Chapter 11
Alessia rolled her eyes. Anyone who knew her story will really conclude that her stubbornness caused her death. “One more thing,..” The Timekeeper suddenly said and she raised a brow, anticipating his next words. “You can only get into her body when she's asleep and when she's with your face. Her memories will be wiped out each time she's conscious and she won't remember the things you did with her body.” he said and she scoffed.
“She two have faces?” she scrunched up her brows and he shrugged, saying nothing in response. “Ever wondered why you're to look for your soulmate?” He suddenly digressed and slowly, she shook her head sideways. “Because he's the only one that loves you truly” he said and she chuckled. “Is that even possible? I mean, my parents…” she paused. “Okay, I realized my dad is late, what about my mother? My supposed fiance too” she asked and he only smirked. “Like I said, unravel secrets in your journey,” he responded. “But why couldn't dad find his own soulmate and return to life?” she asked. “Not everyone is given the same task to complete and besides, some people aren't fated to have a second chance,” he said. “Like you” she replied and he only breathed.
“I’ll be reborn after my seven years journey as a Timekeeper” her eyes widened at his words. “As a newborn infant?” he nodded and her eyes widened more, a part of her found it funny so she made a soft chuckle. “But isn't that—”. “You talk too much,” he said, interrupting. She rolled her eyes and that way, her eyes landed on what she was cladded in. “But … wait” she turned back to him. “Don't I get to change my clothes? I mean, I've been wearing this for days now” she said and he smirked. “Not like you can even take it off” he said and her eyes widened, she tried touching her clothes but she really couldn't feel anything and then it dawned on her that the only thing she could touch was the cellphone he had given her. She raised her head, intending to grumble a complaint but before she could even talk, he was already gone. She sighed, stretching out and watching the duo on the bed.
She looked around the room and sat on the stool, intending to rest her head on the bed's edge but her head only kept going down, leaning in nothing and she sighed in frustration. She stood up and sat on the bare floor, hugging her legs to herself and burying her head between them. Alot flooded her mind and she couldn't help pondering on how she could accomplish her aim.
How could I even identify my soulmate? What am I supposed to do to get in contact with him or her? Questions haunted her, and she could only have them on her mind but without an answer. She raised her head to stare at the duo on the bed and she sighed..

VIRGINIA… AN UNDERGROUND ALLEY
“Don't skip a step, you could fall” Ellen, Alessia's mother said to her younger son as they both descended a very long stair. “We've been doing this for a while now, my leg aches” Tyler complained, stopping in his tracks and for the second time in minutes, the walls cracked and stones fell.
It was an underground alley that has existed for more than hundred years, making it so dusty and dirty. Everywhere was so dark due to the current time and so they only saw things with the torch lights in their hands. “We need to leave here with our property, else this place will be destroyed completely!” she scolded and the 19-year old only sighed, taking another step further as Ellen did. Her phone suddenly rang and they took a pause, she raised a brow, landing her gaze on her son. She swiped green after much hesitation and slowly raised the phone to her ears.
“What's keeping you waiting? We agreed on 10PM, it's midnight now!” a masculine voice said from the other end and she sighed. “Stop being authoritative, it's my deal, remember!” she yelled back, ending the call immediately. “Annoying trash!” she cursed and with that, she brushed her hair backwards. “Let's move” she said to Tyler and they resumed their descent. “You shouldn't have kept it here in the first place” Tyler groaned after a few more minutes and she sighed.
“It's not something to keep carelessly, it's worth is more precious than the whole world!” she said and he only rolled his eyes. Her phone rang again and this time, she almost swiped red, assuming it was the man who had called but the caller's ID made her stop. Without hesitation, she swiped green, scrunching up her brows in curiosity as she anticipated the caller's words. “What's the update?" She asked quickly. “The wedding took place” the caller said and her eyes widened.. “When she's dead?” “We didn't get to see the face of the bride, we weren't let into the reception until after the wedding ended. And when we got the opportunity to, we lost it" the caller said and she scoffed “So?" “We're still on it but we found out that her body got dumped into the river by some men her fiance was in partnership with” the caller said and she maintained a blank expression. “And?” she asked simply .
“A fisherman got her body while fishing, she's presently in his custody” he said further and her expression changed a bit. “Alessia is alive?” her eyes furrowed on their own. “I don't think so, presently, she's in coma and isn't even given any medical care so she doesn't seem to return to life anytime soon. Probably, she'll die after a few days” the caller said and she sighed. “Fine, continue your job” she said, ending the call.
“Mum?” Tyler suddenly said, stopping her from taking a step further. “Huh?” she voiced. “Don't you think we should go get her body and keep it in custody before anyone finds it” He said and her brows raised on their own, finding his words wise. “We need to get the information of the fisherman then”.
They continued their journey, taking careful strides and then, after about thirty minutes, they finally got to the last stair. “Where's it” Tyler raised a brow, scanning his eyes around the empty alley. “We need to dig, it's under the sand, probably three feet” she said and he gasped. “Mum!” “What?, Listen I'm doing all this for you and not anyone else, stop trying to discourage me” she warned seriously and the poor boy only nodded. “Grab a shovel” she said, pointing towards a particular direction where some tools were laid aimlessly and hesitantly, Tyler moved towards the direction, picking up two shovels and returning to her. “Which spot?” he asked and she sighed, touching her forehead. “I'm not sure. I guess we'll have to dig everywhere” she said and his eyes flew terribly wide and then he exclaimed.
“What?!!”
