Chapter 36

Lumae and Dominic stood up early the next morning and quickly ate breakfast at the kitchen island. Lumae leaned forward onto the island as she took a bite of her breakfast. "So, are you ready for the big day?"

Dominic smiled, "Why wouldn't I be? I'll be with the most beautiful woman on the earth."

Lumae chuckled, "Well this woman won't be so beautiful if she has to rush because she's late."

Lumae then walked upstairs whilst Dominic prepared some road snacks. When he had finished and went up to join Lumae, he was stunned to see her in the striking red dress they bought the other day. He knew it was a gorgeous dress, but he didn't know how well it'd bring out Lumae's features. Her eyes. Her light completion. Her dark hair that she was busy curling with a curl iron.

Lumae noticed Dominic in the mirror and quickly turned to him. "Dominic?"

She looked worried as she noticed how lustful Dominic's eyes were. "I think it's time to take your pills as well."

Dominic quickly came to his senses and realised that his heat was due today. He then quickly rushed back down the stairs and into the kitchen. He grabbed the pills, a glass of water and immediately chugged one of his red pills with all the water. He then calmly went back up, only to now find Lumae doing her finishing touches on her make-up. She was putting on a dark-ish red lipstick to match her dress, and it only made her stand out even more.

Dominic slowly walked to Lumae, hunched down onto the small bench with his one knee and wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning his head on her shoulder. "To think that I thought someone as outstanding as you could've been a threat to the Tenebris pack. How wrong I was back then. Yet you somehow seem to be a huge threat to me, Lumae Moonshaddow. You drive me completely and utterly insane."

Lumae smiled and wrapped her hand around his head. "Thank you, Dominic, but you really should be getting ready or we'll be late."

Dominic scoffed jokingly, "Yeah, yeah, I'm going."

Lumae was back downstairs packing yhe last few essentials into her handbag. When Dominic came downstairs, Lumae couldn't help but stare at him, his red tie was perfectly matching her dress. His suit fit perfectly at all the right places. He then swung his jacket over him to put it on, letting Lumae see his muscular figure through the suit.
She then noticed that she herself had almost forgotten to drink her pills. Lumae then also sprinted towards the pills as well as a bottle of water and quickly ingested the pill. She then grabbed both of the viles and packed them into her handbag for safety.

They then went off to a venue Dominic's beta booked near the manor. It was large, elegant and beautifully decorated. Lumae was amazed by how gorgeous everything looked, but she could immediately feel everyone's hateful eyes on her. Dominic also noticed it and took a step back to walk beside Lumae. He then grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips, giving a sweet, soft, loving kiss. When he looked up from Lumae's hand, everyone's eyes were now averted.

Lumae and Dominic took their seats at a circular table with six other people. She didn't know any one of them, but she still kindly greeted them. "So, Dominic. Mind telling us who this charmer of a lady with you is?"

Dominic smiled, "This is my mate, and luna of the Tenebris Lupus pack, Lumae Moonshaddow." Dominic looked over to Lumae.

"And Lumae, these are some of my old friends and their plus ones from the Taedios pack. The pack that my father sent me for 3 years to get stronger."

Lumae smiled, "Oh, it's lovely to meet you all."

They all exchanged a disgusted glance at each other, as if they did not approve of Lumae either being the luna or being with Dominic. One of the men sat back into his chair and placed his hands behind his head in a relaxed manner. "Moonshaddow, huh? Why isn't it Mortez yet? Haven't you sealed the deal yet or something?"

The woman beside him immediately wacked him in his stomach, causing him to fix his posture from the sudden pain. "I'm sorry about that Luna Lumae. Tristan here, is what we like to call, the jokester of the group. He actually means well."

Lumae lifted her arms resistantly, "Oh no, it's completely alright, and please, just call me Lumae. If you're friends with Dominic, we'll be seeing each other quite a lot, so we might just drop the formalities now."

The woman laughed, "Alright then. You know what Lumae, I think we'll be great friends."

Lumae smiled and was about to say something else when sge was interrupted by a person standing on a stage, announcing Dominic's birthday and how a wonderful alpha he is. A few other family members then went on stage to basically do the same, and last but not least, it was Dominic's turn to finally go on stage.

He sighed quietly before talking into the mike. "Good day everybody. Thank you all for being able to make it here tonight. Thank you for all your good wishes, and thank you for not bailing this boring party yet." Some people chuckled at Dominic's dry joke.

"Anyway, so today isn't just about celebrating my birthday or another day of being alpha, I'm also here to present to you, my lovely, beautiful, strong mate and luna." Dominic gestured his hand towards Lumae as if she was a trophy.

"Lumae Moonshaddow." He then waved his hand towards him, telling Lumae that she should go to him. She then awkwardly stood up and headed on stage. She wasn't expecting an applause or anything, but she also wasn't expecting everyone to try and death stare her to her grave.

Lumae then awkwardly stood next to Dominic. "Lumae is truly an incredible person, who puts the pack's needs before her own. She was highly blessed by the moon goddess herself on the night of her luna ceremony. She is the future of the Teneb-"

A person in the crowd cut Dominic's speech short. "There are rumours from your aunt that she's the last of the White Moons and that she's out for us all. What would you do when she finally decides to take revenge? When she stabs you in your back with a smile? What will you do if she ruins us all? Will you take responsibility then?"

Lumae was shocked. She didn't expect this to happen. She didn't expect them to know about her being a White Moon, but she couldn't move. She couldn't get off the stage. She was stuck under the spotlight with nowhere to go and nothing to say. It was as if someone bound her to the ground, and Dominic knew that this was only one of his aunt's plans to ruin Lumae.
