CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

She quickly flashed a smile back at him and thanked everybody on set as some left since they were done for the day while some moved to the next location for the next scene. She was happy and felt contented with herself, she did that perfectly and smoothly without the knowledge that Jordan was even there watching. She had always told herself that she was doing well with every other scene she had acted because she was afraid that if she didn't give off the result that he wanted from each scene, he was probably going to throw her out of his studio just as he did to Quincy and she most definitely didn't want that. Adonia knew that she was really meant for this role given to her too, she didn't want to feel obnoxious but she knew she was good at what she did, even without anyone's complements. She thought sone of the set members and actors were going to shoot another scene but Jordan cancelled it telling them that he wanted them to rest for the day because since he was back to work, they going to shooting and filming a lot of scenes from the next day onward.
Adonia was leaving for her changing room after fist bumping and hugging some actors left behind and we're cheering her for a scene well done when a fellow actress told her Jordan was asking if he could see her, she became weary, was he going to yell at her again or talk about her performance? She knew that she nailed the scene but she didn't know if she nailed it to the extent that he wasn't going to complain about it. Was it her past performance that he wanted to talk about? She wondered a million possibilities as she walked over to where he waited for her. She tried hard to keep her breathing steady and keep herself calm because of her racing heart because she couldn't see him with all these thoughts going through her mind before she mistakenly blurted out the wrong word from being nervous. She knew she needed to meet him with a clear mind.
She got to where he was stood waiting for her and he used his forefinger, motioning for her to come closer, she noticed that the studio was empty except for the two of them and she began to wonder why he would wait for everyone to leave before requesting for her presence, maybe he wanted to apologize for yelling at her in the past after seeing her act today, she assumed and just sighed before walking towards him. She got to where he was standing but instead of hearing the apology she was expecting, she got another surprise after suddenly seeing him on set as he hugged her this time and she knew in her mind that she had been right about him being her mystery man because she knew that if he wasn't the one, he wasn't going to understand the whole letter she sent to him
"I couldn't believe that maybe I've met this unknown woman that had cauzght my attention when I saw that letter, I had to search for you and here you are. Like a miracle" he said and hugged her tighter, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair and kissing her on her temple. She smiled and hugged him back as they silently understood each other and enjoyed the moment in each other's arms. She didn't want to leave his arms, not yet but she had to talk to him, she couldn't help but wonder how he knew she was the one that sent the letter. She also knew he was still sad and she wanted to talk to him so she can find out how he was doing and how he was coping with his daughter's death. He didn't look as though he wanted her to let go, maybe he needed her warmth as she did his too.
They later separated from each other's grasp and decided to talk, he asked her to sit down and he told her he read her letter and understood immediately. The fact that the anonymous woman he always spoke and had grown an interest in was in his house was really crazy. It was also a relief to him because he was tired of being just a mysterious man that she didn't know his identity to her, he told her he was ready and had decided to show his face to her before June's death happened to him, he said her that her note was like his silver lining that helped loosen some of the weight in his chest once he read it and he was happy she wrote to him especially when he needed something like that. Adonia still had a question lodged in her heart that she really wanted to ask "I don't understand though, I didn't let anyone see me when I dropped the letter" she said wondering how he knew she was the unknown woman that dropped the letter for him "I have cameras everywhere in my home, I couldn't sleep knowing I was that close to this woman I didn't know. I had to find out so I watched the whole footage from yesterday, it was really hard to catch when you dropped the letter but I pay attention to the little details too so I saw you and I couldn't believe it" he explained to her and she finally understood how he found out.
Jordan couldn't believe his luck when the letter was given to him, he knew that she was the one that wrote it immediately he read it, this unknown woman that had surprisingly captured his heart. He wanted to speak to her but he couldn't because he didn't even know who she was yet and he didn't want to make assumptions about who it could be amongst all the crew members that were currently in his house, so he decided to take the hard way of finding out who it was by watching the whole camera footage of everyone that came over and everything that happened that evening. Then he saw her, Adonia. He saw when she entered his library, took a pen and paper and began writing. It looked suspicious but he couldn't jump into conclusions about her being the one so he kept on watching the whole footage and observed everyone but paid more attention to Adonia till he saw her drop the paper on the tray of the help that gave it to him as it was instructed in bold letters on the paper.
He couldn't believe it, the woman he had been talking to almost every day was Adonia! And she had been around him all this time, right there so close to him but yet so far since they kept their identties anonymous. He laughed because he couldn't help but find it funny, the fact that his unknown woman that had his heart taken was Adonia. He quickly went out to search for her but he was told she had left and he sulked for the rest of the evening because he really wanted to see her and hold her while told he that he read her letter and couldn't explain the joy he felt when he saw those words that lightened up his mood a bit, making his world that seemed so gloomy have a little ray of light.
He knew only her would awaken the old him and help in getting over June's death.
Most of the crew members were not ready to leave for their houses because they thought he wasn't supposed to be alone, he appreciated it but he wasn't comfortable with people crowding his personal space for that long but he didn't want to look or sound rude. Though he would appreciate it if they just left him to himself for a while to just grieve on his own and get himself back together even though it was probably going to take a toll on him. He later asked them to leave when it got really late though, some offered to stay behind and give him a shoulder to lean on but he kindly declined and ordered his driver to take some of them to their homes... It was obvious his kind gesture made them happy and they already forgot he asked them to leave in the first place.
So he decided to show up at work the next day with the lie of working to keep himself and mind busy of course, but his only intention was to see Adonia. He came because he wanted to see her and tell her that he saw her letter and how happy it made him to finally know that he figured out who she was. He wanted to tell her that he read it that day she dropped the letter on and on and how he couldn't stop smiling, the note was well written with hidden messages, so he wanted to confirm her thoughts that he was the mystery man she thought he was, he always had the intention of letting her know who he really was and revealing himself to her one day but he didn't have the right time to do that because he had been shuffling directing and taking care of his daughter, he had not gotten time to really talk to her.
Sitting right here in front of her felt more like a dream but that hug made it obvious that it wasn't, this was reality and they were finally meeting each other their identities now revealed. In a way he was happy she was the one, she was sweet, beautiful and good at whatever she put her efforts Into, he always loved to see a hardworking woman.
"Do you have somewhere you have to be" Jordan asked Adonia after he lhad explained how he found out she was the one that sent the letter, he saw how she kept on avoiding his gaze and couldn't keep eye contact for long but he let it go, people normally feel nervous when they meet for the first time. This wasn't their first meeting though, but they were different people to each other now, they were more special to themselves. She looked so tense when she was coming towards him, like she was trying to figure out why he called for her since she didn't know what he was going to tell her.
He knew he needed to apologize about how he spoke to her on the first day of the shoot, he had not gotten around to doing that and he needed to do that because she was not going to warm up to him if he didn't do that and he was willing to ckar his mistakes.
"I know I didn't get to apologize about yelling at you on your first day shooting and I am really sorry about that, I wanted perfection so bad so I lost it, I am sorry I pushed and yelled at you" Jordan told her and he noticed she relaxed, he took her hand and she looked at him. He knew that she was still thinking of him as her director but he just wanted to be Jordan to her, a man that has feelings for her, someone she could freely open up to and joke around with, he didn't want her to redraw herself.
"So what do you want to do? Mr Mystery Man" Adonia teased with a smile as she couldn't help but stare lovingly at the man she couldn't stop thinking about. Jordan held her hands tighter and nudged her forward towards him then he gave her a kiss on her forehead and Adonia loved it. l
Then he whispered in her ear that it was a surprise and gave her another kiss on her cheek before pulling back from her and they were back to their normal sitting positions "I would need to change though" Adonia said and walked her back to her dressing room. It took him thirty minutes to wait and soon she was out, looking simple but elegant. He had always loved the beach so his plan was to take her there and they would both have fun together.
He wanted her to be happy and he believed that his happiness was also partially tied to hers, he was in his thoughts when she came out, he couldn't help but admire her beauty as he drove away from the studio. He knew he didn't really come here to watch them shoot the movie, he only came here to see her.
"You didn't tell me if I did well today" Adonia told him because she was still feeling weird in a way being inside the car with her director who is also her Mystery Man.
"I really don't want to talk about work today, i just want to have fun with you and make you happy but honestly you surprised me with your acting today, I'm really glad I came to the studio today to get this master piece from you" Jordan said with happiness written all over his face, she really surprised him with her acting today, whatever she thought of when she was acting she really needed to keep thinking about it because her acting was top notch today, he looked at her slightly and he could see that she was blushing, she couldn't help herself, she wanted him to commend her acting skills for today and he did that not because he wanted to make her happy but because she really gave him what he wanted, she was tapping into her potentials and he was happy he was there to see it and he was here to experience it. If she wanted, he was going to start rehearsals with her, so she could excel properly in any role she decided to take moving forward in her career as an actress.
They finally got to the destination he had in mind, it was one of his favorite spots where he loved to spend time, he didn't come here with any other person except June because he didn't want people in his space, he wanted Adonia in his space because she didn't look as though she wanted something from him, he came prepared but he needed to get her swimming wears so he led her to the shop and asked her to get any of the swimming wears of her choice so she could be comfortable when they were at the beach. She did and thanked him after he paid then they left the shop and he went straight to the hotel and lodged a room because he didn't have any plans to go back home today, he wanted to spend enough time with her and get to really know her. He was tired of being in his feelings alone, he needed to let go of things and bare his heart to Adonia before it ate him up.
He could see how happy she was when she dragged him to the beach, she wanted to have fun with him as much as he wanted it too and he was ready to give her that too, he was ready to make sure he had the best time of his life today, they had fun for a pretty long time. They played at the beach side and tried out dishes together from different restaurants. He noticed she was getting tired, her eyes were looking droopy so they went back to the hotel to get some rest. When they got back to the room, she had a quick shower and changed into something comfortable since she was staying Indoor. The whole walk and fun at the beach really took a toll on them so they were too tired that they fell on the bed and they fell asleep mmediately their heads hit the pillows.
