, I caught you in bed with another woman. Instead of maybe a half ass apology, all i get is a social media post declaring you and I have parted ways. Oh yes, I did stalk you. Many times, I wanted to find out what went wrong and what made you treat me like that. Thankfully that stupid phase ended quite a while ago and yes, I did stalk you." Adonia replied and he had this smug look on his face. She hated how he was looking smug, he probably thinks she wasn't over him yet or if they still had a chance together. It would be over her dead body before she let Quincy trample on her anymore. She picked the next question card from her pile before smiling. This would definitely cause a sensation and she was here for it.
'How many times was I cheated on?" She asked before leaning back into the chair to get a proper view of his face. She was very sure he would go on and on and he would probably lose count. He appeared to be deep in thought before he finally looked at her, she wanted to burst out laughing at the expression on his face.
'Can I pass this question?" He asked softly and Adonia shook her head, it was in the damn contract before she agreed to the red table thing. He was supposed to answer every damn question asked without skipping any that made him uncomfortable. He had been getting away with a lot of things and it was high time that madness stopped in the industry. S he had no idea why he irritated her more than ever, maybe ever since he pulled that stupid drunk shut on her. All she wanted was a life free of Quincy.
'Okay then, I did cheat on you multiple times. At a point, it was frequent and most people knew except you. At that point, you were always on one set or the other. Either to shoot movies or to model for products. You did get a lot of gigs during our relationship so I felt like it was a two way thing. We were both benefiting from each other and there's nothing wrong with that. I know you said you don't want me to apologize for anything, but I'm sorry about the whole thing. I don't regret anything though. Life happened" He replied and again, Adonia felt like stabbing him to death. How could he sit down there and spew trash from his mouth to her? He was crazy, no doubt about that but she would not roll in the mud with him. Hence why she was maintaining this calm front and he would probably think that his words had zero effects on her. She had never seen anyone be so nonchalant about cheating on your supposed partner, well Quincy must be a mad man or else.
' Do you still think ‘WE' still have a chance?" He asked and Adonia burst into laughter the moment the words left his mouth. Quincy would always be someone she never understood because never in her life had she heard where someone admit openly to cheating multiple times and the next moment he was asking if they had a chance at another relationship. This was wild and the fact that he really made a straight face saying in it made Adonia double over in laughter. Maybe he needed help and he was not just sick, he was running crazy too. She was sure even the production crew would be surprised at his audacity. Quincy seems to unlock new stages of stupidity every day.
'I would probably be six feet in the ground before you would ever cross a chance to be in my list of the men I would ever go out with. We don't have a chance anymore, when we did have a chance, I was naive and stupid. Now, I am grown and I don't want to be in the same environment as you. I don't like toxic things and I do enjoy my space. Please stay the fuck out of my business and get the idea of us out of your stupid head." Adonia added the last part through gritted teeth and the filming crew announced a break. Thank god for them if not, she would have left all of her restraints and gone over that table for Quincy before ripping his head off his shoulder.

When the ex-lover announced the red table discussion, we all knew it was due. Not with the way we only had Quincy's story out here and not even one person remembered Adonia Konstantinos. Maybe she is doing this to top the trends table again or not but one can not really tell with the way she is so calm and dangerous. Everyone has a memo to steer clear of the new Adonia and we hope she will be around for a long time. Rumor has it that her father changed her management due to bullying and not letting her express herself well enough. Maybe that is about to come to an end.
Quincy cheated on Adonia while she did the jobs she got under Quincy's influence. That sounds like a balanced equation to me but the Greek billionaire heiress doesn't seem to be taking that well enough. It is now a battle of the billionaires and I know he might be small compared to the richest Greek tycoon, Adonis Konstantinos, Adonia's father. This is the drama we signed up for her, stay tuned.
