And it hasn't been an hour since methane left my room, Riya sneaks in without my knowledge.
"Hello, handsome" she smiles.
"Hello, Riya, what are you doing here?" I asked fiddling for her response.
"What do you mean why I'm here? Can't I come to talk with you anymore? Ain't we friends?". She frowns at me.
I had no idea that our relationship can be tagged friends, I have always thought that I was the guy, who normally comes to her rescue! Nothing more, nothing less.
"Wow, Riya! You surprise me with your words".
I smirked.
Riya giggled seeing the look I had on, she takes three steps closer to where I stood, our eyes locked for a while before she proceeds with her statement.
"We can be more if you want to! Do you?".
She added.
I noticed the gilt in her eyes, does it mean she wants us to be more than friends?.
"Yes! I do want us to be more than friends! And do you wanna know something else?" She gives herself a time out before recessing her words again to me, "I love you Salem Baltimore! I am in love with you and I do know that it might come as a shock to you but please don't say no to me".
She added.
I looked at her and found she wasn't joking, Riya loves me, how's that possible and when did the love start to bloom?..
Riya is indeed a beautiful, tall, fair-skinned lady, who illuminates the whole room with her presence and any man would be lucky to have a woman like her but that man isn't me. (Frowns).
Her presence in my life will not only prove to be dangerous but also might end her life in a dash, and I cannot let anything happen to her, yes! I do care about Riya a lot but I don't think if I could call this love! Or can I?, But in all, I have to send any dangerous feelings of love for me away, to keep her safe, from myself, my past, and my mom.
"Look Riya! I am thankful that you dared to tell me how you truly feel about me, but I am sorry, I do not feel the same way, and with time you will understand why I said such words to you".
I looked away, facing my window.
Her eyes teared up as she dashed out of the room.
It pains me to see her in such a manner, but that is the best way to keep Riya safe, hopefully, the pains she feels will wash away, and finally get to understand the reason behind my hurtful words to her.
The same day, Elena called me over to her room, she veers the second I took a step in, holding a piece of paper in her hand.
