Chapter Fifteen
**PRESENT DAY**
William made his way to the hospital, he wanted to make sure that detective Montgomery was still unconscious and stayed that way. Under the guise of visiting someone else, William located a patient on the same floor as the detective and proceeded to make his way to the 4th floor. Once up there he located Nick's room and entered the detective was out cold, according to the monitor vitals were stable for the moment. Shortly after a nurse entered and he was able to probe for more information as she was under the impression, he was a loved one. She was able to let William know that has of now Nick was healthy but unconscious and while they were trying to wake him up the process was slow and long. The nurse left shortly after that and that’s when William went up to Nick and whispered in his ear all the things, he'd since discarding the detective. Not long after he finished, he noticed that the heartrate had gone up on the monitor, satisfied that Nick was going nowhere or waking up anytime soon William left for his next destination.
He’d just made it to the crime lab and was waiting outside for one of the team members to exit so he could follow and hopefully learn more about the case at hand. Eventually Alex and Kassidy exited the building and were heading towards the coffee shop down the street, William followed close by and kept up easily without being seen. Once they had their drinks and food they sat down and proceeded to discuss the case, William was tucked away in a nearby corner and was able to hear every detail. As far as he could tell they still had no idea who abducted Nicholas, just that whoever it was meant business and as for the new case they had picked up it matched Thomas’s MO perfectly which meant it could only be the brother William. As for the female victim they could tell she was young mid to early twenties, dark brown hair and about 5’3”, William was careful to conceal her features so beyond that they honestly knew nothing of this young girl. William couldn’t help but smile to himself, as much as he missed his brother, he had always been the smarter one, everything was going so perfect. He’d decided he’d had his fill of information for the time being but decided to leave the CSIs with a parting gift. It should be mentioned that William was as careful at concealing his identity as he was with everything else, even if they did ask the barista for a description, it would be so non-descript that it could be any number of guys. He went up to the barista and handed her an envelope and asked her to give to the CSI’s after he left.
She didn’t know who he was other than he requested that she deliver this envelop to the two people sitting near the back, and he made sure to mention that he’d be watching which only made her follow his instructions to a “T”. Erica made her way to the table and handed the envelope to Alex and relayed the message she’d been given by the mysterious gentleman. Alex thanked her and she walked away, he opened the envelope and was shocked at the picture he found inside, “Kassidy….”, without looking up from her drink she asked Alex what was wrong, “That guy that gave the barista this envelope….it was him, he was here.” Kassidy had a confused look on her face, “Who was here Alex? What was in that envelope?” He carefully handed the whole thing over to Kassidy as to not reveal its contents to the other café customers. What Kassidy saw caused her to almost choke it was pictures of the girl they were trying to find, her face was still hidden but she was tied to a chair and appeared to be unconscious. William was as careful as ever to hide this girl’s identity, they couldn’t believe that he was this close the whole time, they asked the barista for the surveillance video of the café and booked it back to the lab to inform Matthew and the others.
William had been watching from just outside the café and was delighted at the reactions his parting gift produced. He made his way back to Sam’s apartment, when he entered, she was still unconscious, he made sure she was still breathing and then went to check her phone. She had a voicemail from her father giving an update on the case as well as a few texts from him and Laura, they just wanted to make sure she was ok, he responded back to them as if he was Sam letting them know she was feeling better but not quite there yet. He decided to get clean and took another shower, Sam was still out cold in the living room still reliving her memories from 4 months ago when she first fell victim to the O’Brien Brothers. If she’d known, then what she knew now she would have gladly died back then.
