Beautiful lies
Aurelia
I waited for them to leave. Watching the backs of Kairios and Saira left an unnatural feeling coursing through my body. We should not be going different ways. As I watched them go the more I thought to myself how foolish this all was.
“Look away.” Galorian said from behind me.
I turned to look at him. “I hate this.”
“We are almost there. Soon our only concerns will be how long I can take you away from the throne.”
Large arms wrapped around me and pulled me in close. I was comforted by his closeness, but the amount of weapons across his body made it difficult to fully relax into him. I took a deep breath in, the smell of sea and sweat wrapped itself around me in its own hug.
I stayed in his arms as long as I dared with the dangers that seemed to always be around us. I turned around from him, still in his arms, and watched for the signal. It would be soon. I started to unbuckle my weapons and gave them over to Galorian to carry. He watched me as I undressed and I couldn’t help but sitting on the chair and opening my legs to him.
He threw down my weapons and walked over to stand in front of me. “My queen.” He said before falling to his knees.
A moment, something to quell the nerves coursing through my veins. His mouth was warm and hands warmer. He kissed his way up the inside of my leg until he rested at the center of me. One quick flick of his tongue had me throwing my head back and hands gripping into his hair.
I tried to watch for the signal, but struggled when his teeth would gently nip and the soft nerves exposed to him. The mastery of his fingers and tongue had me at the edge ready to explode. I wrapped my legs around his neck and when he plunged three fingers in for the first time, I lost control.
Fire erupted inside and out. At the moment the waves of pleasure hit was the same moment that the sky started to lighten in the distance. It was time.
I stood on shaking legs and said “are you ready to fly?”
“As high as you can take me, my queen.”
I kissed him, tasting the remnants of my pleasure still fresh on his lips. He gathered up the discarded belongings and followed me to the door. It had to be in the middle of the street, otherwise I would not be able to fit and take off.
My body still sung with the pleasure Galorian pulled forth and the change came on quickly and painless. I now stood before in all my scaled glory. He had Sen me this way once before, but never up close like this. Wonder filled his expression. If scales could blush mine would go from black and red to pure red with embarrassment and excitement.
I crouched down in a way that signaled he was to climb up. His weight was inconsequential to me as my mind started to fill with determination. One solid jump into the air them my wings would take over I braced my muscles and released into the air.
I didn’t jump as high as I would have like and had to use the roof tops to push up once more while my wings flashed out and started to pull us higher and higher into the sky. The roof tops started to grow smaller and smaller as we climber higher and higher. When I leveled out and was able to see much of the city, I took stock of the weight on my back. The way his legs clamped down against my scales and the way his body weight sat just above and between my wings.
“Amazing.” I heard him say as the wind whipped all around us.
Just above the cloud cover I search for the castle and directed myself towards it. If I searched from the sky I should be able to find the best spot to land. There were not as many lights as I would have liked to determine the safest landing spot. Here and there I could see a small fire ablaze in a room.
Along the walls I could see a small fire where a few demon’s were lined up and watching the city streets. I followed their line of sight and saw that they were fixated on the fore set by Kairios and Saira my eyes wanted to search the lower streets for them but I reminded self that they would be fine. I had to find where Zephyrus was hiding.
Oddly my side started to burn. My scars from his attack could sense that his evil was close by. The castle looked unfamiliar fro. The last time we were here. Nothing seemed to be the same. Each wall had more guards posted And closer together. Past the walls and in the court yard I could see more standing around waiting for orders.
I kept doing passes trying to remember how many guards sat where and what windows had a light shining through them. How much longer would it be until they met us here. Our plan to meet along the inner wall would not work. Demon’s stood in the exact position we had planned.
Why there? Had they caught Kairios and Saira. Were they being forced to and tortured into telling them our plan? I gave my head a good shake. No way I was letting worse case scenario thoughts cloud my mind. At the end of the day the only thing that really mattered was to defeat Zephyrus.
Only then would things like the lives of my loved ones be the deepest worry I had. I prayed for strength, almost bagged for determination. I went lower and took one more pass around the castle walls. A new light was shinning. From the tallest tower that had no walls. Only a cylinder shape with a roof held up only by columns of stone.
It was the same as my dream. Where I had met him before when he intruded into my sleeping mind . The source of the new light had to be from him. I turned my body slightly to the left and soared around the tower hoping to get a better view of what was inside.
From the height and distance I tried to maintain, I could see a long table, different then the one of my dreams. One end of the table housed a large chair with giant wings off the back side at the top. Not dragon wings from what I could tell but something with feathers. The pattern was strange to me , one I had never seen or heard of.
One the next pass I saw that a dark silhouetted figure sat in that chair. I knew where I had to go. He was clearly waiting for me. Another pass around to make sure there were no surprises hidden any of the dark corners. He seemed to be alone, thought he was still very dangerous I would at least have the advantage of two of us.
I turned my body again. There was no need to delay this any longer. I swooped in so fast that my claws scratched against the stone floor and wind blew a few chairs out of there original spot. I stayed as far away from him as possible and kept myself near the ledge. If he tried any attack I might be able to jump out in time.
“Well, it’s about time. I have been waiting for you.” He said to me as I stared at him.
I couldn’t speak in this form and decided that was for the best. I built up all the power I had and felt the fire Scorch my throat. The hottest attack I could do had to be enough to end his evil existence.
“That will not work on me my dear. This room is spelled against you and your powers.” He said with a smile on his lips. The right side of his mouth lifted lightly in a snide smile.
That bastard! There was nothing my power could do for me here? Galorian shifted on my back drawing my attention. He slide off me and came to stand next to my long neck.
“Ah, the pirate. How charming of you to bring him here. It has been ever so long since we last talked.”
Wait, what? They had talked before?
“I am not here to sell slaves nor am I hear to share in a rare drink with you, old friend.”
Old friend? What was happening? I started the shift I needed to be able to speak. I had weapons of another sort, I did not need my fire to end his life. Galorian sensed what I was doing and came to stand in front of me, blocking Zephyrus’ view of my naked flesh. He handed me my cloak and weapons only. Where my shirt and pants were I did not know nor did I care. My body had been viewed by so many that I no longer cared.
“Your friends with him?” I asked Galorian.
“Business relationship only. As I have said. I am your man now.”
“How simple and boring.” Zephyrus sighed. “The world lays at your feet peasant and you choose a dyeing breed?”
“What do you know of the world?” Galorian shot back, obviously a nerve was struck and from the look on Zephyrus’ face, he knew it as well.
“I know much and more than you, little human. The world is mine for the taking. All will belong to me. Including the last dragon.” He started the statement looking at Galorian and ended it with a look at me that burned in my soul.
The last dragon? Did that mean his knew not of Vesta? If that was the case them he would die by the hands of what he liked to call the last dragon. I would bathe in his blood by the end of the day. No longer would Saira live in fear of him.
“This is over.” I spoke to Zephyrus for the first time. “Surrender to me and I will make your death a quick one. Choose to fight us and we will end you in the most painful ways possible.”
His only response was to laugh, loudly. He even went so far as to throw his head back dramatically.
“The joys that you will bring me over the years of your enslavement. Just thinking about them gets my blood rushing. Your flesh will be my flesh. I will do what ever I want when ever I want. And there will be nothing you can do about it!”
“Enough!” Galorian shouted as he drew his sword and launched at Zephyrus. I reached out to try and stop him but I was to late. I drew my arrow and bow from my back and nocked. That fool! Why would he charge?
Zephyrus sat with a smile on his face and watched as Galorian drew closer and closer. He raised his hand at the same moment that I pulled back. His hand flicked out and sent Galorian to the ground, sliding to the edge of the room. Just as I turned to run to catch him I could hear the sound of arrow piercing soft flesh.
I wasn’t going to make it. Horror washed through me as I watched Galorian’s body slip over the side. My ears rang with my screams.
