Chapter 29 - Grieving Gina

"Last night, Gina also went to the Golden Hall, and she saw everything, right in front of me, and she jumped off the cliff."
My tone was more even than I expected, and I saw that Forsford stopped himself from trying to go out the door, and I stood up and stood behind him and continued: "Indeed, I cannot understand how you feel, because I never felt that I loved Gina until she died, but when she disappeared in front of me, I hated my myself! All this time, I never really faced her, and if God gave me another chance, I think I would change my ways! I will repent, I will correct, and I will do everything I can to apologize to her!"
Horsford stood by my side and didn't say anything for a long time. I didn't feel relieved to say these words, but I felt a deeper sense of guilt, and how I wanted to see Gina again!
Gina's POV
The day the ritual was over, I sat on my bed, thinking about what William had said to me during the day, and once again I felt so miserable about my fate, that this man had never been in love with me, and that there was no point in guarding such a love anymore.
I heard the sound of the maids changing shifts outside the door. They would be changing shifts after dinner, which meant that their night shift was about to begin.
I felt something different at the door, so I got up and was ready to go out and take a look. When I got to the door, I saw a letter handed in from underneath the doorway, and I immediately opened the door, but there was nothing outside the door. The maid, because of her shift, would go to her room for a few minutes of preparation, so the person who delivered this letter must not be the maid!
I looked around and didn't see anyone. Although my eyes don't penetrate the night like a real werewolf, I can see everything, but the blurred silhouettes I can distinguish clearly.
After confirming that there was no one around, I picked up the letter on the floor, went into my room, sat on my bed, and opened the envelope with a single line: "See you in the Golden Hall at 10:00 p.m."
It was from Shirley! My heart was very excited, I hadn't seen Shirley for a long time! But in addition to the excitement, I was also a little worried, because after Shirley went to Forsford's home, none of the things that happened these days can tell Shirley, if she asked me, how have I been doing lately, how can I answer?
As I put on my makeup, I thought about what I should say when I saw Shirley.
"Oh! My dear sister, why have you become so thin and weak, I haven't seen you for a few days, did that wretched William abuse you?"
"Oh! My baby, please don't say that, William is so good to me! I can be fed every day! Oh! No! I can eat very well every day! I already feel that obesity is already beckoning me shortly!"
I think there should be no problem in saying that.
"Oh! How's it going, honey?"
"Damn it! Dear sister, why didn't you contact me? Is it because you're living happily at Forsford-Osama's mansion? Has it made you forget that you have such a lovely sister?"
I don't think this kind of ripping off the subject would pass muster in front of Shirley, and I think it needs to be coupled with something like, "Oh! Damn! My dear Shirley, do you know how much I've been wanting to see you these days? I've been so happy lately! I wanted to see you so that I could share my happiness with you, and I think you must have a very happy life at Lord Forsford's mansion too! But I am sure that I am happier than you!"
I can be sure that Shirley would be grinning happily if I said that because her constant wish is for me to be happier than she is!
"Oh! My dear, I came to see you because I heard about what happened at the ritual today, nothing happened to you, right?"
I was able to guess that Shirley wanted to see me now and had problems with today's ritual because she told me before she went to work that she would only show up if something unhappy happened to me.
But I've also thought about how I should answer this question.
"Oh! God, what on earth did you hear? Do you believe such absurd words? My dear sister! William was so worried about my health that he had Ambow attend in my place to give me rest, and as you know, Shirley, Luna must wear her gown with a veil, and that lovely Ambow was so similar to me that I was pleased with her performance!"
"Of course! Not what Ambow did to me! Oh! God! Which damned person told you this anyway? I hate to worry my dear sister so much, let alone something so simple!"
I thought carefully about the words I had made up and felt that my lying skills had improved a lot more and I was satisfied with my preparation. After I finished packing, I turned off the lights in the room, closed the door, and headed for the golden hall.
Since it was a meeting with Shirley, I didn't want to take the car. I didn't want William to think I was a superior Luna, even though he didn't care what I thought.
As I walked, I repeated my answers and kept coming up with as many questions as Shirley could ask me.
I've almost recited the words I just made up, and I have complete confidence in what I'll do next!
Time flies, I walked to the golden hall at almost ten o'clock, without the light of the artificial moon on the roof, the surroundings here made me feel very scared because I could not see what would be inside the darkness surrounding me as if humans will always have fear of the unknown.
I turned on my cell phone, the faint light barely illuminated the road ahead, and I sped up, out of fear and because I wanted to see Shirley as soon as possible!
I walked into the golden hall and saw the light on in the room I used to live in. Shirley knew where my room was, and I figured she would come here first when she came out of Lord Forsford's house.
My heart was very excited, I flew upstairs and stood at the door of my room, I didn't knock because I wanted to give Shirley a surprise, I used to like to play games like this and often scared Shirley so much that she jumped up, but I knew it was all Shirley playing along with my act, but I still had fun!
I pushed the door open violently and shouted, "Shirley!"
But I didn't get the same scene as before. I didn't see Shirley standing in front of me, and I didn't see anyone who was jumping backward in fear. I looked around the room once, and I found someone sitting next to the dressing table in the deepest part of the room, and her figure resembled Shirley's.
I could be sure that person was Shirley, and I closed the door and walked towards her.
"My dear sister, why don't you deserve to perform with me today, so that I will feel no fun, I know you invited me to come and sit here so seriously because I'm angry because I haven't contacted you for a long time?"
My words went unanswered, and I stood behind Shirley, smelling a faint scent of blood. My nose is not as sharp as a real werewolf's, but I could sense that things were not what I thought they were.
I went to pat Shirley's shoulder, and instead of turning around and calling me a naughty boy, as she always does, she gradually slid downward and fell straight to the ground because of the force of my blow!
I stepped back in shock, and I could confirm in that instant that it was Shirley!
I lay on the ground and saw that blood kept flowing from Shirley's chest, soaking through her clothes and flowing on the ground.
"Shirley!" I picked her up and called out her name desperately, but got no response.
"Shirley! Who made you like this? Why have you become like this? Aren't you the bravest and strongest warrior woman? No one! No one can hurt you at all! Who killed you!"
I could feel my blood rushing, my eyes protruding, my anger making me lose my mind, and if the killer was in front of me at this time, I would kill him! Absolutely would!
I kept shouting and crying, I felt my world had completely lost hope, my only hope was my sister, who had tried to kill me several times but was saved, at that time I would thank them and give me another chance to repay my sister. But! My sister is dead!
Suddenly, the hand I was holding Shirley's hand felt grabbed, I looked down and saw Shirley's hand moving, she was trying to hold my hand, but she was too weak to hold my hand no matter how she tried.
I was so surprised that I grabbed her hand and shouted, "Shirley! God! Are you alive? Thank God!"
I saw the corners of Shirley's mouth rise slightly, she was smiling, but she was so weak, I didn't want her to use up her strength for it.
"Shirley, wait a moment, I'll dress your wound, I'll ask William to hire the best doctor to treat you!" Shirley, you have to save your strength!
Shirley closed her eyes, she could no longer speak, and when she opened them again, she was looking at me, and I could feel her sadness in her eyes.
"Shirley, you're not going to die, don't be sad, we'll be together forever! You are my good sister! The best sister I've ever had! I haven't had the time to repay you! Please, please don't leave me! I beg you not to ......"
I could no longer contain my tears, I hugged Shirley and cried.
She held my hand so tightly that I could feel it was her last strength. I could see her shaking her head so hard that I knew she didn't want me to be sad.
"Yes, sister, I will not cry, I will be happy, dear sister, please do not die, please must see me happy!"
The corners of Shirley's mouth rose, she was smiling, but it was also her last smile, time was frozen at this moment, I hugged Shirley and cried, my sister was dead!
