Chapter 21

It took Lumae about an entire hour to get ready. When she went down, Dominic was waiting for her, holding out his hand and leading her to the dining room. When they got there, there was an incredibly large table with a chandelier hanging right above it. It had everything from the fanciest decor, the most ravishing bacon to the tastiest cup of coffee.

"Breakfast is served," he said in an odd butler-y way, but Lumae couldn't help but smile at his efforts.

"Thank you m'lord."

Doninic smiled cockily, clearly finding another opportunity to mock Lumae. "Oh, so you want to be lord and lady of the house, ay?"

Lumae felt embarrassed and swooshed a firm hand to Dominic's chest. "Seriously Dominic, you've gotta stop teasing me, or I might just take you up on that offer."

Dominic smiled as he went to pull out her chair and gestured his hand towards it, "Well, I wouldn't mind that."

Lumae smiled and made sure she sat down slowly, grazing down on Dominic to grab his attention. Dominic, clearly trying to keep his composure, steps away and heads towards the opposite side of Lumae, across the terribly long dinner table.

They tried to eat, but every bit of them wanted each other, yearned for each other, but they knew that they had to calm down. After a terribly awkward breakfast, Dominic stood up and held out his arm in a gentlemanly manner and Lumae accepted his gesture. He then led her to the exit of the house and straight to the garage where Lumae was stunned with a gorgeous, black rimac nevera. "You've got to be kidding me! We're riding in that?!"

Dominic smiled, held up the car keys and jiggled them. "Nope," he said and threw the keys in the air and Lumae luckily caught them before they could hit the ground.

"You're driving it."

Lumae started smiling widely and immediately sprung into the car, waiting excitedly for Dominic to enter. He then chuckled and calmly went to the car. "So where are we going, Dominic?"

"I'll tell you which way to go, don't you worry."

They then set off with Dominic telling Lumae where to turn and where to move forward. They then eventually made it to another huge mansion, even bigger then the one they were previously at. "I welcome you to what I like to call, my second home, but before we enter, I just want to take a stroll with you around the building. There are a few things I need to explain to you."

Lumae excitedly smiled, "Okay."

They then parked the car and started heading in the direction of a huge willow tree hiding a gorgeous pond with a bench beside it. As they walked towards it Dominic suddenly started off, "Well, Lumae, I don't really know how you're going to handle this..." They walked through the long leaves of the willow tree and started heading towards the bench.

"This place, and the people in it, we... well, we're all part of some separate business, business that I'm not completely sure you'd like..."

Lumae looked confused at Dominic, "What kind of business, is it legal?"

"Well...no, we mostly deal with illegal substances, murder, etc." He sighed. "Lumae, I am the leader of the Griseo Lunam mafia group, which is one of the most notorious mafia groups in the world, but before you spring up and run off, please just understand that I have to do this. I have to finish everything my father has started, and I don't want to lie to you, but I also don't want to lose you to the truth, so I'm asking you to please understand."

Lumae was shocked by that name, 'Griseo'. She'd seen it before, more like, she'd dreamed it before. Then it dawned on her, the terrible feeling she had about that word, might be because her mate is in danger because of the group, that her dreams were warning her. "Dominic, I'm not scared or mad or anything, I'm just worried about you being in danger because of this."

Dominic smiled, cupped Lumae's right cheek and pulled her closer to him. "Lumae, I promise you, no matter what happens, I'll get through, just for you." He then leaned in for a sweet, romantic kiss under the willow tree.

When the kiss was over, Dominic sprung up and held out his hand. "Well, now that that's out of the way, let me introduce you to the group. Well they're more like family, but yeah."

Lumae smiled and grabbed Dominic's hand. Then he proceeded to lead her into the mansion, where they were first met by two armed guards standing at the door, both greeting Dominic with a polite, "Boss."

"Could you please call everyone to the meeting room? I want to introduce them to somebody."

Not even minutes later, almost 30 or 40 people were sitting around one massive table with a few people standing around it here and there. "We're usually much more than this, but some of my people were sent to deal with some business."

Lumae shook her head slowly, not knowing how to respond. "Good day, Griseo's, it's been a while since I've last seen you, but I come with an important announcement. This woman beside me is Lumae Moonshaddow, and she is my fiancé." Everyone, including Lumae looked confused at Dominic, but he reached out for her hand in order to let her know to play along, and she immediately understood him. She put on her best act, smiling at him dearly.

"She will be in charge in my presence. In the meantime, I want you all to make sure that she is as comfortable as possible until next week, whilst I'm busy dealing with that other business. I'm sure I can rely on you all." Lumae once again shot Dominic a look of confusion.

"Business? What business and why are you leaving me here?" Dominic then gently took Lumae's hand and pressed his lips against it.

"As I said, Lumae, no matter what happens, I'll make sure to get through it, but until then, I need you to be in the safety of my people, people that I trust. I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning, so don't try to wake up to say goodbye, I'll just leave you a message." He then went to kiss her forehead and left the room, everyone else following behind and Lumae was now once again, left alone.
