I answered back.
"Wow, I'm stunned you think of me as a thief, but let me ask you! What made you say such words to me?". Methane asked donning a grimace.
" oh please, don't act as if you're innocent, because I know you ain't, tell me the truth, how much have you retained from the company?.
I picked up a document on the table and slapped it back down.
Elena walks out of her room and met the atmosphere tense.
"what's going on?" She asked.
At the same time, Riya walks in and noted the same thing.
"Nothing Elena, it's nothing!". I veered and walks past without altering any more words.
Elena knew that I wouldn't have told her anything if she requested it, methane also left, leaving her suspicious.
Two hours went by, I strolled out of the house in hopes to clear my thoughts, I drove to the playground and saw Riya seated there alone, she gets up immediately the second my presence was felt, ambling away.
"Hold on Riya," I said as she halts regaining her attention to me, "what is it?" She asked.
I walked closer to her and said, "how are you? Are you okay?".
"Don't I look okay to you?" She resolved.
I took a step further to speak, just then a gunshot was fired at us.
It hits a tree and I turned to catch a man running away.
I ran after him, leaving Riya behind.
"Hold on" I yelled out.
Luckily I got closer and nailed him to the ground.
"who sent you creep, Tell me".
I pulled out my hands to punch.
But he fought back, I had no idea what was going on behind but the next minute, something heavy was smashed on my head and I dropped unconscious.
(A few minutes later)
I woke up just to find myself home, who took me? I asked.
Riya walks into my room, holding a first aid kit in her hand, "are you okay?" She placed the kit next to her.
"Where you the one that brought me home?" I inquired.
"Yes! I found you lying unconscious, did anything happen?".
Riya takes up the first aid kit and placed it on her lap.
Truly I have no idea what happened exactly, but all I can remember was a man trying to hurt us and when I caught up with him, I was knocked out unconscious, is Elena behind this? is Riya's life in danger, because of me?.
