"Where is Kara?" Damon grabbed Jacob's collar as soon as he found him in the sight, "is she okay?"
Jacob tried to move him away from himself, "Man, let go of my collar first."
"What the hell did you do to her?!" Damon roared in anger, "what the fuck happened?"
"She is alright! Nothing happened, just a small wound on head." Jacob freed himself from Damon's hold forcefully, coughing to make his own breathing become regular again, "she just went away a minute ago. She was fine."
"I am going to deal with you later." Damon threatened in all seriousness and turned away to rush out immediately. His heart was thumping hard in worry while his forehead was covered in sweat. As soon as he had gotten the call from Jacob about Kara getting into an accident, he had run out like his life had been snatched away from him.
He got inside the elevator, and after reaching the ground floor, he ran out onto the road blindly to look for Kara. His driver called out to him but he ignored the driver's call and ran out in the direction where his home was. After a couple of minutes, he finally saw her across the street.
"Kara!" he called out.
Kara turned in his direction. His eyes fell on the patched up wound on her forehead, and the worry ate at him even more. He hurriedly crossed the road, not even caring about the blaring car horns.
"Don't rush!" Kara shouted from the other side of the road, but he ignored her words and somehow crossed the busy road fastly. Kara ran down the pavement and rushed towards him. He instantly grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her in a deep hug. Kara was still for a moment, but then she also wrapped her arms around his waist.
"God... you made me worried sick." he whispered in her neck, "Are you alright?"
Kara smiled at his words. He really did sound like all the energy from his body had been drained away. She patted his back assuringly, "I am okay. Just a scratch."
"What even happened?" he asked and pulled back from the hug, then without waiting for her answer, he fished out his phone first, "give me a minute."
He dialed his driver's number, and sent him his location, asking him to come fast. His arm kept a tight hold around Kara's shoulder protectively until the driver arrived there within a couple of minutes. Both of them got in, and then Kara told him everything that happened with Jacob.

"I don't think staying here is a good idea." Kara murmured worriedly, "being at a hotel, you and me alone. It is going to create a huge drama again if the word got to the reporters."
Damon pulled her inside the suite and made her sit down on the bed. Bringing a bottle of water to her, he handed her a glass and filled it up, "I will let mom and dad know of it so they are not worried. We are going to shift in our own home a week later anyway. What are you worried about, princess?" he said with a smile.
Kara looked into his assuring eyes, and gave in. She was too tired to argue with him and just wanted to get some rest without any interference.
"Get changed." Damon put his hand on her cheek and murmured softly, "I will order some food."
"I am not really hungry. I just need a bit of rest." Kara stood up from her seat, "what should I change into? I don't have any clothes."
"Sleep naked?" Damon grinned mischeivously.
Kara smacked his shoulder playfully and rolled her eyes.
"There should be a bathrobe in the washroom. Wear that for now."
Taking his suggestion, Kara agreed and changed her clothing to wear the black, long bathrobe that hung in the washroom. Getting out of the tight clothing after such a long day felt like haven.
When she came out, Damon was nowhere in sight. Kara climbed into the bed and covered herself up with the duvet. It was the first time she was staying in a hotel room with Damon, so she felt nervous and worried. Even though she knew that Damon had brought her here for her own convinience, she still could not help but feel awkward. There was only one bed in the room, did it mean that he was going to sleep next to her?
