Demon Blood

Mark stared in utter horror at the screen of his television. In his line of work he’d seen many things, but nothing as vivid as that. Hanging up with Eva, he tried his best to process his thoughts.

Scary isn’t it?” A male voice called from the corner of the shadow.

Mark looked at him in confusion. “What the hell are you doing here? How the hell did you even get in?”

Alaric only smiled. He was on a mission, and he had one last thing to settle with the human. “I find myself here because I require your services detective.” He placed his hands to his lips. “I can’t believe I didn’t notice it before. My utter disdain for you goes so much further than your inability to keep your lips off Eva.” Mark jumped to his feet, but with one snap, Alaric sat him back down.

“Don’t move detective, that wouldn’t be wise.”

“How did you-“
Alaric shook his head, his face hardening. “Eva needs a favor from you.” Snapping his finger again, he brought Charles’ file to his hands. He threw it towards Mark. “You’re going to make this disappear. Bury it. I don’t care how but you’re going to use your connections to ensure that the man who jumped today will be cremated and is ashes will never be tracked. Do you understand?”

Mark remained silent for a moment before speaking. “What are you?”

The grin on Alaric’s face made him look sinister. “I could show you, but you’d never sleep again.” A lump formed in Mark’s throat. “The man who jumped from the building today wasn’t Charles, I killed him. The man today was what Lucifer and I made you see and while I hate to rely on your inability to cope with the things presented in front of you, I do know how you feel about Eva. Will you do this?” Mark slowly shook his head yes. Alaric smiled again. “Great and if it makes you feel any better, the man who died today is the serial killer you’ve been looking for, for the past five years. Good night detective.”

Mark blood ran cold as Alaric disappeared into the night. Absentmindedly, he picked up the phone and dialed the coroner. “Hey…I know it’s late but can you do me a favor?”

-----------------------------------------------------------

Eva paced back and forth in her home. She couldn’t understand what she just saw, but she knew that it wasn’t Charles. She placed her quivering fingers to her lips. Her eyes widening at the sight of Alaric.

“W-what did you do?”

“What you asked of me.” His response cold and distant.

“I didn’t ask for that.”

He stepped towards her. “Didn’t you? Why ask the service of the man you know has evil run through him, only to be terrified by the results.”

That was the problem, she wasn’t afraid, in fact, she felt the opposite. She might not have fully understood, but she felt nothing about it.

Does that make me evil?

She wasn’t sure but it also wasn’t something she could worry about now. Tugging at the bottom of her shirt, her eyes locked with Alaric. She could hardly look at him without getting turned on, her hunger in overdrive. Taking one more step away, she inhaled sharply.

“There’s something I need to tell you.”

He rolled his eyes. “I really don’t want to hear it Eva. Right now, I need you to grab my book and come with me.”

“Where are we going?”

“My sister wants to meet you.”

Eva tilted her head. “I didn’t know you had a sister.”

“Nobody does, and she prefers it that way.”

Nodding her head, Eva walked as Alaric followed her to her office to grab his book. After grabbing it, he took her hand and the two promptly disappeared. Eva stared around the enlarged castle, the light only from candles. Brimstone and burning embers sizzled outside the windows. She swallowed her spit.

“Where are we?”

“Hell” Alaric stifled his laugh as he watched her lips part in fear. He hated when she did that. It always made him want to take her lips. He grumbled under his breath. “Are you well?”

Eva tilted her head. “What?”

“Are you well? You look a little pale.” Eva rolled her eyes but remained silent. Alaric’s hard demeanor quickly returned. “This way.”

He pushed at the large doors, and Eva’s face immediately fell. A woman with long hair leaned against the desk with her eyes closed. Two other women in front of her, naked on their knees. She held both of their heads, causing them to swallow deep. Alaric cleared his throat, and she finally opened her eyes.

“Let’s pick this up later ladies, my brother and his wife are here.” She murmured. As the two women stood, Eva’s eyes widened at the two penises. Seeing her expression, the woman chuckled. “Don’t overthink it. I can have what I want, how many I want, at any given time. I enjoy the sexual fluidity though I prefer the pronouns she/her.” She clapped her hands and immediately dressed before placing her finger to her lip.“You know if Alaric wanted to change-“

He quickly interjected. “I rather enjoy what I have thank you.”

So do I

Eva’s face flushed and she quickly removed the thought from her head. Moving slightly away from Alaric so she could finally breathe, she turned to his sister. Lucifer bowed.

“Lucifer”

“Eva” Lucifer lips curled up into a smile. “Everybody knows who you are my dear.” For some reason that scared her. “I guess you’re wondering why I asked you here? Well simply put, I wanted to meet you and see Alaric’s book. We agreed after my help with your little ordeal.”

Eva turned to Alaric. “You used me for leverage?”

He smirked but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Did you not use me for my help?” Eva buttoned her lips, her irritation growing.

Lucifer chuckled. “Oh trouble in paradise?”

Rolling her eyes, Eva placed her hands on her hips. “No trouble outside of your brother being a egotistical asinine-“

“Whoa, Whoa.” Lucifer laughed uncontrollable, it increasing as she saw Alaric glare at Eva. “The wife has a mouth on her.”

Eva felt her skin prickle. “Stop calling me that. I’m not his fucking wife.”

A gleam found it’s way into Lucifer’s eyes. “Oh, so you’re still in denial too?”

“I’m not in denial.”

“Is that so?” Lucifer clapped her hands and one of the demon women stepped forward. The woman bit her lip and swayed her body towards Alaric. “So…if she was to blow my brother you wouldn’t care?” Immediately the demon dropped to her knees in front of Alaric. “She’s had a bit of a crush on him for a while, so trust that this is as pleasurable for her, as it will be for him Eva…”

Feeling the tug at his pants, Alaric face hardened. He didn’t want to be touched by her, but he also wanted Eva to be as pissed as he was. He closed his eyes, making this purposely dilate. Letting the demon unhook the button of his pants, she grasped as he grabbed her hair. Eva breath ragged, her entire body shaking, her hunger hitting an all-time high, her eyes bore into Alaric. He smirked, turning his attention back to the demon as she kissed the outside of his briefs.

Eva stared from one to the other. The heat permeating from her core, making her eyes redden. Alaric preoccupied missed the signs, but Lucifer bottom lip dropped.

“Wha-“

Her sentence fell short as the desk shook violently, flying her papers everywhere. Alaric eyes returned to normal and widened as he looked at Eva whose face was so twisted, she looked completely evil. Her eyes dilated and she snapped her fingers, causing the demon to fall. A scream pulled from her mouth as she stared at Alaric in horror as she slid backwards from him towards Eva. She grabbed her hair so aggressively, Lucifer saw chucks of it fall out.

A roar escaped Eva’s throat. “I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!” Fangs exposed, Eva tore in the demon’s neck. She drained her, pulling so aggressively, they could hear the bones of the demon’s neck snap. Eyes dilated, Eva dropped the body and inhaled deeply her hunger finally subdued. Alaric stared at her; her clothing soaked in blood as she licked her fingers.

He barked at her “EVA WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!”

This was the moment, She knew she should tell him, but she couldn’t form the words. “I-I” She backed away the realization of what she’d done causing extremely palpitations to her chest. She shook, taking a step away for every one Alaric took toward her. Snapping his fingers, he froze her locking her in place.

“Eva…” He growled angrily, but she refused to talk.

“I got this.’ Lucifer said bending down to pick up his book. She slammed it on the table. “You know, I may tease my brother, but one thing I truly hate is someone keeping things from him.” She closed the space between Eva and her. In a small voice, she whispered. “Move.” Like a zombie, Eva felt her body pull forward towards the desk. She picked up a pen and began to write, Lucifer slowly joined her side. Reading over Eva’s shoulder, Lucifer shouted to Alaric “GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!” He quickly moved across the floor and read from the other side. Slamming his hand down in anger, his eyes reddened as he stared at her.

Lip trembling, Eva didn’t want to look at the book, but her eyes pulled to it.

*There was a time she hid nothing, yet now that wasn’t true. Powers coursing through her body, not her own, but given by the life in her womb. Healed of being barren, Alaric stared at his betrothed a storm of emotions on his face. They were now tied to one another in more ways than one. The human who owned his book, the one he’d vowed to protect, held a secret that terrified her. She was carrying his heir. *

He could hardly speak, the terror in her eyes as she looked into his eyes, filled his rage. He heard her mutter. “30…29..28.” He snapped his fingers vanishing them from his sister’s home, before she could get to one.
