CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
Adonia felt sad for him and wondered how he would survive with the fact that his lovely daughter was gone forever because time never healed loses... it only helped people get used to the absence of the person and move on with life. If this room was scattered, it didn't necessarily mean he was living a scattered or disorganized life. She quickly searched for a sheet of paper and took a pen from his table. She cleaned a space on the table and sat down, resdg to pen down her thoughts for Jordan or perhaps, her mystery man. She was going to slip in a coded message that only her mystery man was going to understand, she was also going to write the letter in the form of a condolence message too so Jordan wouldn't suspect anything if he wasn't her mystery man. She was going to write in a way that seemed pure and innocent with clean intentions but it would have a double meaning that only her mystery man would be able to decipher from the words and the name she would sign at the end.
She knew that the stares from her set members would bore holes into her back when she wants to give the letter to Jordan but she knew she wouldn't mind, she had never really cared or thought about what people think about her or if it even really mattered when she was determined and was on a mission, A risky mission at that, it was best she stayed in the library where it was quiet and peaceful to write what she wanted to write so she would not get distracted. She didn't think there was really anything happening out there because she lost sight of Jordan been anywhere around, this might just be another coincidence but if he was really her Mystery Man, she knew that he didn't really like people being in his space all the time as he had told her... Especially if they were many people so she guessed he took the chance he got to escape from the crowd.
Adonia sat down and took a deep breath to fuel the short lived courage she had in her and decided that this was the moment, this was her only chance at taking the huge step to know who Jordan really was, she didn't know what to write because she had never done this before, she had never felt the need to write an emotional letter to someone, this was her first and she was having a hard time. Her mind was literally blank, she was having a huge block and no words were coming forth to be written down. She decided she was just going to tell him how she felt sorry for what happened to him, she was also going to put in messages that only if he was her mystery man would he understand what she meant. She was going to play safe, that was the plan. What she was also going to do was keep it short, there was no point beating around the bush "just keep it short and simple Adonia" she muttered under her breath and began to write.
"Hey Jordan" She started with the intention of making the letter soun friendly. He was her boss but right now, she was more like a friend trying to ease the pain of a coworker "I am really sorry about your loss and I can't tell you I know how you feel because not everyone feels the same way about situations or losses. I kknow you said you needed to take time off to get yourself together and I completely understand that now. Your absence had really made my days feel more lonely and I missed our conversations, but now I understand your reason for sending that message to me. Forgive me, I am so sorry I didn't push to ask you what was wrong or your reason for that message, I just thought and assumed you were blowing me off. Take your time to get back yourself back together, hopefully you'll ease your mind of the pain, I hope you realise that I understand and I am going to be here waiting for you whenever you need me and when you are ready to to come back" she quickly finished writing the whole letter and signed at the bottom with a name of hers that only her mystery man would recognize, her initials.
Adonia didn't know if this was okay, she wasn't the type that wrote long letters to convey a message but she knew that if he was really her Mystery Man he was going to understand everything she had written there. If he wasn't though, he was still going to understand because it would just seem like a letter to show that she was also sending her condolences.
She had intentions of giving Jordan the letter herself at first, but doing that was only going to sell her identity and there was no point in her disgracing herself because there was a possibility he would ask her what was the meaning of what she wrote and he was capable of questioning her in front of everyone at work. She wouldn't be able to take it, she knew she was not that strong to withstand it; the shame or the possibility of a rumour spreading that she was trying to hit on the director, she knew that kind of rumour was eventually going to grow and spread from nowhere and it could cause a dent in her career, it could affect her from getting future jobs to act so it will be in her interest if she didn't deliver it herself.
She folded the paper neatly, got herself together after giving herself a short pep talk that she could do it and left the library, heading back to where everyone gathered. She bade everyone goodnight after making up an excuse of feeling tired already and needing her rest then made sure no one was watching her or looking in her direction before she discreetly dropped the letter on one of the helps empty tray when she wasn't looking and excused herself because she wanted to go home, she knew the help would deliver the letter because she wrote boldy on the paper, "this is to be given to Jordan".
She was not going to wait and see what was going to happen because she knew she was going to possibly loose her mind while waiting for the letter to get to Jordan. She was going to go home and keep looking at her phone till she got a message from her mystery man which could be Jordan because if it was really him he was going to send her a text or do something to make her know that she was right. She didn't get any message though and she was glad with herself that she didn't write her name on the letter because she didn't know how she was going to act whenever she found herself around him or even in set when shooting while knowing that she wrote that kind of letter to him, she knew that everyone around knew about his bad temper and how he lost it whenever someone pissed him off or things didn't go his way. She kept on thanking her stars that she didn't write her name or deliver the message herself because he was definitely going to unleash the anger on her whenever he got back to work.
Adonia knew that her day was going to be Jam packed with a lot of work and schedules and she was ready to work herself to the core so she could distract herself from the disappointment dwelling in her heart over assuming that Jordan was her mystery man. She had already finished thinking about the fact that Jordan might be her mystery man and had already convinced herself that she wasn't the only one that loved art and paintings. Maybe he just loved paintings too and she wasn't the only one that like that kind of painting, she knew that sort of coincidence rarely occurred but maybe Jordan was just Jordan that also loved paintings and hung then in his house and he was not her mystery man. She decided it was better for her to let these thoughts that kept weighing her down go than to keep thinking about it. She knew she needed to be focused while shooting the scenes for today because she didn't want the director yelling at her anymore. After her first experience with him, she had decided that she was going to try her best and put in more effort to make sure that her role was perfectly portrayed and without flaws.
Adonia really hated when people keep yelling or screaming at her over mistakes so she always tried to put in her best and be top notch, she knew that they were going to shoot a very important scene that would play a vital role in the movie today and she didn't want any distraction, whatever it may be. She decided within her; whoever her mystery man could be, he was going to come back to her when he was done with whatever made him demand for sometime away from her. That was if she has not decided to move on from him by that time, Adonia knew she needed to be in the right frame of mind for work. So she shook off all thoughts of Jordan, her mystery man and any other distracting thought in her head while getting ready for the shoot.
They were shooting the scene of Tyler going to war and she as Claudia in the movie was fighting with him about it. She was really Enjoying the direction and storyline of the script while she read it and she was a bit confident she would do her best this time. Athena had once asked her how far the shooting was going for her and if she enjoyed it and that was the same thing she told her best friend too, she loved it and she was finding it really easy getting into her Character and she was loving her character more and more because in a way, she felt like she had a part of her character in her, like she could relate to the life of her character a little.
The director, Jordan was not on set today because he was still mourning, so it was his assistant that was in charge of everything that took place on the set today. It still felt and looked as though it was the director that was talking to her whenever she made a mistake, so it was obvious that his assistant was learning fast from him and was becoming great at what he did, just like Jordan. She smiled as she remembered Jordan and how he was always in complete control on set. She couldn't believe she was sort of missing his presence on set. She quickly ignored all thoughts or reminders of him that were likely going to awake her assumptions of him being her mystery man. The assistant was a doing a great job and had been keeping them on their heels by making them work harder and better so they didn't even feel that Jordan was absent.
"I am not comfortable with what you are saying to me" Adonia playing Claudia told Tyson after he told her about his intentions of joining the army to fight in the war, the script read that he was going to Inform her of his plans of joining the army and she would act like she didn't like the idea of him leaving her especially since he told when it was close to his departure "You didn't even tell me you were signing up for the army" Adonai said with pain laced in her voice. Her expression was perfect, her demeanor and voice was also perfect and Adonia became more of her character than she was acting to be like her character, it was easy for her to do though because she was imagining the conversation she would have had with Quincy after what he did to her, it was easy for her to bring out the pain in her voice because she was already in her feelings and completely forgot she was on camera until when she heard people clapping and applauding her.
Then she knew she had nailed this scene and couldn't help but feel the joy and butterflies that swarm in her belly as she smiled widely. She couldn't help or control the shock that came over her afterwards when she sighted a face she was least expecting to see today, especially after shooting a scene that perfect. It meant he was there while she was acting because he was smiling widely at her too, his face and eyes filled with pride for her. She couldn't believe it was actually Jordan she was seeing over there standing and smiling at her, she remembered the letter she wrote and sent anonymously and she began to feel uneasy. What if he ended up seeing through her and figured she was the one that sent it or he already knew she was the one that sent it from the get go? But then he wouldn't be smiling at her like that, he was supposed to be mad at her. She had no idea that he was going to be coming back this soon on set but then maybe the loneliness at home was too much to bear so he wanted to get out of the pain and keep himself busy by coming back to work, she wasn't going to blame him, she couldn't even because there was nothing he was going to do that was going to bring his Daughter back so it was best he came back to work where he was going to try and be happy by surrounding himself with people that cared and continued with what he loved doing, being a director and he was good at it.
