Chapter 84 Leonardo: Your Eyes Remind Me of My Wife

Elena Garcia's POV:

When I came face to face with this weird guy, his grip made me feel like I was ensnared by a venomous serpent.

The feeling of those cold scales sliding over me was unbearable. Seeing his face, I couldn't help but think of a snake's head with an open mouth and fangs ready to strike.

"Caesar, hey, long time no see!" Albert noticed my wrist being held. He acted all friendly, trying to hug Caesar to get him to let go of me.

But Caesar stopped him with his other hand. "Nah, I'm not into hugging dudes. If your date wants a hug, though, I'm game."

Caesar looked at me and whistled.

I tried hard to yank my wrist free, but it was no use. I was sure I'd have a bruise. I shot a pleading look at Albert, hoping he'd step up.

Albert said, "This is my sister, Elena. It's her first time at a party like this. Cut her some slack, Caesar."

Caesar wasn't buying it. "She hasn't done anything to me, so why would she need my forgiveness?"

Albert tried again, "Maybe you could loosen your grip a bit? She looks uncomfortable."

Caesar still wouldn't let go, acting like he didn't hear a thing.

It was said that a smile could be faked, but the "smile" in the eyes couldn't.

But Caesar's sunglasses covered half his face, making it impossible to see his eyes.

I figured I had walked into some kind of power play. Albert worked for Marco, which made Caesar target him, and I got caught in the middle.

Caesar's next words confirmed my suspicion. His focus wasn't really on me or Albert.

"Where's my brother? I can't wait to see him." Caesar looked around, searching for Marco. "Did he leave his poor subordinate here? If I were him, I wouldn't do that. What if something happened to you?"

That was a threat. I could feel Albert's tension and alertness.

Albert replied nervously, "Marco is probably with Francesco right now. Francesco has been prepping for this charity gala for ages."

Caesar said with a fake smile, "So, what I did here might have stirred up some excitement about this gala."

While they were talking, Albert grabbed one of my wrists, while my other wrist was still in Caesar's grip. Both my wrists were now tightly held. I really hated this feeling.

I couldn't take it anymore and spoke up, "Could you please let go?"

We were standing at the hotel entrance, drawing quite a crowd.

After I spoke, Caesar seemed to finally notice me. "Sorry, um... what's your name again?"

"Elena Garcia. Sir, you're hurting me." I frowned, unable to keep a smile on my face.

Caesar was dangerous and dismissive. If Albert's gentle approach couldn't stop him, there was no way my smile would make this jerk let go.

I had no choice but to forcefully pry his hand open. It was rude, but I had no other option.

My wrist was indeed red and swollen. If he kept squeezing, I even suspected my wrist might break.

Caesar said teasingly, "Wow, your sister has quite a temper."

I glared at Caesar, but he showed no restraint.

"Caesar, what are you doing here? Everyone's waiting for you!" A man with round glasses ran out from inside the hotel. He looked at Caesar and the scene at the entrance, letting out a scream. "Oh my God! What have you done? Francesco will definitely be angry! Where's Giulia?"

Caesar rolled his eyes. "She was too noisy, so I left her on the way."

After Caesar spoke, I could clearly see the man's displeased expression, but he didn't dare to scold Caesar. He just gently reminded him that he couldn't treat his date like that, especially since she was his fiancée.

The man offered, "You need your date, Caesar. You can tell me where Giulia got off, and I'll go get her."

"Peter, why bother? I can just find one right here." Caesar took off his sunglasses and put them in his chest pocket.

I was surprised to see that his eyes were different colors, one brown and one golden.

Peter quickly explained, "No, Caesar, that's not what I meant..."

But Caesar ignored him and scanned the surroundings, then his gaze fell on me, and he gave a malicious smile. "Isn't there one right here? Albert, I hope you don't mind if your date is with me today."

Caesar suddenly pulled me into his arms.

"Let go of me, you... let go of your hand!" I whispered angrily, trying to break free, but it wasn't easy. I wanted to curse him but I didn't dare.

Caesar grabbed my face with his other hand, looking down at me with a cold expression. "Behave, I don't want to leave any marks on your pretty face."

Albert frowned deeply. He tried to pull me back, but Caesar dodged his attempt.

Albert called out anxiously, "Caesar, you can't do this!"

Caesar raised an eyebrow, his tone dripping with menace. "What can't I do? Are you going to tell me what to do, Albert?"

Albert tried to reason, "This isn't good for family unity!"

Caesar shrugged. "Don't be so serious. Trust me, I won't do anything to her."

I could feel Caesar's arm moving to my waist, and he even dared to pat my butt.

Anger made my face flush, but Albert signaled for me not to argue with him. So I had to swallow my anger.

Caesar said frivolously, "Good girl, honestly, you're much more pleasant than my fiancée. Albert, is your sister engaged? Maybe she would be more suitable for me than Giulia."

Caesar held my waist as he invited the other two to the banquet inside the hotel.

I noticed Albert gritting his teeth, whispering something to Peter, who immediately left with a serious expression.

Albert then said to Caesar, "Elena already has a boyfriend. I think she has her own considerations."

Caesar said in a flippant tone, "That's too bad, but it doesn't matter. I just remembered the Garcia family doesn't have Italian blood, so maybe your sister will break up soon. When she does, maybe she can consider being my mistress."

This felt like a malicious insult, with Caesar's jerkiness on full display.

"If she's good in bed, maybe after I inherit the Bianchi family and kill Marco, I can let you live for her sake." Caesar laughed loudly.

I glared at this hateful guy, unable to hold back my anger. "I don't think I'll break up with my boyfriend, nor will I become anyone's mistress. I don't think you need a date. I don't see any respect for your date from you."

As we entered the banquet hall, I couldn't stand this guy anymore and shouted, "Take your hand off! Your words are as revolting as a drunkard's vomit!"

I grabbed Caesar's hand on my waist, trying to shake him off.

Caesar looked surprised, but then he seemed offended, grabbing my chin tightly with one hand and my neck with the other.

The feeling of suffocation made it hard to breathe.

I heard Albert shouting, "Elena! Caesar, let her go!"

As Albert rushed over, some guys suddenly appeared and stopped him. I guessed they were Caesar's men.

I vaguely saw someone take the opportunity to punch Albert.

Caesar looked at me with impatience. He whispered in my ear, "Hey, bitch, I've shown you enough respect! Don't push your luck. I'm the heir of the Bianchi family. Do you want to anger me and let your boyfriend and brother watch you get gang-raped?"

I couldn't speak, only glaring at this shameless man with anger. He didn't need my provocation. Seeing Albert, who didn't belong to his faction, was enough to ignite his anger!

I just hoped Marco would show up soon to stop Caesar's madness.

"Caesar, let go of her." Suddenly, someone intervened, but it wasn't Marco's voice.

After he spoke, Caesar immediately let go, and I coughed awkwardly.

He was a mature-looking middle-aged man with a sexy beard on his chin, a melancholic gaze, and an air of decadence. But when he spoke, he exuded a sense of power.

Seeing him, Caesar immediately raised his hands in surrender. "Wow, I didn't expect you to arrive so early, Leonardo."

Leonardo uttered, "It's not early now. According to Francesco's notice, we should have arrived here earlier. You've kept everyone waiting too long."

Leonardo just stood there, and that alone was enough to keep Caesar from saying anything more.

Leonardo continued, "Not keeping to the agreed time will make family members think you're untrustworthy. I really hope they strip you of your inheritance rights."

"Leonardo, don't joke like that." Caesar pretended to be innocent. "I just ran into Marco's subordinate on the way and chatted with him for a while."

Caesar patted Albert, who was being held by his men. "Next time you see me, you'd better run faster, you lackey."

After doing all this, he and his men quickly left us, satisfied.

"Albert!" I hurried to check Albert's injuries.

Albert said, "I'm fine, just got punched in the stomach. I'll be okay after a rest."

I pressed his side a few times. Thank God, he didn't seem to have broken any ribs.

As I was checking, someone approached us. I noticed Albert's vigilance, and when I looked up, I saw Leonardo, who had saved us.

Leonardo looked at me with his melancholic eyes, very gentle and kind. He took off his suit jacket and draped it over me. "Your shawl is torn. I think you need this."

I looked at him gratefully. "Thank you."

He was very gentle. After helping me support Albert, he led us to a resting room and called for a doctor.

Albert and I were a bit at a loss. In my nervousness, I also felt a bit relieved. At least Leonardo seemed harmless for now.

While the doctor gave Albert a more professional examination, Leonardo took my hand and kissed the back of it. "Are you Albert's sister? Your eyes remind me of my wife."
