Chapter Eight

After Samantha had finished cleaning up and getting dressed William brought her out to the living room where he had another chair set up. He placed Samantha in the chair and proceeded to tie her arms to the arms of the chair, but rather than tie each of her legs to the legs of the chair he simply tied them together. William had placed the chairs at an angle so that they would be able to see each other, he wanted them to know what was being done to the other. Nick hadn’t seen Samantha since last night, but he could see the bruise that had fully formed on her right cheek from last night. He could also see that she’d been crying again as well, he didn’t know how, but he would make William pay for all the damage he and his brother had caused to Samantha.

William proceeded to grab a couple of syringes from his bag as well as alcohol pads, and various other items. He placed everything down in front of Samantha and Nick on the coffee table, among the items he had grabbed were various knives, a few scalpels, and a small blow torch. It didn’t exactly leave much to the imagination of what exactly William planned on doing to them both. “I promise it looks horrible, but for the time being at least neither of you will be able to feel a thing.” William turned to Nick first cleaning his arm with the alcohol pad before injecting Nick with the liquid inside the syringe. He then turned to Samantha and did the same, “This is simply a nerve blocker, you’ll be aware of everything I do to you both, but you won’t feel a thing. It takes about 15 minutes for full effectiveness, but I figure we’re starting with you first Nick, so a little pain won’t bother you I’m sure.” William grabbed what looked like a small ice pick, he then grabbed the small blow torch and used it to heat the implement to red hot. He lifted up Nick’s shirt and pressed the hot metal against his skin, it made a hiss upon contact, Nick clenched his jaw in pain and cursed through his teeth. William pulled it away used the torch to heat it up again, before pressing it against another part of Nick’s abdomen. There was no rhyme or reason as to where or how long William held it against Nick’s skin other than he wanted to and had promised torture. True to Williams word Nick eventually felt nothing that was being done to him, after about an hour of burning various parts of Nick he turned his attention to Samantha. While William knew what ever he did would leave scars, he wasn’t as keen as burning Samantha as he had been Nick. Instead, he opted for the scalpel which could make precise cuts and minimize the scaring it would cause, not that he actually cared much as she would be dead by the end of the week. But because he genuinely didn’t want to damage such a beautiful woman, even so William would still complete what he had set out to do.

While Samantha had seen quite a bit in her career, the sight of her closet friend being tortured was enough to shake her to the core. She had actually passed out a few times in the process and William had to wake her up, but now it was her turn. Nick while still conscious, was finding it extremely hard to focus, because even though he couldn’t feel the pain his body knew it was still there and was fighting it. William picked up the scalpel and cut though Samantha’s shirt like it was nothing, he began making his first cuts across her chest and slowly up the sides. Nothing long or severely deep, but enough that everything slowly became a rich crimson, and her clothes began to stain red. Samantha had been awake for the first few but had passed out and William didn’t even bother to wake her up this time. Nick had tried to protest but William simply ripped off a piece of duct tape and gagged the detective again. William finished up with Samantha and decided to take the chance to clean himself up again and check each of their respective phones.

Nick had a few missed calls and texts from his sister, at which point William decided to access the tracking on the phone and turn it off before turning the phone off. Samantha too had a few missed calls as well as texts from Laura and her father, being as careful as possible William quickly composed a few responses to the texts. To Laura he advised that “Samantha” had not seen him since he dropped off some food and cold medicine but that she hadn’t heard from him either. To Matt he sent a similar message but composed as one that would normally be sent to her father and not a friend. William figured he realistically had the rest of the day or less with Detective Montgomery before he would either have to kill him or drop him off somewhere to be found. Carefully weighing both options in his mind William decided it would be best if he simply drugged the detective and staged what looked like a carjacking gone bad. If William did his math correctly by the time the detective would wake up and alert them to what was actually transpiring, Samantha should already be dead. Though he had already made his mind up on the subject, he still thought it would be great fun to give the detective an illusion of choice in the matter. Maybe even make him think they could possibly save Samantha, after all psychological torture was just one of the things William did best.
