Chapter 31- Witches for Slaves

“Here is the thing.” Dorian’s smile went a bit freaky, “I like witches. I love witches. I own many witches. Dark, or good.”

“Dorian, you do not want us to defeat the dark witches?” It finally was all coming together. He was not on our side at all. He wanted the witches all to himself. I also realized at that moment that he hadn’t smelled our wolf friends but Izzy.

“It finally clicks!” Dorian again stuck me in the gut with a knife, “We were doing just fine in our own little world. We were left alone and taking witches for ourselves to do as we pleased. Some in our beds, some as our slaves in making our dreams come true. If you go and kill them all what will I have? I will have nothing!” Dorian screamed at me. His spit bouncing off my face as he screamed and hollered in my face.

“King Dorian, do you not care about the rest of the supernatural world?” He punched me once more. I realized I really needed to stop speaking.

“I want to be left alone. And your pretty little wolf, what a shame it will be to have her die. But I can not let her go on with this little plan, you understand right?” I fought against my chains at the sound of Gracie dying.

“You can not kill her!” I screamed once more.

“I do not plan to. You are going to.” This I fully did not understand, until I remembered how we all got in and used the hypnosis on them. He was going to do the same to me and have me kill Gracie. There was no way I could do that.

I immediately mind linked her.

“Gracie, Gracie, love.” I called out to her. I did not hear a response and this had me even more worried about her well being.

“Clay! Your alive!” I could tell from even her mind linked voice that it was wavering as if she had believed me dead.

“Yes listen.”

“Oh Clay, I am so glad you are alive! Where are you? I am with Izzy and the group. They saw some terrible things. I do not think the king is on our side at all.” Gracie kept going on and on and while the information would have been useful, I really needed her to stop.

“Gracie, I know. Listen. They are going to use their witches to make me fight you in the gladiator tournament. You are going to have to kill me.”

“Oh no I am not. We will come up with a plan.” Gracie had a voice that was so determined I would of hated to be against her.

“Okay love. Just be ready. If you do not you are going to have to go on without me. I love you Gracie.” I finished the mind link before Dorian would notice what I was doing.

“This here is Isabel, she is my favorite witch.” I did a double take at the girl I was looking at. She happened to look exactly like Izzy.

“Isabel?” I questioned. I looked at her again. She looked like she had been through hell. Her face was black and blue with purple dots mixed in. She had handprints on her arms from being pulled. This girl looked like a shell of who she was before.

“Yes, I got her from the crib.” Dorian said proudly. Every moment I was a bit more nauseous from what he shared. I wanted to save the whole supernatural world and I wanted to kill this king.

“You are a monster.” I spit at him. He looked amused and crouched down so that he could look me straight in the eye and answered, “Why yes. Yes I am.” He laughed as he walked out the door. I heard his footprints down the hall. Isabel put her hands to my head.

“I am sorry.” She whispered. I knew she wasn’t completely on the side of the king. I had hope. I had a chance.

“Isabel, what if you do not cast the spell?”

“He would kill me!” She almost screamed it, but her voice was so weak it came out as barely a whisper.

“He is going to kill all of us, unless we work together and kill him.” Isabel’s eyes grew three sizes.

“You think we could really do that?” she asked is disbelief.

“Listen, my mate is here with some wolves and another witch.” I saw her face cringe and added, “a good witch.” Her face immediately softened.

“We can fake that you placed the spell on me and then we could just end up all fighting together against the dragon. Do you think you could get some other witches on our side?” If we could stage a coo, it would be best. She nodded as I saw her brain begin to turn in thinking.

“The dragons are very strong. However, Dorian does not allow them to shift very much and most hate him. If they find out what you are doing, they might join in as well.” This gave me even more confidence. I refrained from telling Gracie only because I wanted the beginning of our fight to look authentic. Together, Isabel and I planned our battle strategy, later when we found Izzy we would need more of her story told.

Gracie POV

“He just cut out. I do not understand. They must have already turned him.” I knew I was speaking in hysterics, but this was my Clay. I needed him.
“Gracie, I am sure he did it for your safety.” Rose put a side arm around me and held me in an embrace.

I had watched as the king flung Clay to the ground. He laid so still I figured he was killed. However, my heart had still felt whole which was the only thing that gave me hope. They had dragged me into this room and locked me inside.

The room looked like it came straight out of a medieval history book. It was dark with stone walls and only one candle by the bed. The group had snuck in behind one of the guards as he brought me some food. I was pretty sure it was poison since it did not smell right.

“Gracie, I need you to tell me everything Clay said to you.” Izzy was looking at me so serious.

“He said, they were going to place him in a hypnosis to fight me in the tournament. He said the king does not want our help.” I relayed what I could remember. Clay had spoke fast which meant he was in trouble, and I had not heard from him since even though I tried to call out to him.

“Ok, from our trek around the castle there are certainly some sick things going on around here. For one, they have tons of women slaves. Slaves in each room and cleaning, cooking, everything. It looks as if Dorian has his own little collection of witches.” Izzy said with disgust. It hit me at that moment that it was her he smelled in the room earlier. It wasn’t the other wolves but her.

“Izzy, you need to be careful. He can smell you.” Izzy looked at me with a side eye. “I read about this in the book. He must be a witch hunter. He hunts them but instead of killing them he makes them into his slaves.”

“Alright, well now that we confirmed my suspicions, lets make a plan.” Izzy shook off what I said with a confidence in her abilities I wish I had.

“Tomorrow, you are going to fight Clay. You obviously can not kill him. So, instead just fight him.” Izzy threw up her hands and looked over at Ian.

“Think of it as a sparing match. Fight until we can reach you all.” I nodded my agreement at this plan. “Also, Clay might be under hypnosis but love is stronger. It might not even work, so be ready for that as well.”

“If that is the case, we need to take out Dorian.” I said firmly. Everyone in the room shook their heads in agreement. Good, now we had a plan.
