"Kyle, have some papers made for me." James barked out the orders as soon as his PA picked up the call, "I want them on my table within an hour. I am emailing you the details."
He hung up the phone and directly barged inside the grand hall of their office building. He saw Kara and Damon walking towards their floor through the automatic stairs, his gaze followed them, but he didn't follow them. Instead, he continued on his way and got inside the lift, going straight to his own office.
The elevator dinged, and he was out. His hands fished for something in his pocket, anything that would put his mind at ease, but there was nothing that would touch his hand. In frustration he pushed back his hair roughly and slammed open his own door, going straight to his office table. Punching down the keys, he quickly formed up a details, read through everything carefully and mailed it to Kyle to have it authorized.
His mind kept going back to the news he had seen as well as the sight of Damon and Kara going up together. The stress he had been experiencing from the past days since Kara had left intensified and molded into something more darker, and dangerous. He worried if the next step that he was going to take was not going to ruin everything. But it was the last resort he had left. Kara and Damon's wedding was less than a week away. He had very less time to take action.

Six Days Later : The Day of The Wedding
"Have all the guests arrived? Nothing is wrong, right? Everything is in place?" Lara worriedly checked on everything that was being decorated and handed out. It was almost time for the bride and groom's entry. The guests had already arrived. She did not want anything to go wrong.
"Mom." Neil came rushing up to the old lady in a royal blue suit. It made him look about ten years younger than his real age. While he was over sixty years old, the crisp, sharp cloth and the happiness of the occasion brightened up his whole personality signaficantly. His wife, Rita was also dressed in the same colored gown, looking no less than a celebrity on a red carpet.
"Mom, don't take so much stress. You are going to tire yourself out. Watch your health." Neil worriedly pulled her towards a chair at the front seats, "we have already checked everything. All is good. Nothing for you to worry about not."
Lara smiled up at Neil happily, "It is the wedding of my grandchildren! I am not tired at all."
"It would still give me a peace of mind if you don't move around much." Neil put his hands on his mother's shoulders with a smile, "if your blood pressure spiked, or anything else happened to your health, who is going to pay us back for this wedding arrangements? You really want all my money to go to a waste?"
Lara smacked his hand with a pout at his joke, but then nodded her head in understanding at him, "Where is Kara? Is she all ready?"
"Just about to make her grand arrival, mother." Neil grinned happily.

"Damon! For the third time I am having to repeat this!" Kara shouted once again from behind the closed door, "this is the third time you are knocking on the door within past five minutes. It is not auspecious for the groom to see the bride before she comes down the alter."
"You and I both don't believe in that crap, princess! Come on! Just one peek and I will not disturb you again, hmm?"
"Shoo." she shook her head in exasperation. He was being so insistenet, it was almost driving her mad.
Silence fell on the other side of the door for a few minutes, and she finally turned to look at herself in the floor to ceiling lenth mirror. The white dress she had already selected earlier hugged her frame so delicately. Her hair were tied up in a messy up do while a glowing diamond crown seemed to hold the whole hairstyle in place. Her makeup had been done mild, like she was not even wearing anything, and everything, each feature of her whole body was enhanced naturally. She had never looked so gorgeous in her whole life, the only thing that was missing, was the smile that should have been on her face on such a happy day.
James had not showed up in front of her at all throughout the week, almost like he had disappeared from the city. His family had tried getting in touch with him, but each time Kyle had picked up the call mentioning James is busy. While his disappearance hurt her heart, it was for the best perhaps. The pain will not be as intense for both of them in this moment.
The knock on the door came again, this time a bit harder than previous three times. Kara sighed out loud in exhasperation. This man was turning into an infuriating little monster now.
She finally stormed towards the door to slam it open, "For the love of god, Damon. I am sayin-"
Her words stopped in her throat when she realized that the person standing in front of her was not Damon. It was James.
His eyes raked over her from top to bottom, taking in her attire before coming back to meet her brown eyes, "You look beautiful." the words seemed to have slipped out of his mouth without even realizing.
Kara nodded her head a little, she could not form any words because her throat had choked up as soon as she saw him in front of her eyes and the realization hit- she was bidding good bye to this man forever from this day forward. After today none of them would be able to go back to the way they were in the past with each other.
This was going to be the end of Kara and James. The end of all the childhood memories, teenage crush, young, hidden affection, and... their love.
