Agreeing with Hailey

Meeting Boris Stern Again (4)

"Mom, I'm serious! You absolutely can't say this in front of Hailey. This concerns my future. I need to get close to her so that she can get me a Job in the city. I'm tired of living here in this small town that nothing ever happens. Let me tell you Mom, you think that Hailey is arrogant but she has the capital to be arrogant! She's the head of the design department! Do you know how great this is? Please don't ruin it for me!" Eva said angrily. She was hoping that her mother will put away her prejudice for Sydney and Hailey so it doesn't affect her plans.



Clara gasped when she heard this. She did not know that Hailey was so amazing.



"Really Eva? Is she really that great?" Clara asked in awe.



"Yes mom! Hailey is that great! She has the capital to be arrogant! She is already a department head at her age, before she is 30, she could very well become the general manager of the company! Think twice before you offend her because my future depends on her! You had better not ruin things for me!" Eva said. She was so damm jealous of Hailey. But now she has no other choice than to ask favours from her.



Eva knew how her mother could get stupid with her words. She did not want to ruin her chance to work abroad.



"Alright alright for the sake of my daughter's future. I'll put up with Sydney and her daughter for the time being. But let me tell you something, when you go with her to the city, you definitely must not copy her attitude! With that attitude of hers, she will never be a able to get a husband! I'm going to watch her become an old spinster!" Clara said. She was worried about her daughter's future so she was willing to compromise.



Eva had already convinced her mom not to cause problem for her so she was ready to listen to the gossip from her mother



"Really mom? What happened? What did Hailey do?" Eva asked.

"Hmph! Those two women are just too rude! We are all family members here! Since Hailey is back, why did she just go to her room without coming back out?! The mother and daughter pair doesn't really have any manners! It's all your Uncle's fault for letting the both of them do whatever they want!" Clara said.

Eva rolled her eyes. She knew that it was just her mother being jealous of Sydney for no good reason again.



"Mom, can you please stop picking on anything and everything aunt Sydney does now? It's just going to make you look pathetic!" Eva said angrily.



"What?! Eva you are my daughter! How can you be on thier side?" Clara asked in shock.



"Mom Please stop it! Don't think that I don't know what you are thinking in your heart! You are just jealous of Sydney because she married uncle Kent! Don't think that I don't know that you used to like uncle Kent and that you only settled to marry dad when he married aunt Sydney! I know all about it! Don't think that I don't know!" Eva finally lost her patience and snapped at her mother.



"Eva you ..how did you know?" Clara asked in shock. She wasn't expecting her daughter to bring this up. She thought that it was a long forgotten issue

"I over heard it when you and dad were arguing about it! Anyway, I don't care whatever problems that you had with aunt Sydney in the past! You had better watch your words and make sure that you don't say anything that's going to stop Hailey from helping me! Do everything that you can to win thier favour! I'm still Hailey's cousin after all and we used to be close in the past! As long as you don't mess this up, I'm sure that she will be more than willing to help me!" Eva said angrily.



Clara looked at her daughter and decided to keep quiet. She will never understand her pain, the pain of watching the mam she loved being happy with some other woman.. she hates Hailey and Sydney but because of her daughter's future, she has no other choice than to put up with them.

Hailey and her mom Sydney were in her room talking

"Hailey, you didn't have to come out. I'm more than enough to deal with that shrew Clara" Sydney said.

"Mom, I'm here so you don't have to deal with them on your own. I'm here" Hailey replied. She was mad when she thought of how her mother was dealing with those people all on her own.



"Hailey I.... "

Just then, Kent called out Sydney from the living room.



"Sydney, Hailey, come see who I have here with me!"

Hailey and Sydney looked at each other. They did not know what Kent was so excited about. They both rushed downstairs to see.

Kent broke into a smile when he saw his wife and his daughter.

Sydney was excited to see the two young men that had come with Kent.

The excited couple did not notice the horrified look on thier daughter's face.

"Isn't this....Mike and Boris?! Wow! I never expected to see the both of you in my life again! What are you both doing in Sunset town?!" Sydney asked, excited.

Sydney was surprised because most of the kids who lived in Sunset town for a white while never came back after they left.

Sunset town has always been a slow paced town. People who were used to the high life of the city never wanted to stay permanently.

"Mrs. Johnson, it's nice to see you again! You are still as beautiful as ever! Time never took a toll on you, Mrs Johnson! You and Hailey could definitely pass for younger sisters now!" Mike said in a flattering tone

Sydney was excited to hear a younger man praise her for her looks.



"You've always been a good talker Mike. Don't tease an old woman like him" As Sydney said this, she was blushing.



It was obvious that Kent, Sydney and Mike were happy to see each other.



Boris who didn't want to be in this place at all looked at Hailey and saw that she had a frown on her face. It was the first time in his life that he agreed with Hailey!
