.31. Kiss it better.
"The fuck are you doing here?" Zane spat through gritted teeth, looking at the man, casually sitting on the sofa. His hair neatly styled, as usual, the grin wider than ever before. Zane's eyes scanned the room; there was no trace of Camilla being around or even close.
Now, he thought that the young woman didn't come home after everything that happened. Where could she be?
"Absolutely the same thing as you are- trying to win over the woman of my dreams, isn't that obvious? It is a challenging task since you have the advantage of being her mate. Fortunately for me, you've been nothing but a fucking jerk towards her. Should I add the fact that you rejected her?" Aiden smiled, slowly standing up on his feet. The male stretched his arms, holding intense eye contact with Zane.
"Well, should I disappoint you now or wait a little bit? Fuck it, let me break the facts before she comes back home. I did reject her, yes, but I did take the rejection back as well. Now, the only way she could get rid of me is by trying to reject me, but mark my words, when I say that I will never accept it if she does. Camilla is mine, like it or not; I will not stop until she's in my bed, living under my roof, and carrying my pups. I don't mind competition, yet just like you just said- I have an advantage." Zane's facial expression didn't change; he seemed colder than ever.
Aiden, on the other hand, started at Zane as if he grew another head. The male didn't dare to assume that young Alpha would ever do such a thing. Zane was known for his explosive nature, but never did he change his mind after the male did something. He made severe decisions on a daily basis, always standing by ones he thought was the best. For a moment there Aiden hoped that he might have a real chance to be with Camilla. If only she would accept the rejection, instead of ignoring it, maybe then they could leave. Second chance mates were nearly extinct, so the young warrior hoped to find his happiness next to the Alphas rejected mate.
"And you think that you have a chance? After all you've done and said to her? You're stepping as low as using the mate bond against her! Do you want for her to live in misery just because you can't find the courage and take responsibility for your actions? Let me guess you found out that the Omega you hated so much turned out to be Blood Warrior? Got tired of all those mixed bitches you've been fucking and want to try out how the real deal tastes, right? If she ends up leaving this fucking place, I'm following in her footsteps; I'd be ashamed to live under the control of low life wolf." Maybe Zane didn't have enough of their argument, but Aiden did. The male rushed out of the house, passing Zane faster than any other road sign. He disappeared in the distance, leaving his new Alpha standing in the tiny living room.
Zane thought about what the warrior had said and shook his head. He didn't want to overthink; this was the moment when he would try to redeem himself. At one point, he was pacing around the living room, cursing himself for coming empty-handed. Maybe Camilla would take his presence in a more friendly way if Zane brought flowers.
He kept waiting; minutes turned into hours, and the young man decided to take a look around the place his mate called home. The house was tiny, two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a small living room. Her kitchen was a somewhat decent size, but Zane did recall that Camilla's mother loved to cook, that must be the reason.
He kept arguing with his wolf, unable to find the best way out of the situation. The young male didn't want to involve her privacy, trying his best to avoid her bedroom. His wolf had none of that; he wanted to see how comfortable their mate was there. For some reason, Zane's inner beat was sure that she lacked way too much space. He kept repeating that Camilla must have a small and uncomfortable bed, she most likely didn't own too much clothing and probably lacked simple everyday items.
Instead of inviting himself in, Zane rushed away from the house. He reached the mansion in minutes, running upstairs as if the house was on fire. The young male ran to his bedroom, grabbing the first bag he could find and rushed into the closet.
*"We have to get rid of at least half of this shit. When mate moves in, she will need more space than we do. We should buy her new clothes. Women love clothes, and I bet she does too. I think we should give Beta a house near ours for more privacy with our mate. We can get rid of his room and connect it to ours, more space for her shit. We will buy a lot of shit for her. Yes, the more shit, the better, let's make mate happy. She will be so excited. I am, she will be too. Fuck, how excited I am."* The wilf mumbled, loud enough for Zane to hear.
*"Can we talk about that after we find out would she even move in? We did some fucked up things in the past, and I'm sure she wouldn't give in so easily. Please, for this once, stay quiet and let me do what I have to do. We have no idea where is she and I want to reach her house before she gets there."* Zane blocked his wolf, focusing on the primary task. He shoved the bag full and ran back to Camilla's house.
The male was surprised, yet revealed to see that the house was as empty and lonely as he left it. The angel on his shoulder kept trying to talk Zane into staying on the porch and waiting for her to return. The Devil, on the other shoulder, pushed Zane to go full-on beast mode and hunt down his mate. He ignored both, entered the house and headed straight to her bedroom. Zane took a deep breath and opened the door.
The young Alphas jaw dropped, noticing how tiny, yet comfortable her room looked. Everything was tidy, neatly folded clothes and each little thing had its place. Zane felt a bit envious of her ability to keep everything clean. That definitely wasn't the same with him.
He had to shake his head to get rid of the simple, yet distracting thoughts. He threw the bag on Camilla's bed and opened the small closet. He was right; she didn't own much. The male scanned every piece of clothing and smiled; she wasn't over the top kind of woman, what actually pleased him.
Zane took a couple of empty hangers and started pulling hoodies out of his bag. One by one, he hang them up in her closet, making sure to mix them in her clothing. The young Alpha smirked, thinking about how she would smell like him soon, not to mention the arousing thought of Camilla, dressed in his clothing. There was something special about the idea.
Usually, women tried to borrow his hoodies, but he wouldn't allow them to. When it came to Camilla, he was giving those away freely, hoping that the young woman would accept his gesture.
"Umm, what are you doing in my bedroom?" The sweet voice spoke from behind him. Zane was too caught up in his actions; the male didn't notice how she returned home.
He turned around to face her and smiled. Despite her hectic looks, Camilla still remained as the most beautiful woman in his eyes. The same as before he found out that she was fated to him. As much as he tried to hate her, almost always Zane failed. There was something special about Omega, something appealing enough for him to get stuck on her.
"Well, first of all, I had to find out where my mate was. Since you weren't here when I arrived, I decided to wait. Your lover boy left, don't think he's too fond of me claiming what is mine. Aside from that, I figured that you might be pretty short on things to wear, so I decided to share." Zane stepped closer to Camilla. This time she didn't move a muscle, making the Alpha grin. He loved how challenging she became, standing her ground without any trace of fear in her eyes.
"You can go now. I'm home, safe and sound. There is no reason for you to worry or stay around." Camilla's voice was cold and demanding. As his Luna, she would be able able to control Zane, if needed. Since she wasn't marked, yet, she couldn't tell the Alpha what to do.
"And what if I don't want to go?" Zane stepped incredibly close to the young woman. The playful spark in his eyes calmed Camilla down; she knew he wouldn't hurt her. Not now.
"Maybe I could help with that, Alpha." Camilla grinned and stepped on his foot with all her might. The more Zanes face twisted in pain, the wider Camillas grin grew. She was more than happy to show him where exactly his place was, especially in her life.
"Nice move, little mate, but it won't help. It does hurt, though, won't you apologise?" Zane pushed Camilla against the nearest wall, placing his hands next to her head, caging her in. He leaned to the crook her neck, precisely where his mark would be, and inhaled her scent. Even though Camilla was his mate, the Alpha wolf in him wasn't happy about her doings. He wanted to break free and punish her, but Zane wouldn't allow him.
Camilla closed her eyes and bit onto her lip, doing anything to keep the moan from escaping her lips. She nearly lost herself in the ecstasy of closeness with her mate, but his word kept echoing in her mind.
"The only person I should apologise to is myself, for all those times I let you bully and hurt me," Camilla spoke up with such confidence and power in her voice, Zane instantly rose his head to look into her eyes. The emotions we're indescribable, a mix of everything and nothing.
He knew that Camilla had been through a lot; unfortunately, on many occasions, it was his fault. Of course, despite his pride, Zane felt guilty. But he wouldn't admit that easily. Sometimes, the young male thought that it was better to act than speak. His friends used to whine about women always trying to talk things out. It was necessary, of course, but Zane had a feeling that talking wouldn't fix the issue he and his mate had. It was time for resolving problems rather than trying to go the easy way. Actions always spoke louder than words.
"I know, and I apologise. I'm not the one to go around and admit all mistakes I've made, just think of it. I am an Alpha, Camilla. How would my people, your people, look at me if I was sorry ass weakling? How serious other Alphas would look my way if they knew that I tiptoed around any member of my pack? You are my mate; I wronged you, and I'm determined to fix everything I did. I can't turn back time by some miracle and warn myself about the future. There are things I can not do, as much as I want to! Just trust me this once, I'm trying. Let's keep our issues, arguments, and disagreements behind a closed door. The bedroom door, preferably. Jokes aside, I want to keep my private life as it's supposed to be- private. Everyone will know that you are my mate; you will bear my mark and lead the pack alongside with me. But as much as I want it to happen faster, it can't if you won't give me a chance to redeem my wrongdoings. I can try to kiss it better if that helps." Being serious around Camilla was more challenging than it seemed to be. Whenever the young woman was around Zane, all he wanted to do was to tease and play with her. She was precious, especially whenever her cheeks burned in bright red. Or at moments, when Camilla stood with her jaw hanging low in shock, just like now.
Zane left her speeches, Camilla opened and closed her mouth without a sound leaving it. She wanted to come up with a fantastic comeback, but his words made her overthink more of things he did in the past.
"You can't kiss better the things you did in the past. Let's say I bumped into any furniture and hurt my arm- you could kiss it better, but you can not do that to emotions! That's a ridiculous idea. You're pretty stupid for an Alpha." Camilla knew that she was too rough on him, but at this point, she didn't care. Zane had to get a little piece of her mind; maybe then he will listen.
Instead of saying anything, Zane grinned, leaned closer and bit onto her lower lip.
"Ouch, what was that for? Why did you do that? Psycho!" Camilla snarled, placing a palm over her mouth. If she didn't know better, she would freak out over the possibility of Zane biting her lip rough enough for it to bleed.
Zane grabbed her hand and pulled it away from her mouth, grinning like a maniac. He leaned closer and whispered: "So I can kiss it better."
