Chapter 37
The spotlight on Lumae then suddenly dropped and Lumae immediately stormed off the stage. She then headed out of the venue and ran away, not looking back, she then shifted into her wolf form, not caring who saw her shift, and ran for as far as her legs could take her. She eventually reached a cliff and stopped just before falling.
She was then stunned by an extremely gloomy scene, and transformed from the shock of the quick change of scenery. A place that seemed to have once been a forest was now a wasteland. No trees, nor animals could have possibly lived there. There was a river running through the deadland, but the strong, life-bearing water couldn't even bring life to this area. Lumae then sensed someone sneaking up behind her and immediately turned around.
"Who are you?" The person was clearly taken aback at how easily Lumae was able to sense him.
"I'm Noel, a rogue that's been living here for almost three years."
Lumae was confused as to how anyone would be able to live here at all, but she remembered that some people have strange likes. "Oh, wow, that's interesting."
The rogue looked at Lumae as though he didn't know what to say next. As if they were doing a play and Lumae said the wrong lines. The rogue looked down at his feet and sighed. "Look. I know you're a luna, and I'm not asking you to accept me into your pack, just, to help me find a pack willing to take me in."
Lumae sighed and thought for a moment. Their pack couldn't possibly take in a rogue as one of them. Their customs don't allow them to do so without good reason and none of the other packs would take him in. She then remembered something. Landon, the rogue aloha, who seems to almost be able to form his own pack, could take in this rogue so they can have a little more help. Lumae then smiled at the rogue.
"I think I might just know someone that could help. You'll just have to follow me." Lumae then walked past the rogue, turning her back to him to lead the way. This time the rogue brought a cloth, with a specially made chemical substance of wolfsbane and lightswoon, to Lumae's face. She didn't know why, but for some reason it immediately took effect. She couldn't fight it, nor could she escape it. Lumae then blacked out.
When she woke up, she couldn't realise where she was or how long it'd been. Her hands were bound by specially made cuffs, her ears were muffled with a special headset, her mouth was covered and there were smell blockers all around her. No one was in the room with her at the moment, so she managed to try and inspect the room to get an image of where she was, but nothing stood out to her.
Moments later, a man with a scar across his face, walked into the room and took off Lumae's headset. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the famous Luna Lumae. You know, we've been trying to find a weakness in the Tenebris pack and the Griseo group, but we just couldn't find any. Untill now that is."
The man smiled. "Your lovely mate has until tomorrow morning to give over his title as the best mafioso as well as give over all his territory in order to get you back, and if he doesn't..." The man looked over to one of his henchmen standing at the door.
He looked back at Lumae. "My buddy over there will have to get his hands dirty."
Lumae didn't know how she was going to escape from this place, so all she could do was stare at the person in front of her, not knowing what would happen to her next as he exited the room.
Meanwhile, Jurian rushed towards Dominic in a panic. "Alpha." Dominic looked over to him and immediately knew that something wasn't right.
"Jurian, what's wrong?" Jurian seemed worried, as though he didn't know how to tell Dominic.
Dominic's face then immediately turned serious. "Jurian, what happened?"
Jurian swallowed the lump in his throat. "W-Well Alpha... Yhe Luna has been kidnapped by the Rhia pack, also known as the Fuoco family."
Dominic immediately sprung into action. All he could see was red. His mate was in trouble, and he had to do something about it. "Any demands so far?"
Jurian nodded. "He wants all the territory, as well as the title of the best mafioso."
Dominic pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Do we know where Lumae is?"
Jurian nodded again, "Yes, Alpha. She is held at an old factory next to the deadlands. They seem to be highly equipped with specialised weaponry, but they did seem to miss an underground area. We're waiting for your command, Alpha. We might not be big in numbers right now, but we are still strong."
Dominic was about to give the order, but realised that he couldn't risk his pack. He then walked over to the stage and grabbed the mike. "Good day everyone. I know you all seem to dislike Lumae, because of her blood, but she really is an amazing person. All she'd ever done, was help the pack. She stuck by me when no one else did, she tried to fight for her pack even though she didn't know where to even start from. She tried her very best to try and please everyone here tonight on my birthday celebration. Yet all of you shamed her by asking useless questions to stir up rumours. You all went against my mate, my luna, my fiancé to be and still think we'd be allies after this? Well, here's the chance to make up for it. Stand by me and help me fight to get her back. The Rhia pack managed to capture Luna Lumae and are demanding my position. So stand and fight with me."
After Dominic's speech, almost the entire room stood up and prepared themselves for a fight. No one expected the celebration to turn out like this, but it sure did get everyone to finally see Lumae's worth.
