Weeping Willow

*Waylon and Willow*

"Perhaps you heard me wrong. You’re going to die tonight. You’re going to hit the cement and shatter everywhere and I HOPE and PRAY that you go straight to hell for what you did.” Willow spoke to Jermaine through clenched teeth as he once again stood on the ledge.

His lip quivered, "What’s wrong with you?! I HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING!” Eyes gleaming in anger, she turned her hardened face as she felt Waylon approach. "What,” she said deadly.

"Willow don't."

"Leave Waylon.”

"No.” She blew steam from her nose. "You don’t want your brother to kill himself.”

She grinned but it didn’t reach her eyes. "Oh, but I do.” She tilted her head, "You think you’ll see mom and dad before you rot in hell hm? You think you’ll have enough time to tell them you’re sorry.”

Jermaine's body froze. "What are you talking about?”

She moved in closer to him. "All this time…all this time, I HATED dad from keeping me from you. For putting you in that hospital even though you said you weren’t sick.” She laughed, "And I believed you! I was SO mean to him…and he let me. Never once said a word against me, no matter how much I bashed him because of your lies.”

Legs wobbling, Jermaine cried out to her, "I-I wasn’t lying Will. I wasn’t sick.”

She shook her head yes. "You were…you are. What else could explain why you would kill your own parents, Jermaine.”

Waylon’s mouth dropped at the revelation. Eyes widened; Jermaine breathed in deep, "That was an accident…I would never hurt them on purpose.”

"LIAR!” She jumped towards him, making him temporarily lose his balance. A sneer covered Willow’s face, "Dad locked you in that place because he KNEW! He knew you were a monster. They tried their hardest to protect me from you, and you stabbed our mother as payback.”

To Waylon’s surprise, Jermaine let out a cold laugh, "She didn’t even fight it. Just looked at me with those stupid FUCKING sad eyes.” He scoffed, "They weren’t even your real parents, and yet they always treated you better than me. *Willow this* *Willow that*…well, mama couldn’t talk about her precious Willow with a knife in her heart.”

Silence filled the air and Waylon heard her let out a piercing roar, "She never did anything to you, daddy never did anything to you, I NEVER DID ANYTHING TO YOU!”

"YOU WERE BORN!” He screamed back at her. "Why couldn’t you have just stayed at that foster home hm? Your own parents couldn’t even stand you enough to keep you, and yet I was forced to share mine with a waste of space.”

Waylon charged, and his body shot back as an invisible force field stopped him in his tracks. Willow turned and shook her head at him, "Not your fight Way.”

*You can’t stop it*

But he still needed to try, "Lolo…I’m telling you, this will NOT make you feel better.”

She seethed, "I HELPED HIM HIDE MY FATHERS BODY WAYLON!” Hot tears ran down her cheeks. Pointing her finger at Jermaine, she inhaled sharply, "You tell him. You tell him what you did.”

Jermaine rolled his eyes. 'Ugh, this is exactly why everyone despises you so much. YOU’RE SO FUCKING WEAK!”

Willow wiped her eyes, his words tearing into her heart, "I’m not weak…I’m not weak…” She repeated over and over, making Jermaine laugh harder.

"You’re weak and stupid. You HID A BODY to protect someone who tried to kill you in your sleep.”

"Wha-” Waylon started to say but was cut off immediately.

"Dad wasn’t meant to die…you were *Willow* but the nosey son of a bitch caught me in his precious little angel's room.” He faced Waylon, "You want me to tell him? Fine. Here’s a story for you, let me know how much you enjoy it. Once upon a time, there was a troubled boy who loved to kill things. He didn’t know why, but it gave him immense pleasure.” He closed his eyes and shuddered at the memory. "He killed his first person at the tender age of eleven when killing animals wasn’t enough. Swung a baseball bat cracking his best friend's skull and buried him under a pile of leaves.”

Jermaine jumped down from the ledge and walked slowly to Willow and she backed away. "Now this boy's father knew what he’d done. AND INSTEAD OF BEING THERE FOR HIS SON, he helped them lock him away. And he and the mother replaced the boy, with a red-headed-” He grabbed her hair and Waylon tried his hardest to tear into the force field. "You like to kill too, don’t you Waylon? I can see it all on your face. I can smell it in you…you’re just like me.”

Waylon glared at him hard. "I’m nothing like you.”

Rolling his eyes, Jermaine pushed Willow to the ground. Bending down he eyed her, "The boy was so mad, he reached out to his *sister* and spun all the tales that she needed to hear to make her believe he was a victim. With her help, he came home, and the moment he saw his mother, his rage unleashed and he picked up a knife and jammed it in her heart.” He grinned, "And he stuffed her body in a chest and put it under his sister's bed. She wanted a mother so badly, he made sure she had one forever.” Jermaine laughed wildly at the look of terror that lined Willow’s face. "Oh don’t worry dad eventually found her and well-” He stood. "Off with me again.” Pointing to cut across his wrist he sneered.

"You faked being sui-”

He nodded, "Back to the hospital for me. The problem was, she still had his father, who’d of course by now wanted nothing to do with him. So again, he pretends-” He spit on her, "He gave a shit about his sister…because you see, he needed her help to finish what he started. And BECAUSE SHE WAS SO WEAK she believed anything he said.” Jermaine mocked her, *I don’t know why I’m here Will…dad doesn’t believe it was an accident. *…..thank you for believing in me and helping me to get out.*

Willow sobbed and he shook his head, "Pathetic. Anyway, blah blah, I get out, I try to smother her, and dad caught me and yeah you know the rest.” He turned to Waylon, "Actually, you don’t know. See precious Willow here HELP ME BURY DAD UNDER THE HOUSE!” He jumped up and down and cackled, "Oh! That was my FAVORITE part! He saves her, and she helps his killer get away with murder! And all I had to do was stand on a ledge, and she believed me again!” Willow inhaled sharply and finally stood. Her eyes reddened and Jermaine's face fell. "What the-”

"I want to thank you Waylon,” she threw over her shoulder as her body slowly began to grow. Shaking in rage, she grabbed Jermaine hard by his neck. "The funniest thing happened after you passed your test….” Jermaine's eyes bulged from his head, and his face turned purple. "I took a shower and when I got back to my room, wouldn’t you know it, I found a letter next to my ring.”

"Leeett me gooo pleasee..” She shook her finger and squeezed her brother’s neck harder.

Closing her eyes, she shudders in enjoyment. "I love hearing you plead for your life. But it is rude to interrupt *precious brother*. You got to tell Waylon your story, so please allow me to tell him mine.” Waylon watched in horror as she drew closer and closer to the ledge. "I thought it was from you Way, but to my surprise, it was from my father.”

"What?” Whispered Waylon.

She shook her head yes. Covered in dirt, and stuff I knew was from under our house. Her words crackled as she cried, as she pulled out the note and began to read.

*"My dearest daughter…if I’m to turn up dead, please believe me when I say that it was your brother. I know you don’t want to believe he could do something like that, but PLEASE try your hardest. I need you to be safe… I need you to be careful. And most importantly I need you to know I love you and none of this is your fault. I should have killed him when I had the chance… I know that’s a horrible thing to say but it’s also true. I have carried this letter with me every day, knowing the day I die at his hands will come. But I'll suffer that, if it means that you're safe...and maybe I'll even be allowed to be with your mom again. Thank you for bringing so much light into your mother and my lives for the time we had you. My favorite Red, I love you always-Dad."*

"Willow, I promise I understand how that rage feels inside of you...but this isn’t you, it's me...and I know you'll regret it.”

She couldn’t hear Waylon anymore, her anger and pain completely taking over. Still holding Jermaine, she jumped up on the ledge. "I didn’t ask you to meet me here Jermaine for you to jump. I asked you here so you could answer a simple question for me.” She bore her rubied fangs and he choked out a guttural scream as she tore into his neck. His body began to line with ice starting at his feet. Seeing the force field disappear, Waylon raced to her. She grinned hard at her brother and before Waylon could reach her, she threw Jermaine off the ledge as hard as she could. Jermaine’s body flipped as it tore through the air, it landing shattering into icy pieces immediately upon impact.

Waylon pulled her in his arms, but she didn’t hold him back. He placed his head on hers and she finally spoke.

"I guess he can answer my question once he gets to hell if whether or not it’s really like flying.”

He pulled her away from him and her body shook in rage. Her face lined with pure evil and it was then Waylon realized why she’d been chosen for him. Because for everything good about her, Willow could be as evil as he could. She grabbed him and pulled him to her and kissed him hard against the mouth. Smiling, Willow leaned against his chest,

"Take me home, I’m tired.”

Her body no longer possessing Waylon’s powers, she let him pick her up. He froze as he saw his grandfather and Lucifer watching from the shadows. Silently, they nodded their heads at him. Lucifer put four fingers up, placing one of them down. She grinned and gave him a wink, and the two disappeared.
