Chapter 21

Vira was also surprised to see Kamila. Both of them looked at each other. Kamila had many questions. Realizing her purpose in coming to Miranda's house, Kamila asked Vira.

"Where is Aunt Miranda? I need to talk to her."
"Mama's not home. Go back to your house!" Vira said it sternly.
"You're lying! Auntie must be inside. Auntie, come out; we're not done yet!" Kamila shouted.
"I told you, Mama's not there!" Vira pushed Kamila's shoulder.

Kamila almost fell down. However, she did not want to give up so easily. Kamila forced her way in, even though she had to fight Vira. Finally, Vira lost, and Kamila was busy looking for Miranda.

“Aunt! Dont hide!"

Miranda came down the stairs from the second floor. Hands clasped together, she stared at her niece, who was near the sofa. "What are you looking for me for?"

Kamila tried to hold back her anger. "Don't pretend you don't know! Why did you tell Dad about my marriage? Didn't we promise to hide it? Are you not satisfied that you have destroyed my family's life? What more do you want?"

Kamila said everything in her heart. The pain caused by the actions of Kamila's biological mother's twin sister.

Miranda chuckled. "You know that Vira is back. I, of course, want the real Vira to be Gerald's wife. I told you all about your husband. Gerald is a handsome, rich, sober, and healthy man. Of course Vira won't refuse to be Gerald's wife!"

Miranda walked over to Kamila. Kamila had tears in her eyes. Vira also stood beside Miranda. There was a smile on her face.

"I told your father to separate you and Gerald. Your family must not agree with the marriage. Whether you can or not, you should still divorce Gerald because the real bride is back, Vira. Vira is more deserving than you."

Miranda's explanation surprised Kamila. How is it possible to divorce Gerald? It's not that Kamila doesn't want to, but Kamila is sure it won't be easy.

"I used to be just a surrogate bride. After Vira came back, you got rid of me. I can't possibly separate from Gerald!" Kamila shouted.
"Why not? Are you already pregnant with Gerald's child? Do you love him? Or do you not want to lose the wealth that Gerald has?" asked Miranda.

"No, I don't. How can I tell them that I'm not Vira? You know that the Arven family is very dangerous." Kamila was confused. She didn't know why things were so complicated.

"That's your business! Vira must belong to Gerald, and you must realize yourself! You are not the real Vira." Miranda didn't want to know; no matter what happened, Vira had to be with Gerald.

"You don't know anything about Gerald! I approached him first. We love each other." Vira said.
"If you really loved Gerald, why did you get pregnant with another man? Where is your child? Where have you been all this time? Why did you come back again?" The questions that Kamila had been thinking about.

Miranda grabbed Kamila's hair until Kamila was in pain. "You have no right to ask that. Get a divorce from Gerald. Get out of that house. If you don't, it'll be your family!"

"No, Aunt. Please."

The hatred for Miranda grew. It was always the family that was a threat. Kamila cried, and she was kicked out of Miranda's house.

"You're evil! There will be a reckoning for you someday!" Kamila shouted.

Miranda and Vira laughed. They were not afraid.

Kamila walked listlessly. The two bodyguards looked surprised at Kamila's appearance and face.

"Madam. Did something happen? We also heard a commotion inside."

Kamila shook her head. "I'm fine. Forget what you heard. You don't need to worry. I'll talk to Gerald directly. So, there's no need to be afraid."

The two bodyguards bowed. Kamila returned home. When she arrived, Kamila looked confused. How do I ask for a divorce from Gerald? Arven's family would be surprised by her sudden decision. Not to mention if they got angry and ended up asking for the wedding money back or, worse, if Kamila died at their hands.

"Why are you daydreaming so much? Is there a problem?"
Kamila caught a glimpse of Gerald. Since returning home, she has avoided eye contact with Gerald. "It's okay. I'm just not feeling well." Kamila lied.

Gerald gently rubbed her head. "That's all right. You'd better get some rest."

Kamila smiled. She lay down and pulled the blanket up to her neck. How could Kamila sleep? Her heart and mind were in turmoil. Remembering Gerald's gentle demeanor, anger could come at any time. Easily changeable. Kamila couldn't just say divorce.

A message arrived on Kamila's cell phone. Miranda, who threatened that if she did not divorce Gerald immediately, Miranda would destroy her family. Kamila knew that Miranda's threats were not just words. Kamila was frightened, anxious, and indecisive.

"Gerald, can I accompany Alvero to play? He often plays alone." Kamila asked.

Gerald gave permission. Kamila smiled. Actually, Kamila used Alvero as an excuse. Her goal was to be able to call her family without Gerald knowing. Kamila looked for a safe place. She thought it was at the back of the house. Close to the warehouse.

Kamila is called Reynaldi. I told him what happened. "I was forced to divorce Gerald. I don't know how to say it. Otherwise, Aunt Miranda will destroy our family."

"Just tell everyone that this is their doing. You were forced. You shouldn't be afraid. You'd better get a divorce from that man."
"They're a mafia family. I'm sure they won't just let me go. I don't want anything to happen to our family either," Kamila said.
"About that, you don't have to worry. I will protect our family. Divorce from Gerald, and we will be together again." Reynaldi explained.
"I want to talk to Father."

"Hello, Kamila." Kamila's father greeted her after receiving a call from Reynaldi.

Kamila could not hold back her tears as she told him everything. Their decision was the same. Kamila must divorce Gerald. Reynaldi and Kamila's father calmed Kamila down.

"What are you doing here?"

A voice startled Kamila. Looking back, she saw Sean with his cold gaze. Kamila hurriedly turned off the cell phone.

"Sean. Why are you here?" Kamila asked back.
"I should be the one asking. Secretly calling in a quiet place. Suspicious!" Sean smiled wryly.
"It's nothing. I'll excuse myself." Kamila hurriedly left. Sean continued to stare at Kamila until she was out of sight.
"Interesting," Sean said.

Kamila looked nervous. Suddenly, her head was spinning from too many thoughts. Kamila still met Alvero and invited him to play.

At night, Kamila and Gerald were together on the bed. Gerald smiled while playing with Kamila's hair. Admiring his wife's beautiful face.

"Gerald." Kamila greeted me softly.
"What, darling? Hmmm?" Gerald's hoarse voice was able to erode Kamila's courage.

However, if not said now, When else? Kamila took a breath.
"I want us to get a divorce!”
