Chapter 24

Sandhya's POV



I opened my eyes and I was shocked to see that I was cuddled into Dr Rathore.

Oh god !! My head was resting on his shoulder. And one of my hand was resting on his chest, I could feel his heartbeat. I would have removed my hand immediately, but his hand was holding mine. I slid my hand carefully and got off the bed making minimum movements.

I was embarrassed as hell. I even wished that by some miracle he doesn't come to know that we slept like this.

I didn't know what to do, I had to go out. But what if, Sumeet is here?

But I could not stay in this room. He was sleeping, so I peeped outside and I saw Chirag, so I slipped out of his room.

He was having tea. " Hey, how are you feeling today? Why didn't sir wake us? "

" We must have slept... " I said, and he smiled mischievously.

" Yes, I just saw that. " He winked at me. I was as red as a beetroot.

" It is not what you think... " I tried to explain.

" Just relax sweetheart, I understand. "

" Hey, Good morning... How are you Sandhya? " Ajay had just come out of his room.

" I am good. Thanks to all of you. "

" Don't be silly, we didn't do anything. And no one turned up, I think it was some kind of prank. " Ajay said.

" Hmm, it looks like... Otherwise, someone must have come." Chirag said while scratching his head.

" But why and who would do that? What is the benefit of that?" I was so irritated with the thought that it might be a prank as I was scared as hell.

We were talking about the incident when Dr Rathore came and joined us.

He came and sit beside me. I immediately got very much aware of our proximity. I was turning redder with each passing second.

I couldn't even look into his eyes.

" What are you all discussing? " Sir asked.

" Ajay and I think that someone pranked with her, as nobody came," Chirag said.

" But why do you think so? It could be possible that he just wanted to scare her or maybe he came but saw that we were there to help and protect her. "Dr Rathore said.

" But the main thing is nothing happened and nobody came. She is just safe." Said Ajay.

" Hey !!! all of you are talking about me as if, I am not here. " They all smiled at me.

" Let's have breakfast yaar. I am so hungry that I can even eat a horse. Hey !! What is in the breakfast?? The dinner was very heavy and spicy. I wish Sandhya had packed some breakfast for today as well. " Ajay said and Chirag nodded and smiled.

" Well, actually I have," I said smiling.

" What? Are you serious? "Dr Rathore asked. Three of them were looking at me as if I had two heads.

" I am serious, I prepared breakfast for today as well. I made very healthy Methi Theplas ( Gujarati traditional food... It is a flatbread which keeps fresh for a week) for all of us. "

The cook of the guest house laid the table with stuffed grilled sandwiches and aaloo parantha along with chutneys and pickles.

Chirag tried the food, but he didn't like it much. Again it was very spicy.

" It is very spicy. What are you waiting for Sandhya? please get them here. " said Chirag.

" But what about all this food? We must give it to someone needy. " I said.

Dr Rathore nodded and asked him to give this food to anyone who wanted, he nodded.

I got them and the chutneys that go with them.

I served it on the table. They all ate Theplas. Everyone loved them.

" Wow !! You are awesome, Sandhya. Do you have anything else?? How do you cook so much?" Asked Ajay.

I looked at Dr Vikram and he was smiling a bit while looking at me.

I was somehow getting affected just by him looking at me.

" Tell me Sandhya, how can you call them healthy? They are just methi parantha? " He asked smirking at me.

" Well, sir it is very healthy. As the Fenugreek leaves are very good for our body. Plus some garlic is also added to it, which is full of goodness. Some of the besan ( gram flour) is added to it which is a good source of protein. It is quite a healthy breakfast option.

" Ok ok. Don't get worked up, I was just teasing you. They are awesome." He said and then he came near me and whispered near my ear, " Just like you, I mean your Laddoos. " I looked at him and he winked at me. I blushed.

I had two boxes full of the Laddoos. One was already with him, I brought the other one and offered it to them. Ajay and Chirag were really happy to eat them. They went to their room to get ready for the camp.

I offered it to Dr Devil and he just smiled and took two Laddoos.

" You see I can't resist them. " He was grinning like anything.

" It is ok sir, you can have this box as well. "

" Don't tempt me, Sandhya." He said and I blushed.

" Hey, why are you blushing? "

" What?? I am not"

" Yes, you are. "

" No sir, you are mistaken."

" I can prove it. "

" How sir?"

" Look into a mirror."

" Oh please, I am not blushing."

" Ok, if you say so." He came very close to me and said in a whispering tone.

I turned to go to my room.

He held my hand and said,

" Wait, I think, It could be a prank as no one turned up. But you should be careful and I think, you can tell Shubh once you go back as he would get very tense. Everything seems to be under control. "

I just nodded and said, " Yes sir, you are right... and thanks a lot for everything. I was very scared last night. Thanks for helping me. "

" Don't mention, it was my pleasure. " He said that smiling and I turned immediately to go to my room as I knew that I would blush again because of what happened at night.

I got ready for the camp. We all worked for the whole day again. And in the evening around 5 PM, we closed. Everyone packed and wound up everything and we left for our hospital. We had to report to the hospital before going home.

I had sent a message to Shubh to pick me up.

He came in time to pick me up. I was so happy to see him after Two days that I just hugged him. He met Dr Rathore and thanked him for taking care of me. He does not even know what happened. He would really get angry. Shall I tell him??? No, since nothing happened, I think I will let it be.

It looked as if he was in deep thoughts.

" How was your camp?" He asked me.

" Hmm, It was very good, we were working continuously for 2 days. I am really tired. "

He nodded and smiled, " Mom and dad must have been back by now." He said.

" Oh wow!!! I was missing them and everyone at home. " I said thinking about them.

" It seems something is going on there. " He said and looked as if trying to understand something.

" What do you mean by that? "

" Mom said the next week is going to be very busy and your parents are also coming. "

There must be something. But what ??? My family was definitely up to something.

I had no option, but just to, Wait and watch.
