Chapter 10: Be safe Irene

Diana sat on her bed and place her palm on her head. Out of all people, she was expecting her mother to stand by her and believe her but she chose to believe what people says about her. She never believe her mother will raise her hand on her without hearing her out. A drop of burning hot tears drop from her eyes as her heart squeeze together in pain and anguish.
She has always been a good girl and deserve a little trust from her mother. Her father seems rather understandable but her mother is bent on her reputation. She really don't know what she did to Sarah that made her accuse her falsely. She didn't know why Sarah will go that far and blackmail her.
" I just hope this ends very soon" Diana mumble and walk towards her window. The life of a princess is really not easy. Sometimes she regrets being a princess as the responsibilities that comes with it are too much for her to carry. Having a reputation to protect and always living to the expectation of the people. She look outside and count the stars in the sky one by one and say some silent prayers.
Throughout that night she couldn't sleep as the thought of how to get herself out of the mess Sarah puts her clouded her mind.
Very early the next day, Elena came with the other maids to help her with her morning rituals.
They knock on the door gently before coming in.
Diana is still curled under her royal blankets sleeping peacefully. It's obvious she slept late last night as she is deep asleep like a baby.
The ray of the sun shine brightly on her face immediately Alice walk towards the window and lift the curtains.
Elena walk to her bedside gently and place her hand on her chest to calm herself down. This is the first time she is going to wake the princess from her sleep and she is really nervous. Irene is the only one who attends to the princess personally and so she's the only one who wakes her without getting quarries.
Elena don't know where to start from as she start by ringing the alarm by the princess bedside.
" Wake up your majesty, it's morning already" Elena said tapping Diana shoulder gently with a hush but cracking voice.
" I want to sleep a little more" Diana mumble and continue sleeping.
" Alice prepare her bath. I will wake her up" Elena tells Alice and Alice nod her head before walking into the bathroom to prepare Diana's bath.
" Wake up princess" Elena tap Diana shoulder again and ring the alarm.
Diana closed her eyes tightly and drew the blanket over her head. She beg the sleep not to go as she felt the sleep drifting away from her eyes slowly.
" Please don't go" She pleaded softly and shut her eyes tight clutching her fingers on the blanket.
" I'm here princess. I'm not going anywhere" Elena reply thinking Diana was talking to her. Unknown to her, Diana was pleading with the sleep not to drift away.
She just wants to sleep and forget her problems.
Elena rings the alarm again and this time around the sleep finally drift away and Diana snaps her heavy eyes open.
She threw the blanket off from her body and sat on the bed with her messy hair falling over her face.
" Why are you so mannerless Elena? Must you chase the sleep away with your awful voice and Godanm alarm?" Diana ask Elena furiously and Elena bow her head with her hands clamp together. She knew she will surely receive a statement like this from the princess.
She didn't know she had an awful voice not until the princess said that.
" I'm sorry your majesty" Elena bow her head and apologise while Diana rolls her eyes and scoffs.
" After waking me up from my peaceful sleep" Diana scoff and Elena somehow understand the princess is frustrated by mere looking at her haggard messy hair and swollen eyelids. She knew the princess is going through a hard time right now.
Diana push her messy hair backward and ran her emerald eyes across the room searching for one particular person.
" Where is Irene?" She ask no one in particular as the other three maids bow their heads.
" I said where is Irene?" Diana ask again raising her voice so loud and they all flinch back. Her cold aura engulf the room as her emerald eyes became dark.
" I'm sorry your majesty, we still haven't seen her since yesterday" Elena reply with shaking voice as she tried not to stutter.
Many of the maids didn't sleep last including Elena and Alice. They thought they were going to see Irene yesterday but there was no new from her. No one seems to know where she is except the king and the queen. They were so worried that something bad might happen to her that they couldn't sleep last night. They keep praying and hoping if she would show up but she didn't.
Some of the palace maids said she is in a dungeon along with the princess two personal royal soldiers. Dante and Dimitri but no one actually know if it's true.
" You mean non of you have laid your eyes on her?" Diana ask again to be sure of what she heard as she try to hold the emotions in her down.
No one really knows how much she loves Irene. She is like a second mother, an elder sister and a friend to her. She is more than just a mate to her and only the god knows what she will do if anything happens to her.
A lot of thoughts ran through her mind, the possibility of her safety and she wonder if Irene have eaten at all. She think about what her father could do to her and tears force their ways out of her eyes. The tears glitter in her eyes.
" Be safe for me wherever you are Irene" Diana mumble and wipe the tears forcing their way out of her eyes away with her thumb.
" Prepare my bath. I need to speak with my father" she said more like an order with a voice filled with authority and the maids dispatch themselves and lead her to the bathroom.
