Chapter 18

Mike looked away and did not say anything to Kent because he knew that there is no way that something like that will ever happen between Hailey and Boris. At least not until the misunderstanding between the both of them is cleared up.



Sydney was the only person who wasn't bothered at all because things were going according to her plan.



"I think that you are worrying too much Kent. Even if you don't trust Boris, you should trust your daughter" Sydney said.



Sydney knew her daughter quite well and she knew that she will never act so brazenly in her parents house. But she was really hoping that something will happen between them. She hoped that they will admit the feelings they have for each other. Even an idoit can see that the both of them are in love.



Kent thought about it and decided that it was true. His daughter will never do that. But he was still worried anyway.



"but what exactly could be going on? I think that I should go check up on them" Kent asked. Even though he knew that his daughter won't act so brazenly, he was still worried about her.



Kent tried to get up but Sydney signalled him with her eyes to sit back down. As someone who has always listened to his wife, Kent sat back down.



"I sent Hailey there on purpose. Aren't the both of you always talking about how the both of them should talk about the misunderstandings that they have between them and then clear it up? That is exactly what I'm trying to do right now. The both of them should clear up thier misunderstandings. Look, they have not come down for so long. It means that they are having a good long talk with each other right? I'm sure that the both of them won't be at each other's throat when they come down" Sydney said. She immediately explained to the both of them about her plans. Sydney thought that she already had a master plan all thought about. She was sure that once those two people are willing to open up to each other, thier relationship will be better.



Kent completely agreed with Sydney's words but Mike didn't say the same. However, he didn't say it out because he didn't want to put the middle aged couple in a bad mood.



Just then , thier door bell rang. The three of them looked towards the door at once.



"Who could it be at this time?" Kent asked. Be really didn't know who'd come visit them at this time.



Sydney shrugged and the bell rang again, more urgently this time. Kent got up to open the door.



Kent was shocked when he saw a smiling Eva standing outside his house.



her parents were just here in the afternoon and she is here again. Kent knew what his brother's family was like ahs he could tell that they are planning something.



Plus, Eva has never had a good reputation in Sunset town. They were many bad rumours about her.



"Good evening Uncle Kent! Aunt Sydney and Hailey are inside right? Hailey is Finally back and I'm here to see her. The both of us used to be so close then before she left for university. We weren't able to see each other or keep in touch after that. Now that she's back, I have a lot of things that I want to tell her and I know that she has a lot of things that she wants to chat to me about!!." Eva said cheerfully. She knew that she had to be thick skinned if she wants to get her cousin to help her.

Kent frowned when he saw how enthusiastic Eva was. He didn't want his daughter to be friends with someone like Eva even though she is his niece.



They were many rumours about Eva. She hung out with suspicious looking men and she had big ambitions end though she didn't want to work.



But since she's already here, Kent could not ask Eva to leave.



"Your aunt and cousin are inside. Come in Eva" Kent said. Although he didn't like her, he could not ask her to leave.



Eva was happy when she was allowed into the house. She knew that her uncle will never turn her down.



Eva entered the house and saw Sydney and a good looking young man. But she didn't see Hailey.



Eva could see that they were about to eat and she thought that Hailey was still dawdling upstairs.



"I can see that you guys are about to have dinner. I'll go get Hailey. She should come eat" Eva immediately offered. She wanted to get closer to this family and so she did not mind bootlicking.



Eva immediately made her way upstairs. She used to come here a lot in the past and she knew where Hailey's room was.



The husband and wife looked at each other and sighed. They knew that things can't be good now that Eva is here.

Hailey and Boris were still inside the room. Hailey had her back against the wall and Boris was still standing too close to her.



"Is that really what you think Hailey? Do you really not like me at all?" Boris asked with his eyebrow raised.



Hailey could feel Boris breathe on her face as he talked to her. Maybe it was because he probably just brushed his teeth but he smelled of fresh mint.



Hailey tried to be calm so she could talk to Boris objectively.



"I really don't know what's going on in your head and I don't really care. But please don't draw conclusions that will cause unnecessary problems. I don't like you. I really don't. I'm only here because my mom said that I had to get you down for dinner which is exactly what I wanted to do! I knocked on your door several times but you didn't answer me. I came in because the door was open. There was no way for me to know that you were bathing. I am sorry for whatever inconveniences this may have caused you. As for looking at you, I have to admit that you have a good body. I'm sorry for looking. But I will be doing myself a disservice if I don't look!"
