A love fulfilled

I had a happy childhood, being born a princess afforded a lot more than most of my people had. Our lands were very poor thanks to the greed of my ancestors. My father King Raipharus was the same as his father and his father before him. They wanted complete rule over all lands, believing themselves to be better and stronger than any race. They plotted and started wars, they released terrible curses and all they succeeded in was burning our lands to ash. Forcing what was left of our race to live in poverty.

My mother Queen Paytalon was a reformer. She wanted to unite the lands as my father had but she didn't care who had total rule. She hoped that one day there would be a council with representatives of each race supporting the royal line. My mother taught me to think the same way. I loved my mother, even when she was killed. My father remarried and had two sons with his bride.

My brothers and I never spent time together, my father kept them away from me. I was the next ruler to our lands, my father always tried to convince me to abdicate the throne in place of the oldest son Aideous. After my mother was gone, I spent all of my time in the Academy, I needed to become stronger, powerful and smart if I wanted to be better for these lands. My actions only seemed to anger my father more.

" My father is an awful man and I know it was him because he killed my mother. I know he wants my brother to be the next in line and me out of the way. My Father is King warlock Raipharus Alizon and I am princess Saira Alizon, heir to the throne of Amar Eglir."

I waited while they stared at me and processed what I said I hoped I could trust them.

"Why didn't your father want you to rule after him?" Aurelia asked.

"Because he knows I would undo everything he worked his life to obtain. I hate the way our people are living; our lands are poor and alone. I want to bring peace food and safety."

"We have a similar problem then. My father and mother were killed by my aunt and she stole my throne."

"So, you're on your way to take it back?"

"Are you going to try and stop us or tell the king or queen our plans?" Kairios' question was angry and he had his hand on his sword.

"No Kairios, we don't have to worry about her she can help us." Aurelia said as she soothed his arm to relax.

" Aurelia is right. I want to help you, if you are ruling in the capital then making an alliance will be easy. We can finally have peace. I pledge myself to this cause and to you, my Queen Aurelia."





Kairios

The last few days passed quickly and in the same pattern. Wake up, eat, train and ride for hours. We mostly stayed in the woods and out of towns. We changed our plans and were now heading to the Warlock lands. Though Saira pledged herself to us it was clear she was still consumed by her fear for her father. Aurelia had to promise to get in and out as quick as possible and that she would deal with her father soon after she stopped her own corrupt family.

Today we were stopped at a market to gather some supplies where we heard the news. King Raipharus had named a new heir to the throne, claiming his daughter dead. People were saying that she was killed by the Dragon queen in an attempt to take over Amar Eglir.

This news was accompanied by talks of war and revenge.

After we left the market, we could see a change in Saira she seemed to want to face her fears and started training with us. She learned fast and had no desire to have a weapon, using her magic in place of sword or bow. Saira trained mostly with Aurelia throwing her energy attacks while Aurelia would dodge and attack.

Aurelia started training herself to half shift in a way she could use her wings and enhanced eyesight to shoot arrows from above. Everyday Aurelia would grow stronger and faster. I was in awe of the warrior she was becoming. Soon she was a better shot than me and it was a real challenge to beat her with swords. The three of us were becoming a formidable team.

It was getting dark while we set up a late camp alongside a lake that was hidden in the mountains. Saira had fallen asleep as soon as she sat down, for this I was grateful. It was rare to have alone time with Aurelia.

" Let's go for a walk Aurelia."

I took her hand as we walked alongside the lake for a bit. We came upon a small patch of soft green grass with wildflowers around it. We went into the open space. The lake was in front of us and the moon was the only light we had as it shimmered over the water.

I pulled her to me and kissed her with all the love and pride I had. She was surprised at first but quickly leaned in to me and kissed me back. We kissed like this for a long time, I was unwilling to break the kiss, even for breath. Aurelia pulled back but I wasn't letting her go. Taking my time to leave a trail of kisses down her neck.

I laid her down and kissed her again. Her breathing got heavy as she moaned my name. I wanted more of her, I pulled back and looked at her waiting for consent to continue.
