Chapter 109: I Will Always Be Careful

Chapter 109: I Will Always Be Careful

Luciano

The knife was dropped on the cover beside us, I had no idea what Abigail had carved into my flesh and I was too close to the edge to give a shit about it. While her hands gripped onto my shoulders, my head fell back onto the headboard of the bed. By the clenching of her muscles, I knew she was  just as close as I was.

It was no longer only my moans and sound that filed the room, it was both of us that disappeared into the fog of rapture and bliss.

“I have to cum.” I grunted.

“I can't hold back.”

“Not yet,” she moaned.

Despite the irritation and degrading she had caused me, I obliged. Otherwise, we would have to do this all over again, so I held back, waited until her back arched and her pussy spasmed around me.

“Now,” she said in the midst of her high.

“Cum now.” She ordered, my muscles unclenched, and I immediately fell over the edge.

Until the very last drop, my hips met her movement. My eyes closed and I caught my breath again and she had to hold herself up to avoid falling down.

“I don't care what you say, I know you enjoyed that.” She said in a breath, smiling down at me and I let out a tired chuckle.

“The knife was a nice touch, I will admit.” I said back with a tilted smirk.

If she didn't have such a steady hand, this would have turned out a lot worse. Luckily, she had trained her grip.

“What did you even cut?” I ask, she paused and did nothing but smile cheekily.

“Look down.”

Right in the middle of my upper chest was nothing but a small text covered in a light layer of blood. She swiped it away with her fingertip and the letter soon cleared. It was upside down from my point of view but the letters were expected, considering what she said while she did it. It was her name, she had literally marked me as hers. I suspected that the cut wood would leave a scar after it healed and I would then walk with her name carved on my chest forever.

Abigail POV

It didn't take long before every bag was packed in the truck the following morning. Four cars were lined up outside the entrance, ready to depart at any moment. No matter where I turned, there were people walking back and forth around the property, following Luciano's commands.

Despite him including me as much as possible in the plan they had come up with, most of the information went over my head. And other times, I decided not to participate in their meetings at all. I wasn't coming with them anyway, meeting Metteo again would probably only frustrate me. The Lotus Mafia had been a bump in the road for our cartel since Metteo's father decided to rise up against the Adams family and their cartel. That was what I knew. I am not sure what role I played in all of this or why I suddenly became a target for Metteo. It had to be about more than just their feud with my father. Whatever it was, I trusted Luciano to handle it as he said he would. I needed a break from the firing of weapons and killing people.

I wanted to talk to my father about all of this but did I realize I wanted to walk down a path filled with more questions and confusion? Maybe the cause of it  wasn't important. The only thing I cared about was that my family was safe and that Luciano came home in one piece.

“Don't worry, dear. He will be okay.”

I looked at my side where Luciano's mother stood, squeezing my arm reassuringly. For some odd reason, she always seemed to be good at reading my mind. She was a lot like my own mother, although lately  I have been better at keeping things from her which had filled me with guilt.

“No, I am not worried. Just…thinking.” I said, trying to sound honest.

The truth was I didn't trust Metteo, not one bit. He was a dangerous man and I had a hard time coding for him, not that I had met him that many times, but he seemed like a man who always had his next move ready to go like Luciano. She shifted a brow, showing me I hadn't convinced her. I let out a heavy breath and looked ahead where Luciano spoke quietly with a few of his men.

“It is okay to be a little anxious, it shows you care.” She muttered.

“This will be easy for them. Santana has shown he isn't afraid of him and he will regret that. The Lotus Mafia have bothered us for years and it is time we put an end to it. So be prepared to see him coming back with blood on his hands.” I moved my eyes to her with a small frown.

“But, it is just a meeting.”

She chuckled and clutched onto the coat, granting her the warmth she needed a day like this, apart from me who stood with one of Luciano's hoodies and my sweatpants.

“It is the mafia, dear. It speaks for itself.”

I realized that she was right, of course, Luciano wouldn't be satisfied with peace. He is a vengeful and proud man and he needs more. And why else would they bring so much ammunition? Only a minute later, they were all ready to leave. While the rest of the men got in the cars, Luciano made his way to us.

I have doubled the security around the house while I am gone, if anything happens, I want you to call me immediately.” He gave us a serious look but his mother just dismissively waved her hand at him.

“Don't worry about us, we will be fine.” She said with a smile.

“I know, I know. It is just in case.” He said back, she opened her arms for him and he gave her a hug.

His mother was an inch or two shorter than me so he had to lean down even further while embracing her. When they let go, she kissed his cheeks and said something I couldn't understand. I really had to work on my native language.

“I have to say goodbye to your brother.” She said and walked past him to where Ambrose was. When it was just the two of us, he held out his hands towards me.

“Come here.”

His arms snaked around my waist while mine went around his neck. I pressed my chin into his shoulder, closing my eyes for a second to enjoy the smell and feeling of him. I won't be able to feel this safe for some time. I was being dramatic, it was just only for a few days.

“I will miss you,” I whispered. His hand traveled up to caress the back of my head while he tightened his hold a little more.

“I know, angel. I will miss you too but I will be back before you know it.” He promised.

Both of us pulled back and now his hands held my face. With my hands on his waist, I could feel the body heat through his shirt.

“And we can talk on the phone, alright?” I nodded with a smile.

I stood up on my toes to give him a kiss, his lips replied to it instantly, deepening the kiss. Then we pulled apart, only for our foreheads to meet.

“I have to go but I will call you when I get there, okay?” He said, his tone soft and low.

“Yes,” I nodded, he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my lips again.

“I love you.” He whispered the words he had said so many times now, still it made a flutter in my stomach.

“I love you too, be careful, please.”

“I am always careful.” He shrugged with a laugh.

We both know he had a tendency to put his own safety aside when it comes to these sorts of things as if his confidence convinced him that it always worked out in the end no matter what.

“Yes, well you are also lacking consistent thinking.”  I pointed out.

“Just promise me you will come back, not hurt?”

“I promise.”
