Chapter 61

Claudia's POV

I turned around when I heard Kenneth's voice. He was leaning against the window sill, in the red shirt he had been wearing when I had last seen him, during my training.
"What?"
What the hell was he talking about? Is this about what had happened between Maxwell and I earlier? I had a sneaky little feeling it was. Wearily, I got off the couch and went over to where Kenneth was standing.
"I saw everything, Claudia."
He stated, clenching his fists and not looking at me..
"I saw how you kissed him and made him feel like you actually cared about him! Then you left him, alone, staring into space and looking miserable."
"Kenneth, it's not what you think."
He stared at me, an unreadable expression taking over his face.
"Then what is it, Claudia? You kissed him and left!" He exclaimed.
"I know you've been through a lot, but Maxwell has too. Claudia, if you aren't ready for whatever the hell happened out there, then just tell Maxwell that!"
He said, staring into my eyes. I understood that Kenneth was worried about what happened, and he should be, since Maxwell is his best friend. But, he understood things wrong.
"Maxwell may have seemed a bit cold at first Claudia, but trust me when I say this. He's a very sweet guy at heart."
He stated in a calm voice, making me smile slightly. Kenneth was too sweet for his own good. Any other guy in his place would have started shouting, but he simply explained what he thought, and was now giving me the chance to do the same. Any girl that ended up with Kenneth would be lucky. Unfortunately for me though, I have my sights The usual wink followed this obnoxious comment, and before I even had time to come up with a witty remark in return, I was pulled out of my bed. My warm, comfortable bed where I wanted to stay, and not have to face Maxwell, or anyone else for that matter, anytime soon. Benson was a force to be reckoned with though, and he sent me a grin before continuing to strut down the hall, of course with me being pushed along the entire way.
"Come on, I wanna eat."
"My finger!"
I jumped up from my seat in fright and looked over at Benson.
"Claudia, kiss the booboo."
He held up his finger that was bleeding and pouted, his face somehow still managing to look attractive, even when he was acting like a five year old. Rolling my eyes, I walked in Benson's direction to go see the magical cut, that I was sure was another act he was putting on. He seemed to be full of them today, just when I was in the mood for it, not.
Since Benson was hungry, we decided to make pizza and a salad to go with it. I took on the task of making the pizza, whilst Benson was in charge of putting together the salad. That suddenly seemed like a bad idea though, as I thought about the sharp knife he would be using. That could only end badly, seeing as he couldn't act serious for more than two seconds, I thought, rolling my eyes at his foolishness.
I looked at Benson finger, then at him with a scowl.
"Seriously? Ketchup?"
I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"It was worth a shot."
He grinned, taking a bunch of cucumbers and cutting them.
"Anyways, how was training?"
"Wonderful."
I dryly replied.
"So I take it that Maxwell was hard on you."
"Wait, you knew about Maxwell?"
I demanded, putting both of my hands on my hips. Benson looked like a deer caught in the headlights, and I smirked at the idea of him being scared of me. Yeah, that's right, you better be scared!
"Well yeah, but I wasn't allowed to tell you."
He said, giving me an apologetic smile.
Before I could answer, someone barged into the room and squealed loudly enough for Benson to quickly cover his ears.
"Claudia!"
Well, that's Clara alright.
I turned around, smiling and before I knew it, both of us were practically hugging the life out of one another.
"I missed you."
Clara pulled away, a big smile on her face.
"Haha, me too."
From the moment we took a seat, Clara started talking about what happened to her whilst visiting her parents. Out of all of her blabbering though, the only thing that caught my attention was Clara talking about two hot twins that she met at the castle.
"Violet, he is so HOT!"
She canned herself and put on her 'dreamy' face, as she liked to call it. But I knew she was exaggerating, so I decided to tease her a little bit.
"Really? Well, I wanna meet him."
I said, a small smile on my face. I can't wait to see her reaction on this one.
"He's mine."
She said, pointing a finger at me.
"But, you can always date his super sexy bI put my elbow on the table and listened to Clara chatter about their hotness and what they looked like, nodding occasionally so she could tell that I was listening
The one that Clara described as 'one hot piece of ass' was called Jackson and his brother was Loenard, the 'just as hot' one that I was allowed to date. According to clarat, Jackson had big green eyes and shaggy brown hair, while his brother had puppy dog brown eyes and short brown hair. I wanted to laugh at Clara. She sounded like a clingy girlfriend, saying that Jackson is hers, but I knew that she was only joking. Well, kind of. She probably really did think he was hers.
"Oh, and you should see their bodies!" She exclaimed.
"Cut!"
Benson put his hand between us.
"That's enough, Clara."
Clara scowled, shooting him a dirty look, but sighed happily and stood up.
"I'm going to take a shower. See you later, Claudia."
I shook my head, a smile on my face. Clarae can be crazy at times, but at least I wasn't like that.
"Well, that was interesting."
A voice stated from behind Benson and I. We both turned around and grinned when we saw Westley, leaning against the door Clara had just left through.
"Yupp, my sister is kinda crazy.."
I shook my head. Clara just gets carried away sometimes.
"Kinda crazy? She's a maniac! Last time, she was about to crash my car!"
Benson cried out, making both Westley and I laugh.
"Anyways Claudia, I need to talk to you about something…alone."
Westley said, looking at bensot as he spoke, who simply rolled his eyes
"Oh, and no funny business you two."
He pointed at both of us, eyes full of humor as he watched my reaction to his silly antics. I tried, successfully, to hide it from him, and my face burned up as I glared at Benson, who only chuckled as he walked out of the room. I swear, some day, I will kick him so hard that he won't be able to walk for a week!
"Well, there's a ball coming up soon in the Witch Kingdom, to celebrate your presence. At the ball, your uncle will introduce you as the official princess and heir of the witch kingdom."
I stood there, shocked.
I didn't know how to reply to that. I didn't know what to think. Oh Gosh! That means I have to wear a dress! Yeah good going, Claudia! That's the thing you should be most worried about!
"And a princess should have someone to escort her."
I knew what was coming next.
"So, I was wondering, if I could be the one to do that?"
He finished, looking at me with hopeful eyes. My brain kept screaming NO, but I didn't listen.
"Of course."
Westley smiled.
"Phew, I thought someone else had already beaten me to it."
He said, whipping the sweat off his forehead. I knew whom he was referring to, Maxwell. But I wouldn't let myself think about that, until I was locked up in my room again and I didn't have to keep up appearances as a princess.
Westley took my hand in his and gave it a little squeeze, not sensing the emotional instability occurring within me right now.
"I have to go now, I will see you later."
"Bye."
I replied and smiled slightly, hoping he didn't see through it, and waited until he walked out before letting my pathetic attempt at a smile drop. I turned around, putting my hands on the kitchen.
"What have I done?"
