Chapter 13- A Good Run
For the first time in weeks, I did not dream. I slept soundly only waking when I heard a voice.
**Hello Gracie. **
Hello Lilliana. Am I awake or sleeping?
**You are awake. I told you, you will never be alone. I am here with you. **
So, you are a part of me, almost like a conscious?
**Yes. But even more so.**
What does all this mean Lilliana. I am so worried.
**Gracie, you were created for this exact journey. This purpose was made for you. The Moon Goddess did not send you ill prepared. As you become more comfortable in this world you will discover all the things you can do. But first we are going to go for a run. Wake up Clay and tell him. I have been waiting so long to run. **
You mean I will shift into you? But what if I mess it up?
**Gracie I will be with you. Just let me have control when the time is right**.
I nodded my head and then opened my eyes. I looked at Clay. He looked so cozy in bed. He was so handsome and his muscles were calling out for me to touch them.
My hand found their way right to his chest and rubbed over the ridges.
“Gracie, if you continue we will start all over.” I giggled and then thought about what Lilliana said.
“I have my wolf.” I said. Clay’s eyes shot open and he sat up.
“What?” He looked shocked. Then he sniffed the air. “I smell you more now. Still the roses and vanilla but with a wolf scent.”
“I can smell you more too.” I sniffed him. “You smell like dark chocolate and cinnamon. Also, she wants to run.”
He perked his eyebrows up, “Run huh? Are you ready for that?”
“Well, this day couldn’t be any weirder, might as well top it off with something equally interesting.” I answered. In truth I was pretty excited. Now that I had met my wolf and heard her I wanted to see what it was like.
“Gracie, just know that the first few times are kind of painful but afterwards it becomes second nature.” I remembered how easily him and Rose had changed. I felt confident in what he said. I nodded while I threw some clothes at him.
“Grace. We don’t need clothes.” I turned red again. I couldn’t just walked around the house naked! Clay laughed. “Grace no one will see you naked. I have a back door.” I look to where his finger is pointing. There is a beautiful door, I thought it was just a huge window. I walk up to it and realize that it overlooks the garden.
“Oh wow. This is now my favorite place.” I step outside, feeling the wind in my hair. I can hardly believe what has happened today. And besides the whole dark witch magic thing, this day is spectacular. The sun is setting and creating a beautiful pink and orange hue in the sky.
Clay walks up behind me and puts his arms around me. He nuzzles his face into my neck. I feel like I am currently in heaven.
“Are you ready Grace?” I nod.
Alright Lilliana, this is all you. Almost as soon as I said it, I felt myself begin to change. Clay was not kidding when he said it was painful. I could hear my bones breaking into their new form. I was pushed back in my mind to allow Lilliana to take over. I felt myself on all fours. I felt my paws dig into the earth under me. It felt so good. I felt like I was one with the nature around me.
Wow. I heard Clays voice in my head. I saw his wolf form, Alex, just staring at me. I felt as if It was still human Clay his mouth would be dropped at the moment.
You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Clay said to me. Still staring. I knew I couldn’t blush as a wolf but if I could, I would be a tomato for sure.
*Thank you.* I replied. *How can I speak to you?*
*You are in wolf form and can speak to all wolf shifters this way. Also, we are mated. We will be able to mind link at anytime now.*
Wow. I couldn’t believe it. This all was so very neat. I suddenly wanted to explore and stretch my legs testing what Lilliana could do.
*Think you can catch me?* I teased and took off running. I ran through the forest. The wind guiding me around the trees and pathways. I could hear Alex right on my tail. He was close.
*You… are… fast…* Clay stated in between breaths.
*Am I?* I questioned.
*Yes. You are. One of the fastest wolves I have ever seen*.
**It is one of our powers from the Moon Goddess. **Lilliana explained to me.
*Apparently, it is a special power I have*. I told Clay you huffed and laid on the ground.
Oh, come on just a bit further. He could sense my enthusiasm and got up surprising me as he took off. I decided to follow him this time letting him set the pace.
Suddenly the place looked familiar. I felt the wind and the trees around me. I looked around feeling like I had been here many times.
*There is a cabin up ahead.* Clay said.
I stopped in my tracks taking in the sights around me. *A cabin?*
*Yes. It is an old cabin. We can hang out there a little bit. It is like my oasis. I go there many times when I just want to get away and don’t want anyone to find me.*
Feel Safe. I thought to myself. This was my dream. Or at least the location of my dream. We ran for a bit and ended up at the cabin. It looked like any little old cabin you would see at a campsite or such. As we came closer Clay shifted back in front of me. I thought about how I wanted to shift back like he did and suddenly my body began to do just that.
“Wow that shift back wasn’t so bad.” I said more to myself than anyone.
**Yes. Thank you for the run.**
You are welcome Lilliana. Rest because we will have to run back.
It was getting darker and the sun was still beautiful in the sky. I knew it would be dinner soon. And even though I knew I needed the rest I had today, I was too wired to think about sleep. I walked up to the cabin trailing behind Clay.
“Welcome.” Clay said in a voice that let me know his plans for once we were inside. I stepped onto the first step. Suddenly, I was transported to my dream.
